hi i really hope this doesn't come off as a troll question cuz i mean it genuinely but what makes rpf much worse than profic things? like i guess profic is more geared towards accepting dark themes in fiction specifically but i never saw rpf as being sexual harassment towards the people it's about unless ur actively shoving it in their faces? sorry if this is weird i just usually don't see profic people who r also anti rpf lol
hi! ty for being respectful :3 (and if anyone gets mad/disagrees w what i'm abt to say please just. let it go bruh and block me 😭 i'm not changing this view)
okay, so think of yourself in this situation, or a family member. wether it's been sent to you or not, pornography made of you or family is incredibly creepy and without consent. people that have rpf made of them can easily stumble across it, and even if they don't, it doesn't make it okay in my opinion.
i'm okay with dark themes in fiction, as long as everything involved is fictional. when it comes to anything pornographic, consent should be involved. characters however, do not exist. so a fictional characters consent doesn't matter. but a real persons consent does.
i see it as sexual harassment (or at least a form of it) due to the fact it is without the persons permission. because most people do not like the idea of strangers writing rape fics etc of them or their family-
i think people have the mindset that "if they don't see, it doesn't matter." but it absolutely does. just like photoshopping or deepfaking someone onto porn matters. or having ai to use their voice for nsfw audio matters. it may not be to the same severity, but it's just an example i have right now.
wether the person themselves see it or not doesn't erase the fact they did not consent to said content. it's one thing to have fantasies and thoughts, or ramble about a youtuber crush with friends- but it's another to create pornography of complete strangers.
rpf can also be harmful when it comes to shipping friends (esp content creators) and making nsfw of them. it can damage relationships and make things incredibly uncomfortable and awkward knowing your fanbase may sexualize anything you two do online together.
also, irl kids get sexualized in rpf. that can definitely fuck up a kid if they come across it.
but this is just my take on it! proshippers with similar feels interact please! /nf :)
#I'm of the opinion that RPF can be made and enjoyed privately#because it's just putting your fantasies on paper (or computer)#but once you start publishing those fantasies publicly (like social media)#that's when it delves into sexual harassment#because while that person does not need to consent to you having thoughts#it's disrespectful to publicize media of them that sexualizes them#like it is very obviously sexual harassment to draw or photoshop lewd images of a stranger#and post them where the public and that person could see#and I think writing should be held to those same standards#even if they are a public figure. bc they are still a human with boundaries.#unless they consent or say they're okay with it then go crazy with the rpf

counterpoint: all of those relationships you outlined are problematic. you don’t want to get your hands dirty and spend hours and hours in the hot sun, so you use accumulated labor to rent a person to do it for you. i don’t even have to keep the metaphor going, you’re a smart lady. you can figure out where it goes. sex workers deserve the world btw
So. Just to be clear. "Sex workers deserve the world", but also, you shouldn't be allowed to hire a person for their labor? It's problematic to pay someone with skills and experience you lack to provide a good or service to you? Like. That's capitalism. That's society. I also think that it's a stupid fucking way to allocate resources, but it's what we're stuck with for now, and idk how you expect sex workers to make a living if it's problematic to pay them for their work. or am I like, massively misunderstanding you here?

Stop Scrolling. It's Plushie Time.
Grab one of your plushies, whoever happens to be closest to you right now.
Pause any and all media you've got going on right now.
Pick out a good makeout song (my personal choice is No Witness, by LP) It must be a minimum of 2 minutes long.
Hold your plushie in your arms, close your eyes, and start the song.
Until the song ends, you are not allowed to open your eyes, and you must make out with your plushie the whole time. Don't just kiss her on the lips, lets your lips trail down over her, guide her mouth down over your neck for her to nibble at, have fun with it. Maybe moan or whimper a little.
Once the song ends, open your eyes and tell your plushie how amazing she was, and thank her for making out with you, then cuddle with her a bit as you resume what you were doing before.
Alternatively, if you're both a bit hot and bothered after that, you two could always move things to the bedroom...
Either way, you may now resume scrolling. You are immune to this post until sunrise tomorrow.
If you do not have a plushie available, are not in a place where you can do this comfortably, or cannot complete this task for any other reason (including discomfort with the idea itself), you are also immune until sunrise, an immunity which may be repeated as many times as necessary.

They also force their way into proshipper spaces and pitch a fit about proshippers being there. FIMfiction, Wattpad, and AO3 were the biggest proship sites since their inception but nowadays you always have some anti bitching about how gross and icky the noncon tags are 🤷♀️
anyway i hate when antis are like "if you don't wanna get harassed stop being a proshipper!" as if WE'RE the issue in that equation
how hard is it to block people and/or ignore people? why is what someone likes in fiction such a problem for you that you have to tell others to jump, slit, etc.?
#nowadays darkship stuff is mostly banned on wattpad i think#but “kidnapped by 1D” and the like was a whole genre#shipping (usually teenage) girls with adult men who either bought or kidnappdd them#that is very darkfic!! y'all are just hypocrites!!

no way ppl are using ai to write ao3. what happened to being a tortured writer. what happened to blood on the page. what happened to the ao3 curse. people used to get run over, have their houses burned down, break their entire spines and they still put in the work to finish a chapter. fuck you, using ai. y’all are weak
#i saw a fic that sounded so interesting in description#only to click on it and the first line to say “generated by ai”#CURSE OF THE NILE 🦗🦗🌾
