Ship or not, John is Bob’s second closest Thunderbolt after Yelena:

Despite his initial animosity, John seemed genuinely concerned when Bob sacrificed himself to distract the special forces from pursuing the trio. He ignored Ava’s instructions to leave, waiting for Yelena to say.

Aside from Yelena, he was the only one who faced Bob’s dark essence before the final battle (Bob probably also saw what was going on in his mind).

Despite seeing John as a complete ass, Bob treated him far more gently in the fight than he did Bucky and Alexei, though John was just as aggressive as they were (attacking, shooting).

He was the one who encouraged Bob and who praised him.

He was also the first to rush to help Yelena restrain Bob, despite having been impaled by a piece of iron just a minute before.

When John learned that Bob’s abusive father used to call him “Bobby”, he stopped doing it.

Other little thing: John was the one who freed Bob and saw his capsule in its opened state.

okay im bonkers after seeing the dr odyssey gifsets youve reblogged and i need to ask. is the throuple in this show like. actual genuine throuple territory?? like is it written like that or is it written like a love triangle that would be good if it was a throuple?? based on the gifset where avery (i think thats the girl?) literally calls it a throuple i would assume the former but that feels too good to be true. and followup question is the show good and/or do you recommend it (i know these things are not one and the same)

hi yes i am so so so happy to be asked this question!!! i LOVE doctor odyssey. to your throuple question: Yes. they have slept together, there is a very strong emphasis on the relationship between all three of them as partners, and at this point in the show they are about 0.5 steps away from being official. i’d say that right now i am Dying to see the relationship between tristan and max get fleshed out more, because they have so much unexplored tension, but there’s a few episodes left and i have full faith that they’re going there!

as for your follow-up question. yes, i would say that this is a good show and i do recommend it. more than anything, it is a FUN show. the writing usually isn’t realistic, and the plots are off-the-wall insane, but it’s a show that recognizes exactly how campy it is and leans into it HARD, which makes it a real blast to watch. and when it’s good, it is Good—i think the threesome episode is genuinely one of the best examples of romantic tension that i have ever seen in my entire life. i do very strongly recommend it! i hope you enjoy if you do end up watching it. keep me updated!!
