Preening Shedletsky's Wings

Request: Can I pretty please with a cherry on top request Shedletsky with a reader who loves his wings and wants to help him preen them? Reader makes sure to be respectful af when asking and does their best not to pressure him ofc! I love your HC that they hurt him and are unkept because of them getting clipped when entering the realm and the second I read it I was dying wanting to make him feel better in any way shape or form, poor guy :(((

It took you a little while to notice the wings on your partner's back, it didn’t help that he went out of his way to hide them. The pair on his ears weren’t that weird considering Taph also had them, but his back pair? Purposely hidden away, although you could see them shake occasionally when he got excited.

Today you saw molted feathers all over the ground, Shedletsky was trying to ignore them as if he wasn’t actively dropping more. “Hey, Shed?” “Hmm?” He turned towards you, tired but he couldn’t ignore you. “Did you want help there?” His eyebrow raised, confused until you pointed at the fallen feathers.

“If you want help, please ask, I’m always here.” His eyes darted over all the fallen feathers, finally realising how bad it had gotten. “Really?” Nodding, he reached out for your hand to guide you into his room. It was warm, kinda messy as if he couldn’t relax. You sat on the bed as he sat on the floor, slowly and gently pulling his shirt off and over his head.

Wings stretched out before suddenly retreating, he hissed. “Shed, babe, why do you hide them?” Moving your hand over the feathers softly, at that simple action a few loose feathers fluttered downwards. A grimace covered his face, “I… I did show them off, it’s just— too many close calls and they started getting in the way.”

No wonder they were in his way, his wings were huge, just bigger than his armspan. In seconds you started plucking any loose feathers, moving on when they didn’t drop quickly, not wanting to cause any pain. It took nearly a half an hour just for the first wing, giving it a quick mist with water before moving on.

Brushing inbetween his wings and back, a short laugh came from Shedletsky. Making note of that before moving on to the other wing, it was just a bit quicker. At the end you had small piles of feathers on the floor, taking this time to go back to his back. Softly pressing your hand there, where smaller feathers grew from where the wings stemmed from.

The touch did more than you thought it did, as his laughter faded into a ‘chirp!’ You both paused, he slowly turned towards you. Only watching as your hand started again, you were done with the important part, what's wrong with a little fun?

THE SUN BATHED the cobblestone streets in warm light, but the marketplace buzzed with chaos. Vendors shouted over one another, children darted between stalls, and somewhere, a lute player strummed a lively tune. You were just another face in the crowd, weaving through the bustle with a basket in hand, searching for fresh produce.

Telamon noticed you the moment you stepped into the square. Among the noise and clamor, you were quiet—a calm presence that drew his gaze like a moth to flame. He stood on the balcony of a towering spire, golden eyes narrowing as he observed you from afar. His feathered ears twitched as he listened, tuning out the cacophony to focus solely on you.

He didn’t descend immediately. No, Telamon preferred to watch, to understand what it was about you that captured him so completely. Perhaps it was the way you treated the vendors with kindness or how you paused to help a child who had dropped their fruit. Whatever it was, it stirred something in him—a rare warmth in his otherwise cold heart.

When he finally approached, it was with an air of authority. The crowd seemed to part for him, his black and gold robes flowing like liquid shadow. The feathers poking out from his cloak glimmered in the sunlight, and his towering frame cast a long shadow over you.

"You’re far too trusting," he said, his voice smooth yet laced with condescension.

Startled, you looked up, meeting his piercing gaze. "Excuse me?"

"The market," he gestured lazily. "A place full of thieves and schemers, and yet you move through it as if the world has no sharp edges."

You frowned. "I don’t see the point in assuming the worst of everyone."

He chuckled softly, a sound that rumbled like distant thunder. "Naïve, but admirable."

"Who are you to judge?" you shot back, standing your ground despite the unease prickling at your skin.

"Telamon," he answered, his smirk growing. "Not that my name should mean anything to you, but it will, soon enough."

You took a step back, unsure whether to be wary or amused. He noticed, of course, and his expression softened, though his golden eyes remained sharp.

"I’ve been watching you," he admitted, his tone quieter now. "You stand out in a world that thrives on chaos. It’s… intriguing."

"That sounds a little creepy," you replied bluntly, earning a surprised laugh from him.

"Perhaps," he said, tilting his head like a curious bird. "But I won’t apologize for it. You’re interesting, and I’ve decided to protect you—whether you want me to or not."

Before you could protest, he turned and walked away, his wings shifting beneath his robes. You stood there, bewildered, as the crowd resumed its bustle, none the wiser to the strange encounter that just unfolded.

➷ — HEADCANNONS:

Telamon carries himself with the aura of someone who’s seen and done everything. His reputation precedes him, and while most are intimidated, you’re one of the few who challenge him.

In a chaotic world, your steady nature is what initially draws him in. He finds your kindness fascinating, even if he doesn’t fully understand it.

Telamon ensures no harm comes to you, whether by intimidating potential threats or stepping in at just the right moment. You might not even realize how many times he’s saved you from danger.

He doesn’t want to control you, but he does want you to depend on him. He’s always nearby, ready to swoop in if needed, and his presence is hard to ignore.

His condescending attitude masks his genuine affection. He teases you often, but his actions—like fixing something you’ve struggled with or quietly leaving gifts—betray his softer side.

Though he tries to maintain his cold exterior, there are moments when his feelings slip through. A lingering touch, a rare compliment, or the way his wings unfurl slightly when he’s near you—signs of his growing attachment.

Telamon is the type to observe from the shadows, his golden eyes tracking your every move. He’s not afraid to intervene if he deems it necessary, but he prefers to stay unnoticed unless he wants you to see him.

If someone else shows interest in you, Telamon dismisses them with a sharp comment or a withering glance. He won’t lash out—he’s above such petty displays—but his irritation is evident in how he subtly asserts his dominance.

Despite his aloof and condescending demeanor, he has an undeniable softness when it comes to you. He’ll adjust his tone if he sees you’re upset or sit beside you in silence when words aren’t enough.

Telamon’s wings are a source of warmth and protection. While he’s typically reserved about showing them fully, he’ll wrap them around you in moments of vulnerability or when he wants to shield you from the world.

He’s not as composed as he wants you to believe. His wings can be comically expressive, fluffing up when he’s irritated or folding tightly when he’s embarrassed. You’ve caught him muttering under his breath about how impractical his robes are when his feathers stick out.

He doesn’t force his will on you but nudges you in directions that align with his plans. A missed appointment with someone he doesn’t like, a sudden storm that "coincidentally" keeps you indoors—he’s always one step ahead.

This is kind of my interpretation of BOTH Telamons in Forsaken and Block Tales. 🥸

TO BE FAIR, he doesn't understand these feelings that seems to consume his heart whenever he is near or close to you, the warmth and happiness then there is the possessiveness and jealousy too.

You were local casino worker at the casino he and chance often goes to, he had first met you because of chance, who introduced you both.

At first, the feelings started as just distant and careless. But time pass by, the both of you get closer and closer. The feelings began to change.

He's been more attentive on you whenever he comes by, he'll try to put up some flirts here and there, of course there has to be something that bothers this interaction.

Chance were more closer to you, since he were the reason why you even work at the casino at some point, which makes itrapped angry. Though he wouldn't show it, for you.

The jealousy got more worse when itrapped saw other people flirting with you or anything in general, women or men, it doesn't matter. You are his and that fact will always be there.

He had been so patient for you to notice his courting, yet you don't seems to see it. Only seeing it in friendly way and not romantic way that he wished for you to see.

So in matter of such impatient, he thought mabye taking you for himself would be much better than waiting and waiting,

Yandere Chance thoughts again. This time, it's post-forsaken.

Death used to be one of the ways you can escape obsession, but now that death is no longer permanent, you'll be stuck with a gambler who will never leave you alone. Even though they have lost their life from before, they could still pretty much be as terrifying as pre-forsaken in their own way.

Luck, of course still sways their way, and it almost seems to double when you're around. Why so? The Specter, the being that thrives off of misery, a needed factor to keep them alive and their abilities strong, cannot pass this up. They will manipulate the rounds to pair the two of you more often, they will even switch your cabin placement to be close to Chance's. You can think of the Specter being a twisted version of Cupid, feeding Chance's obsession much to your dismay.

You can try to tell the other survivors, but Chance is good at keeping a poker face and managing their own emotions. So, 9/10 times, the others won't believe you much, and the best they can do is comfort you and try to ease you up. Although, Two Time could be one of the few to see through the act, or maybe 007n7. Builderman can be the one to talk to Chance about it, but he will just tell the gambler to be more easy around you.

Does he listen? Somewhat. He can't let the people around him lose trust in him fully after all. However, he'll just get more creative in ways to be around you, to continue overstepping your boundaries. Reason with him, yell at him all you want, it doesn't change the fact that you can't escape them.

Stockholm syndrome can form if you don't figure out a way to save yourself, or at least keep your distance. No matter the reason for their obsession, it's still wrong. You shouldn't cave, for your own sake.

Sure, complying and accepting is fine, saves you from the late nights that you wake up in your cabin, only to see Chance on your bed with you, arms wrapped around you, or the way they are constantly hovering over you. But, you'll drive their unhealthy mindset even further, affirming that what they are doing is right.

Now, if you accept and decide to be in a relationship with them, they will be doing everything in their power to keep you safe. Your personal bodyguard whenever you two are in a round. However, this protectiveness can apply to the other survivors. Don't you see how Two Time can be dangerous when they hold a knife? Don't you see how careless Shedletsky can be with his sword? What if either of them hurt you by accident?

He won't kill anyone, since it's pointless as death is not permanent. No need to waste his time on that. They'll just isolate you from everyone, ensuring that will be the only one to have your attention and your love.

Don't you worry dollface, you won't break under their love. Not entirely. Just enough for them to have you all to themself completely.
