“Not necessarily. Homeworld gems love their Diamonds even if they’re monsters. I just know she was supposed to colonize earth, and that would have killed everything on it.”
She didn’t sound like she liked the sound of that. After all this place was her home now. Imagine if the Diamonds had destroyed it. She couldn’t believe she also wanted it that way not too long ago.
“Wow. Isn’t there a way to colonize without killing everything? Casualties are unavoidable but I’m sure one could avoid wiping out all life on a potential colony.” Peepers had taken over worlds- always leaving enough troops to keep the rule in place and defend from rivals.

“I wish I could. But I was made centuries after she was shattered by her own quartz soldier. No one ever talked about her that much back on Homeworld, and she’s never talked about here on Earth, so I have no idea why everyone misses her so much.”
“Well, she must’ve been a good leader if she was so well-liked.” So much for potentially learning from what she did. He’d keep trying various things until something worked for him.

“Pssh, it’s not that bad of a topic for me. I barely even think about the Diamonds anymore. they keep screwing up and losing track of everyone down here. We’re just too smart for them. And their supposed to rule over galaxies. Hah!”
Peridot’s care for the Diamonds changed sporadically depending on what she was thinking about. She had called Yellow Diamond a clod. Right to her face! What was there to worry about?
“In that case- if you don’t mind my asking- what made Pink Diamond so well-loved?” Whatever she’d done, it must’ve worked for her. Maybe Peepers could pick up tips on how better to control his troops?

“Yellow Diamond was a little like that. She gave you a chance to recover if you screwed up on a mission, but screw up again and you’re no use to her.”
It was clear Peridot knew a lot about Yellow Diamond compared to the other’s. She talked about her a lot more, and she only barely brought up the other diamonds.
“There was only one Diamond everyone knew and loved, even when they weren’t in her alignment. Pink Diamond. I got to know why.”
“Hater- my former boss’s name -was kinda like that with me. The more I messed up, the worse the punishment. He was surprisingly lax on the other Watchdogs, though- part of why they can’t follow orders.” Peepers figured it was because of his position at the time- second in command. “If that’s a bad topic for you, you don’t have to talk about it.” He was slowly growing to like Peridot- she was alot like him. Big ideas, but little room to show them of.

Respect Your RP Partners
retribuxion:
Something I’ve noticed in the RP community is that we expect our RP partners to be writing machines. We expect them to churn out a reply almost immediately after we post ours, be on when we are, always send us memes, et cetera. Here’s the thing: our RP partners are not machines. They are human beings who need to be respected for more than their ability to write. Other than the usual “your RP partners may not feel like replying at the moment,” here are some things to respect them for, and remember when you’re RPing:
Respect that your RP partner may be in school.
Respect that your RP partner may be employed.
Respect that your RP partner may have at least one physical illness.
Respect that your RP partner may have at least one mental illness.
Respect that your RP partner may have friends outside of tumblr.
Respect that your RP partner may have a family outside of tumblr.
Respect that your RP partner may be a parent.
Respect that your RP partner may have hobbies outside of tumblr.
Respect that your RP partner may have religious obligations.
Respect that your RP partner may not always have internet, or computer access.
Respect that your RP partner may be going through a difficult life situation.
Respect that your RP partner does not have to disclose everything happening in their personal life to you.
Too often, it’s easy to say “no one RPs with me” or “no one ships with me” or “no one sends me anything” without considering any of the above, or even more circumstances your RP partner(s) may be dealing with. Too often, it’s easy to say one of those things, and not consider how the other person feels when reading it. Someone dealing with at least one of these circumstances can feel guilty for not replying right away, sending something, et cetera, or feel like they have to once they see their partner is unhappy.
I know I do when I see things like that on my dash.
When you start feeling guilty for not doing something that is part of your hobby, or feeling like you have to do something that is supposed to be fun, it stops being fun. It feels like a job. I know when I feel obligated to do a reply for a person, I drag my feet. I do not feel excited about the RP as much anymore. Even if they say, “Sure, I’ll wait,” I see them post elsewhere that no one sends them things, or no one RPs with them. The guilt turns on. I feel like I have to reply. It’s a passive-aggressive tactic that a person may not even be aware that they’re doing. No matter what, though, it needs to stop.
All in all, we need to show more kindness and patience towards our RP partners. The best relationships I have on this website are the ones where we treat each other with not only that, but with mutual respect. We also communicate regularly, and tell each other if we need to hold onto replies. I feel relieved knowing I can go to my RP partners, and tell them to hold onto my replies because I’m not feeling well, and I don’t know when I will be. It is an amazing feeling. We need more of that on this website, and less expecting one another to be robots.
We are all human. Never forget that.

dxnttxuchmythings:
Peridot looked up to where she could see Homeworld’s Galaxy at night. His talk of this Dominator girl made her think of the GDA in a lot more detail than she had in a while.

“Well… she couldn’t have been that threatening if you put a stop to her before she could go any farther. Yellow Diamond shatters her own people when they are defiant. And she has a vendetta against me and all my friends for caring about this planet. And what they do is drill into the ground of planets and suck the energy out of them to create more gems. Amethyst’s, Jasper’s, Rubies, Peridot’s like me, all kinds. And when they’ve served their purpose she takes the shards of broken gems and create’s these… things. Things that have a physical form that could just be an arm and a leg, or two arms, or two gravity connectors connected by one leg, whatever. Blue diamond has no patience for simple accidents, and you’re broken if you even accidentally fuse infront of her. She hates fusion more than anything. But I don’t know much about her, Yellow Diamond was my diamond. And… I’ve never heard anything about White Diamond, but I bet she’s the worst. She has the most planet’s under her rule.”
That was a long rant about the diamonds. It was clear Peridot, however reformed she was, still had at least a little respect for their authority. It was a terrifying thought after all. Once the Diamonds got angry, you had to pray they would go easy on you, or you would be shattered but a simple thumb to your gem.
“That’s some steep punishment. Of course there’s always punishment for acting against the rules, but at least give them a chance to explain themselves.” Those... creatures she’d described both fascinated and frightened Peepers. “I may be strict, but at least I know that accidents happen. If they happen often, that’s another story, but you get the point.”

dxnttxuchmythings:

“She sounds exactly like the GDA. The only difference is she stuck to one galaxy like a amateur. And she did it alone, which just makes you look sad. The GDA has hundreds on hundreds of star-maps, mapping out other galaxies and possible colonies in each of them, as well as hazardous planets and options for warp pads. And they have an army to rival that of the population of your galaxy, and mine, put together and multiplied by a factor of five.”
She sounds like she was envious almost. It would be magnificent if she could find some way to see them as well.
“Her entire army was magma robots- they could repair damage to the outer hull themselves. She didn’t destroy the galaxy because nothing was worth anything- she just liked watching people cry.” Peepers remembered from when he took a peek on Dominator’s computer system. “What she’d do is drop this huge drill into the planet, suck out its’ molten core, and turn the planet to a barren wasteland for fun...”

“…Yellow diamond despises organic life. And this planet is a really sad memory for the great Diamond Authority. A sad memory for every Homeworld gem under Pink Diamond’s rule… So they tried to destroy it with a geo-weapon.”
Peridot’s tone changed suddenly, thinking about it. How much trouble everyone was in because of that… incident… to think Steven’s mother had done such a horrible thing. It’s shocking to think that she turned into such a nice smart child.
Memories of his entire galaxy being destroyed by Dominator flooded back from the back of his mind when she mentioned that her boss had tried to destroy Earth- how hopeless he’d felt, how it took him a while to realize they could save their home.
“There was this really big villain- her name was Dominator. She single-handedly destroyed my entire galaxy in a matter of a year... Her name still sends shivers down alot of spines. Our galaxy grew its greenery back thanks to a single flower, but the memories remain.”

“Aaaahahahahaha! He sounds like a total buffoon!”
Peridot’s mood changed completely when he started talking about that idiot leader he once had. He was a fellow short underling meant for bigger things! How could she not like someone like that?

“He sounds a lot like Yellow Diamond… no, Yellow Clod, MY old leader. She was selfish, picky, hot-tempered, and she only wants to destroy this planet. She doesn’t even care that there are unique resources she could have used! Nyeheheheheheh!”
“Why would you destroy a planet at all? There’s always a way to use the resources- no matter how barren it may seem.” Though Peepers had the threat of planetary destruction to get a planet to submit. “I’ve only used destruction of a planet as a threat- it does wonders for making a planet surrender. Even better if you actually have the firepower to back up the threat- which I just so happen to have.”

“They sound like a bunch of clods. At least their leader’s moderately competent, unlike how mine was.”
Was that a compliment? Peridot wasn’t really trying to compliment him. She was just sympathizing. She had dealt with a lot of clods in her lengthy lifetime.
“I know the pain of working for an incompetent leader. The previous leader used to be my boss. He was temperamental, moody, picky, cared only about himself, and- get this -spent 80% of our resources chasing around some orange furry do-gooder who only wanted to be his friend!” Of course, there had been times where Peepers missed his old boss, but they passed quickly.

“Maybe if you don’t want to be recognized and questioned, it would do you good to not come in a big looming ship in the shape of naked human knowledge armor!”
That was…. some interesting way to say ‘skull’ she was taught on Homeworld no doubt. Steven promised her he would explain why Amethyst found her terminology funny, but he barely taught her any of the correct earth words for them, so it couldn’t change.
“What- Oh the Skull Ship. Wait- what?!” Sure enough, the Skull Ship had landed nearby Peepers’ smaller shuttle craft. “I told them to leave the ship in orbit! I swear, ever since I took over the last leader’s position they still haven’t learned to follow simple orders!”

“Yet again, recognized immediately...” He couldn’t go anywhere without being spotted. “Look, I’m not here to do any damage or pick any fights, I’m here to explore the planet. I tried to take over once already- got thwarted in Hawaii. To answer your questions, I am Commander Peepers. I rule the Watchdog Army and I wasn’t aware this barn was occupied.”
@shorteyeballcommander started following you!

“Hey! What are you and why are you at the barn?!” The green being hissed.
She didn’t recognize that ship as any kind of gem tech she remembered, but she definitely didn’t trust it. Especially since it was driven by someone she could finally look at at eye-level.

“Hey! This is the real Peridot! Mind giving this a LIKE/REBLOG if you want to role-play with me and my AMAZING friend Amethyst who’s FAR less of a clod than me?”

“Amethyst, that is NOT what I told you to say! No one is going to take that seriously!”

“No one was gonna take it seriously your way either, P!”
