SideCar Sessions with Archie Powell & the Exports!

SideCarCHI surprised 1871 with local band Archie Powell & the Exports for #SideCarSessions and it was freakin' rad! The look on everyone's face was priceless. "Is there a band in the kitchen?" HA! Yes, yes there was!

Our driver James picked up the band in Wicker Park and drove them to the Merchandise Mart where they secretly set up their stage for the afternoon. Then, at 4PM, the band rocked out and got the entire floor dancing!

We love 1871!!

I have what some people may call a slight "gambling problem". Let me back up. A problem is when you lose, I don't do that. Preakness on Saturday. Take all that money you have stashed under your mattress and play it on Governor Charlie. If it seems like I always win, it's because I do (realistically? I win about 30% of the time.)

Esteban is my stylist. He's the best stylist in the City of Chicago. Michelangelo had paint, Jimi Hendrix had a guitar, Michael Jordan had a basketball, and Esteban has a pair of scissors. I don't know the exact address all I know is it's in between Drummond and Schubert on the East side of Clark. When you get out of your Sidecar look for the genius, that's Esteban, he'll cut your hair better than it's ever been cut

You guys better let me eat my burrito in the car. I eat all my meals in my car, calories don't count in the car, that's how I stay diesel, it's almost boating season after all

Ryan Kolak is kind of a big deal. You see, behind his flowing locks and 6'2 frame is a really sweet, humble and mega smart guy. Ryan was the Team Lead for the Narwhal API which helped Obama get re-elected in 2012. Ryan worked day and night for over a year to work on this "super secret" project that the Democrats rolled out, with a bang.

After the election Ryan promised himself a year off of travel, adventures and mentoring start-ups. Paying homage to his promise of travel, Ryan went to SF and that's when he fell in love with SideCar and the social cohesion ridesharing can have on a community. "I meet the most inspiring and fun people while offering my empty seats with SideCar. It has really brought a special serendipity into my life," said Kolak.

We are so excited to have Ryan in our #SideCarCHI community!

I will definitely be grubbing at this adorable brunch spot this weekend. They have the best corned beef hash in the city AND Grateful Dead bootlegs jamming on the hi fi. If you feel like vegging out try the Chick Pea Hash. So good.
