it's been a long while since i've read the books but the Grisia description doesn't do him justice (iludon'tmurderme) about just how much of an unreliable narrator he is because the series spans 8 books, and he spends SO MANY BOOKS AND SO MANY CHAPTERS telling us he only cares for himself, for being the Pretty and Beautiful and Awesome Sun Knight and how He Gets Along With Some and Works Reluctantly With Others. because in this series everyone has to act like the second/third/fourth coming of their predecessors. and it's really so easy to fall for his narration lies because of the light-hearted way the story is written, and how he always plays up his own selfishness and how he manipulates and uses people for his own sake-- but he. really loves people. HE REALLY LOVES PEOPLE AND MAKES SO MANY STUPID SACRIFICES FOR THEM. he doesn't tell the reader his intentions, but instead we get glimpses of what other people think of him, and don't find out the reason behind his actions in the second half of the series, where he fools even his friends in addition to fooling the readers, until the climax of climax when he finally starts breaking

and even his sacrifices are like. him waving it off like NO BIG DEAL. not a sacrifice at all! he wanted this!!!! (this is a very big plot point so i don't want to spoil it)

also not to forget the time he was blinded and continued on as normal for 3+ chapters, not letting the readers know he was blind until his close friend called him out :')

Eugenides Propaganda:

the entire plot hinges on a detail he lets the reader (and every other character) assume is true. I don't want to spoil it because it's a really fun reveal but he is lying from the first second he appears on the page and you can't trust him to tell the full truth about ANYTHING related to himself and his goals. he mostly does it to keep his advantage and not have other characters be suspicious of him but it's just so fun when you realise he's been lying the whole time

Grisia Sun Propaganda:

Local dumbass and reckless idiot gets his memory sealed. Convinces everyone and himself that he needs to be sacrificed for the greater good. Attempts to convince everyone and himself that he is okay. (He is not okay.)

some summaries/translations from the kizuna meeting 14/01

returning temporarily just to post this, not in any order because I don’t have an order, character bias is mostly what I can see on my feed! there’s a lot more information out there but these are what I could find without digging much.

Red: It was a lot of fun writing the Case Files of Blues novels. We’re hoping to release the novelizations of S1, the movie, S2 this year. I want to publish the Las Vegas novel as soon as possible but, because of other work, it hasn’t gone smoothly. I’ll be happy if you can be patient with me.

Q: Will Totsuka be active in the Las Vegas novel? A: Reasonably. ( 結構勝っちゃいますよ ) Las Vegas starts off with Suoh, Kusanagi and Anna winning (from a raffle or something) and the three of them going there together. Totsuka and Yata are envious so they end up following after (paraphased)

Q: Where did the piercing from Totsuka that Mikoto had go? A: Pink-san has already made up her mind I think. It might turn up again somewhere?

Q: Will Totsuka-san show up in 7s? A: Yes. We want everyone to show up in it.

Q: What happened to Mikoto-san’s corpse and inheritance? A: We’ve already decided. Maybe sometime in the future we’ll find a time to show it. But we’re also considering cutting it. It seems to be decided so I personally can’t reveal any details about it, sorry. (Red)

Q: Is Munakata-san doing well? A: That person is always well. (Orange)

Q: Will there be an anime of Gakuen K? A: Nope. (Orange)

Q: Other than the director, are there any smokers in Scepter 4? A: Ah~ The question of whether there is or not...... If there is a possibility, it’s probably Akiyama or Benzai. (Orange)

Q: About Fushimi-san who goes out to play at the end of Season 2, do you think Fushimi-san is happy and having fun? A: Well, while Fushimi is hard to understand, but I think he’s happy in his own way. Q: From here on, will his life be happy? A: Yes, surely. (Red)

Unfortunately, Kamamoto and Shiro don’t have any additional cgs. And Saya still doesn’t understand Munakata dislikes anko.

Yata and Fushimi cameo in Munakata’s story as a one-line shop assistant and driver...of a horse-drawn carriage.

One of my favourite parts was definitely when she surprises him after he “kidnaps” her for a wedding ceremony:

Kuroh’s story was light and sweet, even after Neko and Shiro crashed their date. (Neko and Shiro plan/hope to stay with Kuroh and Saya after they marry--for the food.)
