SUNFLOWER: AN UNREQUITED LOVE I

Pulled the trigger so easily

You didn’t even hesitate

It’s like you didn’t even know

Do you? My lovely?

Do you know,

The bullet, it sits in my heart

Like a burden

Like a poisonous dart

It eats me away

Slowly, but surely it does

So I toss and turn all night

Without creating a fuss

Because I can’t speak,

Can’t pour a single syllable

About the pain that I feel

For they’ll know,

And I’m a monster,

A monster you shot

With your soft hands.

The bullet- it was a seed

A seed you planted

Little sunflower seeds,

And at night they grow,
