OUR ORIGINS

Founded in 2011, aëdle is a French Design House specialized in manufacturing Travel Instruments.

ENCOUNTER

Baptiste and Raphaël met under the roofs of Keio University. In the shade of the Tokyo Tower, they began to dream about how they could create their own headphones.

Connecting future and tradition in timeless shapes and forms.

These seeds eventually grew three years later with the birth of aëdle.

VISION

aëdle navigates through art and technique, future and tradition to offer a unique definition of audio luxury and travel instruments.

The alliance of secular and contemporary know how with the use of noble materials is at the heart of aëdle’s creative process.

We believe that the key to create unique pieces that transcend time lies in the mastery of details.

INSPIRATION

Our inspiration comes from the immersive novels of Jules Verne, the bold myths of Homer and the poetic compositions of Wagner.

We love exploring. New shapes, materials or ways to use a daily item.

MANUFACTURING

Located in Montparnasse, Paris, our workshop is a crossroad where ideas and know-how meet and vitalize our creative process. Engineers and designers collaborate all together as a family to create unique and timeless products.

Every member of the team, alongside of their tasks, masters all aspects of the audio accessories. This ensures a high care to every single detail.

Mitchell & Johnson - SHOP HERE

Mitchell and Johnson is a British Hi-Fi company established in London 2012 by Paul Mitchell and David Johnson. Paul Mitchell has now left the business and has moved onto pastures new.

Both born in the 60’s, we were teenagers whose musical taste was heavily influenced by great British Rock bands like, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, then along came Punk Rock, The Jam, The Sex Pistols, UK Subs. Into The 1980s and the birth of Synth Britannia, with OMD, Human League. Then came the 90’s with Brit Pop, Oasis and Blur, we both passionately love music, especially British music.

My guilty secret though is Elvis Presley, I love the King, Thank you very much. In today’s digital world, music consumption is at a record high and is listened to on so many devices, from smartphones to Hi-Fi. I believe there is a whole generation from c 8 to 40 year olds who haven’t sat in a room and heard music in stereo, it’s like a headphone, or a concert /music festival experience but for your home. The vocals coming from one side of the room, the lead or bass guitar coming at you from another.

This state of the art technology combined with classic hi-fi design at an affordable price, that you can take out and about with you, to enjoy and share your music that's our passion.

I want that Stereo effect and best quality possible music experience for as many people as possible, to share and connect with your emotions as Bono put it:“Take me to that other place”

Who We Are

We started as a manufacturer, building other people's designs. What frustrated us is that designers would create a stunning product, but then be redesigned by the customer due to budget constraints. This doesn't mean cheaper for the consumer, the prices are still high because of there are so many channels that needed to be paid for.  Design is all about the details, and changing a few "minor details" can alter the entire product feel or look. Consumers were paying a high price for an inferior product. Therefore, instead of trying to convince the brands not to limit the budget, we've decided to design and produce ourselves and not let cost be the primary concern.  Our priority is set on the perfect design and production of the product!  This is how MIKOL was born. And because we have our own design team, manufacture inhouse, we have the ability to offer a wider selection and customize to our customer's satisfaction. 

DESIGN

We are the kind of people you find at a coffee shop with MacBooks open and drawings spread across the table. A group discussing, work, trips, and adventures that we plan to embark on.

Design is essential for a luxury fashion accessory company.  And some of our greatest creative moments stems from happiness.

WORKSHOP

Here at MIKOL, we are proud to have a strong lasting relationship with our factory workshop. We have to since it's part of our company. =)

What really makes MIKOL different is that we aren't just a design firm. We also operate our own workshop, so every product is very hands on.

MIKOL's greatest joy is seeing others enjoy and share the products we've designed and produced.

The products we create is for a unique crowd that wants something different. Our focus is on a lasting impression for each individual.

 This is what we look for when creating our products as well. The greatest design of a product is intangible until a person brings it to life.

Many may ask why marble? Marble has long been a material that exemplifies class, respect, and luxury. However, given its immense weight and the complex, fragile process of cutting the material, marble has primarily been a premium material used exclusively in the furniture and construction industries. We here at MIKOL have refined an efficient method to utilize marble and finally be able to accessorize our most practical essentials in daily life. With this technology, we have decided to begin our journey into the accessory and fashion world.  We love a good story, and each piece of marble comes with a rich history dating back centuries allowing our customers to "take a piece of the world" and bring that story with them as they go.

We started thinksound™ to make headphones that we would want to listen to; and we’re not easily satisfied. Back when we set out to do this; it was unheard of in the audio industry.

Over the years, other companies have taken notice. They’ve copied the design, the packaging, the accessories, and even have taken text directly from our website and catalog. While these companies and their headphones may try to look similar; it’s only skin deep. The sound, what matters most, just doesn’t compare.
