Kinda digging the concept of "sitcom universes are fundamentally stable. Every episode, the stage resets, problems are solved, and things reset to the way they started" as a horror trope

Y'know, some people do have a strong crying response to stress, and they might cry (even against their own will) when faced with an upsetting situation and that doesnt mean they are "gaslighting" or "manipulating" you.
There are people who use crying as a manipulation tactic? Absolutely. But that doesn't mean that every person that cries during a heated argument is trying to get under your skin. They have their own emotions and issues, and frankly, not everything other people do is a personal attack on you.

saw an ant on the bus today, what a horrible fate. moved an unfathomable distance from everything you've ever known because of forces you could never possibly understand. no matter how long you follow the pheromone trail you laid you'll never find your way home.

The student loan debt thing got me thinking. Fuck the founding fathers of course, but "I am compelled to study war and politics so that my sons might have liberty to study philosophy and mathematics" is a great line and I think about it every time some fool starts complaining that life doesn't suck as much as it used to

Apparently people are claiming the term “chronically online” is problematic because it downplays the struggles of chronic illness. and as a chronically ill person lemme just say that take is the definition of being chronically online

people fighting tooth and nail to make the human body a pristine, frozen thing when it is in fact ever-changing and often gross by nature… where is the affection. the respect. let that thing breathe

Adults are allowed to be upset when minors call them slurs.
Adults are allowed to confront minors who send them death threats.
Adults are allowed to hold minors accountable for toxic behaviour, that's not "embarassing" or "immature" or "pathetic".
If you're old enough to use the internet unsupervised, you're old enough to handle criticism and backlash for your actions.

When people make disparaging comments, just say thank you.
“You’ve gain weight” “Thank you” “…”
Then they have to either settle with being misunderstood or double down and explicitly explain that they were intentionally being unkind.
I work at a church and religious people use coded language to say crummy things in camouflaged/passive aggressive ways. Today someone told me, “that was an…interesting sermon…”
“Thank you.” <smile>
Then I got to watch them squirm as they tried to decide how to respond.
Tl;dnr: when people are passive aggressive, just say thank you.

the fact that anyone dying can cost a nation up to 6 billion pounds is actually absurd

okay fine, I think matt smith is a good actor and I really liked his portrayal of the doctor (even though he suffered the weakest writing)

Doesn't it feel rather telling that the one thing radfems hate more than anything is a woman who desires things that don't promote their goals? They fucking hate it when a woman chooses what makes her the most happy, whether it's being a housewife or a mother or engaging in kink activities. They don't care about women, they care about their own agenda. Radfems will gladly trample you and your desires under the guise of liberating you because God forbid a woman have the free will to make choices that aren't feminist enough.

People like normal-horoscopes have a vested interest in giving Nazis more power over symbols, because it justifies Nazi-fighting efforts. It’s the Ankh-Morpork Fireman problem.
“Ankh-Morpork no longer had a fire brigade. The citizens had a rather disturbingly direct way of thinking at times, and it did not take long for people to see the rather obvious flaw in paying a group of people by the number of fires they put out. The penny really dropped shortly after Charcoal Tuesday.”
Things like this actually happened in history, BTW.
Yes, corvidaeDream, you are certainly asking yourself that question too frequently.
As in, at all.
