·A soulmate AU where everyone has a timer counting down the exact moment you meet your soulmate. Imagine Morty meeting an old man at the front door, only for his timer to go off at the exact moment. Imagine how he feels after his mom tells him this old man is his grandfather.

·A soulmate AU where you only see in color once you meet eyes with your soulmate. Rick’s used to seeing in black and white for his whole life. Imagine his confusion when his vision suddenly floods with color after seeing his Morty for the first time.

·A soulmate AU where you switch bodies with your soulmate for one day on your eighteenth birthday. Imagine Morty being so excited about it he literally marks off the dates on a calendar, only to go to sleep on the eve of his eighteenth and wake up in Rick’s body.

·A soulmate AU fic with a literal “fuck-or-die” plot. Rick and Morty touch for the first time, and it sets off their hormones that make them downright irresistible to each other. The show goes out of its way to point out how complementary these two are in almost every way. Why aren’t we taking advantage of a trope that can highlight this fact so well???
