Hey writers! Join us this Thursday evening, April 12, when we'll host poet, SOP co-founder, and Penny Candy Books publisher Chad Reynolds for our next monthly creative writing workshop! We'll meet at 6:30 PM at the Ralph Ellison Library for his interactive session "Beyond Kid Stuff: What Writers Can Learn From Children's Literature." It will offer insight to writers working in all genres as well as open an insider's window on producing and publishing successful children's books. All writers of high-school age and older are welcome, and attendance is free. As usual, we'll write together, share our work, and have a fantastic time. We're excited to host fiction writer Monica Orange on Thursday, February 8 at 6:30 PM at the Ralph Ellison Library in OKC for the next installment of our free and public creative writing workshops. Orange will present her session “Drawing from the Root: Tapping into your Culture to Develop Voice,” and, as always, we'll do some in-class writing exercises and share our work. And thanks to everyone for your support! Monica Orange is a writer of fiction and a freelance creative consultant from Oklahoma City. She received her BA in English from Oklahoma Christian University and her MFA. in Creative Writing from the Red Earth MFA Program at Oklahoma City University. Her creative nonfiction piece entitled "Horned Toads" recently appeared in Milk Journal.
