I feel like my Tumblr is pretty much dead so let’s try and bring it back to life. Inspired by a sculpture by Taiji Taomote I went back to drawing more anatomy and skeletons again. Enjoyed it a great deal doing the sketch by hand and colouring it in with Photoshop. Will post the plain version later on. Thanks for watching guys!

Here's a list of silly human things about our boys: 1) Sometimes Sherlock gets dandruff and he HATES it. 2) John always carries gum because sometimes Sherlock forgets to brush his teeth. 3) John is really hairy, but his hair is so light that you can't really tell. Sherlock on the other hand isn't very hairy, but his hair is so dark that it stands out. Sometimes he gets so self conscious that he shaves everything. 4) John has big, loud, uncontrollable sneezes and has been known to drop things.

Hey!! Would you mind sharing what software you use to make gifs on?

Hi friend!

I was wondering about this ask! I rarely make gifs, have only made some for Sherlock, to write my own TL;DRs below.

But anyway, the program I use is instagiffer. It’s freeware, easy to operate, very detailed in the application, and has most of what I need.

For example:

this is the UI. you have many options, such as smoothness, quality, brightness, playback rate, captions, FX&filters.

the start time/length options are very detailed (0:00:00:0), so you can really get down to what matters to you. if you toggle around with smoothness and quality, you get higher quality gifs (duh), but the size will of course be bigger. turn up the brightness and you get good results, mostly, even if the quality is a bit lower. (i never needed to turn up smoothness/quality fully; a mix of both on the average was enough for me.)

the advantages:

1. you can add captions, choose from different fonts (so many!), manipulate the style (regular, bold, italics etc), the positioning, apply filters to the caption, determine start/end frames etc etc etc…

2. the filters are great! choose between “enhance, color fade, sepia tone, burnt corners, nashville, colorize, blur, border, black & white” etc…. you can also choose to freeze areas of the gif or add sounds

3. it lets you know if the size of the end product is too large for tumblr or other popular internet pages and gives you advice on how you can alter your gif to get it in a workable size!
