13 Reasons Why

Now I know this show isn’t a hidden gem and to be exact it were one of the most watched and considered best series on Netflix at the time, but I wanted to do a blog on it. This post will be slightly different than my other post because I will be writing my opinion on the show but also how society is taking it. The goal for the show by the creators was to spread awareness of bullying and to be wiser on how you act and speak because you never know the effect you might have on someone. It also has brought the conversation of bullying in the 21st century and suicide to light allowing hopefully the prevention of anyone committing this sad incident. Another positive aspect of the show is the audience that suffers the same emotions and events as Hannah are realizing and are reaching out. There has been an increase in suicide hotlines which are a significant step forward. These messages are seen throughout the show and are being received from the audience, but it has brought up negative opinions as well. A big issue is the show puts the blame on other people and her depression might be caused by the others but it is her facing a mental illness, and the show doesn’t bring up the fact that most suicides are due to having a mental illness.

Another issue that fans were upset about the show is it romanticizes the idea of suicide, continuously mental health organizations have said that the show handles the depiction of her suicide incorrectly and it glamorous it. They make it seem that when you kill yourself you will have a decorated locker, pep rally, selfies taken with your locker, packages, and tapes which are unrealistic and this could create a contagious trend for copycat suicides. Also, a big message in the show is that the bully or sinner will change and learn from their mistakes, but this is misguided for those who are possibly interested in suicide. Another issue is that the show could trigger others, but others are coming back stating that the show does warn you and if you do get triggered they advise not to watch. The other side thinks that her suicide looked so scary that it would scare people from killing themselves which is an important message. There will always be individuals who love and don’t favor the show, but I recommend to watch it and gain your opinion on it.

Riverdale

Riverdale is a show that came out on tv this January and is just starting its second season on live TV. It’s a crime, drama, and mystery series that has an almost 8 out of 10 rating. The creator of the show is Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa who is famous for his other popular shows and movies like the hit series Glee and the movie Carrie. He did a wonderful job at creating the characters and how he would use the characters to connect to people. The show is based around a high school and more specific, small group of friends, enemies, and I’ve interests. Each character has a story about their life and family that makes them them how they are but this can also be a negative concept. We are raised by our parents and are influenced by their actions in our personal lives. In Riverdale every character from rich to poor, old to young, and ugly to pretty has a hard life or is faced with challenging choices because of their parents. The message behind this series for me is that parents can sadly ruin their kids life. This technique, that everyone has a hard life really makes you grow attach with the characters because even though they do stupid and cruel stuff you can’t get angry because you feel bad for them. Through the show you can see the growth in the characters by surrounding themselves with a good group of friends and by seeing them deal with one of their peers getting murder and finding the killer. Another aspect I enjoy with this show is that throughout the show you learn about the characters and about the killer making it very intriguing and hard to stop watching. I enjoy this type or concept because it keeps the audience guessing who’s the murder is and what is going on with everyone. The show also brings you on a crazy roller coaster of emotions, I cried, laughed, expressed joy, anger, and determined to find the answers. Also the show also has an attractive casting which makes the show even more interesting and exciting to watch. Sense the show is mostly about teenagers it made it very relatable and you experience how these teenagers grow by falling in love, making mistakes, and solving problems. I recommend this show to anyone but especially to teenagers and parents because it’s relatable to the kids as I said before but I think it would also be useful to bring awareness to the issue that you as a parent can mess your child’s life.

Continuum

Continuum is a four season show that aired from 2012 to 2015. It is an action, Sci-fi, and thriller and each episode is 45 minutes. The show starts off in the year 2077, so it's a futuristic show, but it's done well. The technological advances are impressive and aren't too exaggerated, so it's realistic to see the evolution of technology. The world in 2077 is chaotic because the world is ruled by corporations, so there isn't a lot of freedom, and there are human right issues, so there's war between the companies and their supporters and the rebellions. This was interesting to see because many can say that corporations are slowly starting to rule our world by controlling water, land, people, and using the money to change laws and decisions their way so this shows futuristic problems right be sooner than the producers thought. But the focus of the show is this lady named Kiera, who she is a protector which is a cop for the corporations and her family. After an enormous terrorist attack that killed thousands and destroyed acres, they were able to capture the masterminds of the disaster. The criminals were sentenced to death, so Kiera was chosen to be a protector in their execution, but the criminals had other plans. The guards came and were supposed to prepare them for their death but were giving each criminal a piece to this device that when was activated connected to make a circle and became a time traveler device. Kiera noticing something wasn’t right ran toward the criminals and was teleported back in time with them. They all arrive in 2016 and Kiera is determined to get back home in 2077 to her family, but she has to stop these criminals first because she might not be going back to the same 2077 that she left if they change the future. Since they went back to a time that people could still be alive, Kiera meets people that aren't famous then but end up doing great things in 2077. An example is her communication device in her head that allowed her to talk in 2077 is allowing her to communicate to a young boy who is a genius with technology which creates some of the advance and amazing technology in the future. This boy named Alec helps Kiera track down the criminals and helps transition her to 2016 daily life. I enjoyed this show because it's not a show of good and bad or black and white. It's up to you to decide who the antagonists and protagonists are. It's your choice to decide if the criminals/rebellions are the good guys or if Kiera the protector is. I like how this creates a different experience for everyone because people all will have different opinions on what's best. I recommend everyone to watch this series so you can decide which side you think is right.

The show also has some relatable humor which makes it ten times better.

Rosewood

Rosewood is a two season show that started in 2015 but only the first season is on netflix because the second season just ended. The show hasn't won any awards but it's been nominated for three awards; Best Song/Recording Created for Television in 2017 for the song “Does she Love”, Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series for Morris Chestnut who plays Rosy in 2016, and lastly Jaina Lee Ortiz who plays Vinne was nominated in 2016 for best Actress. The show is a new and exciting so catch up on netflix. It is a crime, drama, and mystery show that reminders me of the show Bones. Bones is a famous crime, drama, and mystery show too that has been on for years. Rosewood is very similar to Bones because both shows have a doctor who examines the dead and an officer who uses the doctors information on the victim's death to find the killer. In the show Rosewood I love all the characters and how great they are at portraying their roles. Every character has an interesting back story and their family drama or personal drama always seems to come to light through the show. Also there is the chemistry between the two main characters yet they still haven't made a move which is similar to the two main characters in Bones. The main character known as Dr. Rosewood is the best private pathologist in Miami,who has a rare heart condition that could kill him at any moment that fuels his lust for life and gives him a second opinion when friends or family of the deceased are not satisfied with official police findings. His state-of-the-art laboratory equipment and quick wit are his tools to solve every case. He also relies and depends on his assisant yet also his sister Pippy and her brilliant girlfriend TMI. He also works with the detective Annalise Villa, who doesn't always go strictly by the book, to see the case to its conclusion. Rosy and Villa haven't ever made a move that was more than friends but it's clear there is chemistry between them. The show also has a lot of comedy even though it's about death and murders which I appreciate because it lightens the mood in the show. The show has a nice layout because the show isn't to scary or too sad making it interesting and intriguing. I recommend to everyone to go watch it now on netflix so you're caught up for the second season.

Tales by Light is a new Netflix original series and its nothing like the other shows on my blog. I said I wanted to watch different types of shows year and this series is a new one. It's all about photography and the compelling story behind a breathtaking image. Every episode is a new photographer and their journey around the world pushing their limits with their craft of photography. It is two seasons, and every episode is 23 minutes, so it's a nice and quick watch. The show is produced incredibly with great filming techniques and equipment. Every shot and scene in an episode are clear, good lighting, and great angle. This shows quality and layout is beyond any other show I've seen. The format of each episode is nice because you get interviews throughout of the photographer explaining their techniques, process, interested in a shot, and everything that happens behind that image captured. Then the rest of the show is footage of the photographer getting the shot and the process and adventure of the journey for the perfect picture. For example, the first episode is called “Submerged” and like the title indicates it was a trip under the sea and near the ocean where we follow a photographer's dream shots of humpback whales mating, a seventy-year-old biplane wreck, and an active volcano all in Tonga and New Guinea. The mastermind behind these shots was the Australian marine photographer, Darren Jew.

Like this one every photographer has this dream shot, they want to capture or a few images to seized, so the episode is their story of accomplishing it and them telling their experience. The series is very diverse with the different type of photographers passions of the photographer which makes each episode so unique and captivating. By watching I've learned new fields of the photographer like intrepid adventure sports photography and different approach to a topic photographer. These two were the most interesting topics and were new to me. The sports one is capturing amazing in-action shots of crazy games being performed that make the express adventure, danger, and the passion to break out of your comfort points. The other is having a topic, like death or life, and approaching it from another angle and capturing images that portray their intake. This type of photographer for me was so incredible and have fascinated my interested in this field of an image. This show gives the inside truth of photographer and how there's a story to every image. If you are interested in the photographer or just admire it, this is a show you should check out, but if you're not, it's still a neat series that will keep you entertained.

Frequency

Frequency is a one season show that came out in late 2016. It is a fantasy, drama, and mystery series. The creator of the show is Jeremy Carver, and you might know him because he is also the creator of the hit show Supernatural. In frequency, there is a female police detective who discovers she can communicate to her father through a ham radio, despite the fact her father died in 1996 and its year 2016. They use this communication system to solve mysteries and capture the Nightingale which is a serial murder. It first starts off with the main girl, Ray Sullivan, her boyfriend randomly fixes the ham radio her father used to have, but he was killed in his undercover mission that made him look like he became a dirty cop. Due to thinking her dad was a bad cop she got mad that her boyfriend was messing with it and told him to stop and leave it alone. Later that night Raimy notices it turn on, so she goes and checks it out. Raimy starts talking to this male that she soon figures out is her father who is talking to her from 1996. Raimy learns that her father wasn't a rogue cop but set up, and she helps him not get murdered by telling him how he dies, when, and where. Since she saved her father, that event changed history, and it changed it for the worst. Since her father was saved her mother and her went to visit her and that when a new serial killer saw her and made her his soon to be a victim. With this change in 2016, she now had lost her mother a few months after her dad was supposed to die and lost her boyfriend/ future fiancé because her mother introduced them, so she had lost everything. Raimy and her father, Frank, decide to work together to find the nightingale before he kills her mother and Frank's wife, Julie. Throughout the show, you learn more and more about the serial killer and how he justifies his killings. It is a very creepy but fascinatingly interesting to know about serial killers and how they think. Also, you fall in love with the characters and start to feel their emotions and understand where they are all coming from. I recommend you watch this show because of its creepy yet grasping concept.

OA

OA is a Netflix original that came out with its first and so far the only season in 2016. The show is a drama, fantasy, and mystery series that's like no other show or movie out there. The main character is a girl named Prairie that was blind and went missing for seven years. She all of a sudden was found and is in her twenties and can see. Many thought that she was a miracle, but so they notice she might be dangerous. Prairie is an angel but not like we imagine, when we die we go somewhere, and if you're an angel, you don’t just die. Angels are the people that can die and come back to life because they aren't ready to leave the world. There is a lady that lives in a different universe that controls the angels and death.

(As you can see here this is where Prairie would go after she dyed yet before she was alive again. Its this other universe or something.) 

This scientist was fascinated with knowing what happened after death and thought that the people who had near-death experiences died and came back, so he wanted to research them. That's where Prairie was; she was kidnapped by him and was experimented on and used for research. She wasn't the only one that he had contained, and over time they learned these moves that they would express physical yet also putting a lot of mentally and emotion in these moves and they were in a way their magic power.

They were able to save one of they friends that were also captured by working together and performing these moves kind of like dancing for hours. They worked together to try and escape yet every attempt failed until they thought they could use these steps to escape this reality or universe since Prairie and she friends knew they would never be able to escape. The man noticed this and let Prairie go, but she had created a family with the people she was kidnapped with and fell in love with one of them so when she went home seemed people who she thought were angels. She told them her story and was teaching them the moves to help her save her friend hopefully. There is a lot of drama with all the characters that delay this mission to save her friends, but Prairie doesn't give up. The show is filmed or is designed in flashbacks, so you see how she is free and all that life and then it will flash back to her life being captured for seven years when she tells her stories to her new friends. This show is absorbing and makes you think because it is such a different concept. You really should watch to be able to truly understand its uniqueness and appreciate its new yet great idea.

The Discovery

The Discovery is a Netflix original movie that just came out in 2017. We all wonder what happens after death and if there is an afterlife and this film focuses on a theory about possibly you going somewhere after death. The scientist, Thomas Harbor used a machine to prove that when we die our conscious leaves our body and goes elsewhere by discovering radio waves leaving your corpus. This news caused chaos all around the world and made suicide numbers skyrocket. People were so happy knowing they could go somewhere else that they gave up on the world they were in. Thomas’s son, Jason, is very against his father's work and it destroys him to think that he in his father's studies are at fault for all the suicides. Will is a neurologist so him in his father decided to work together to see if there was more after death to fill their gap about their mothers, wife's death. Once Thomas announced they discovery and all the suicides increased Will was ashamed and thought the only way to end these killings his to talk to his father about ending his work.  But his father was so driven to figure out where conscious leave after death because he needs to know where his wife went since she killed herself because of him, so he needs this closure. Will returns home hoping to stop his father and change the amounts of suicide attempts. On his journey home he meets a girl that he becomes close to, and once they reach the island they go their separate paths, and Will goes back to his father's living conditions for victims of failed suicide attempts. While he is strolling the backyard of the house, he sees from a distance the girl he met named Isla trying to drown herself in the ocean. Will runs and saves her life and takes her to his father's house, and they continue to grow their relationship and discuss their ideas on an afterlife. Will discover the first proof of an afterlife after trying to stop the machine and he shows Isla, they wanted to keep it a secret until they figured out what is was. They thought it could just be memories, but they then discover that you go to an alternate version of your life. They eventually share this news with his father and another brother, and they all decide they need to destroy the machine and stop their work. The end of the movie is very confusing but fascinating, so you need to watch and understand that for yourself. The movie was so intriguing, and I believe everyone should watch it because it opens your eyes. The directors did a fantastic job with the concept because death it the most asked question among us and they were brilliant to try and answer this controversial question in their eyes.

Jericho

Jericho is a two season series that was aired from 2006-2008. It only has thirty episodes because the second season is short. It is an action, drama, and mystery shows that always keeps you guessing. Jericho is a little city in Kansas that the show focuses on during the sudden bombing of the nation. The show follows a family called the greens that are an important family in their small town. The show is their experience after the bombing and how to survive on their own and gaining knowledge on the incident and if help is on the way. There is always drama and action through the show. They are always faced with a problem either being issues on survival or rivaling towns. Also during the show, you slowly learn more and more and learn that the incident goes deeper and arises deeper problems. The show was created in 2006, so you can see in some parts that the technology they had for television was dated by overall the show is well made. An example would be at one point they were driving on a long road, and it was clear that it was a green screen, but that was only once where it was very obvious. There are way too many main characters to list but the ones that are in almost every scene are Jake Green and Robert Hawkins they are both seen the most, and they were in all thirty episodes. All the characters did fantastic jobs portraying their roles and showing emotion since if this were real, it would be a very impactful situation. They are also great love connections and heartbreaks through the show that make it enjoyable. The show does go through its sad moments that make you cry, but you also experience great joy and sadly sometimes even fear, so it is an emotional rollercoaster series. The show never has a boring moment you are always kept interested, and it is very easy to follow. Since it's one of those shows that slowly reveals answers, it's well done and doesn't move too fast or drastic. They planned out the show well and gave it an excellent plot. You fall in love with the small town and all the characters, and it's morose to see the show end. If you are on spring break or just want to start a new series, I would give this show a try.

The 100

The 100 is a three season show on Netflix, but it’s currently in its fourth season on live TV. The show was created in 2014 by Jason Rothenberg and it a five stared series. The show starts in space on a space ship called the Arc. The spaceship was sent into space with limited room only for particular people because the world was falling apart. Overpopulation led to war and war led to nuclear war worldwide. The world was destroyed and to radioactive to live. The nations all worked together to send up the last of humanity to keep our species alive. The Arc worked for many years, but it’s running out of food, water, oxygen, space, and every resource needed to survive. To keep humans alive, the leaders on the ship decided the only way we can survive is to see if the world is livable. Since this is such a big risk, they choose to send their 100 prisoners that are young adults. These kids go through many obstacles when they land that change them forever. Humans did survive on earth, and there are so many groups that compete against each other since they survived in different ways. There is the grounders which are a huge group of savage people that have survived on the ground through the whole disaster. Then there is the mountain men which is a medium size group that survived the attack and radiation by living in an underground facility. These groups don't get along, for the mountain men to survive they have to end up killing the grounders by draining their blood and circulating it in their body. It's very hard for the people from the Arc who are known as the sky people to create allies, and it was even more challenging when their fellow citizens from the Arc land on earth. The prisoners that landed already made order and laws and them fellow leaders come thinking they rule, so the clashing of power is seen through the show for all the people. Through the show, there is constant conflict, drama, and love. You meet so many new characters and lose so many characters. It's a roller coaster of emotions type of show. So watch it now on Netflix so you can catch up and watch the new season. You will fall in love with the characters, plot, and love stories.

Revolution

Do we depend on electricity a little too much? Well, this show makes you wonder if all the power went out would we survive? Revolution is a two season series that came out in 2012 and lasted till 2014. The show is an action, adventure and drama series that always keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat. The show is about how one day all the power went out and how people are surviving, creating governments, and why the power went out and can it ever be put back on. The show focus on one family that had a part in turning the power off and how they survive and try to fix the world. The family the show follows is the Matheson’s, there is a man named Ben with his wife named Rachel, and their two kids Charlie and Danny. There is also Ben’s brother named Miles. Ben and Rachel were working on the program and virus that could turn off power, but they never planned it to be used to turn off all the power. It was designed to be used as a weapon in the war to turn off enemy's power, but it went wrong, and the virus kept multiplying affecting the world. The show follows this family fifteen after the blackout, but there is constantly flashbacks that inform the audience of events. At this time Charlie and Danny are young adults living in a small town with their father who is trying to keep hidden, so governments don't try to use him to turn the power on for themselves. Their mother's life and whereabouts are unknown, and their uncle is living in Chicago also hiding because he started the Monroe Republic with his best friend, Bass but left it and is now wanted for being a traitor. The show is constantly filled with conflict, and there is always a big mission they are trying to achieve. The mission does change throughout the story, and little issues come up, but there is constantly a plan. The show does bring in a lot of character through the show, but the show also has a lot of deaths. The characters also do a phenomenal job at portraying their roles in certain situations. I enjoyed this show because I love science and it has its science aspects about how the power went out, and I love watching shows that show a different angle of living especially due to an incident. I recommend that everyone should watch this show because it got canceled after its second season and it deserves more attention and appreciation.

The Fundamentals of Caring

  The Fundamentals of Caring is a Netflix original movie that came out in June of 2016. It's a comedy, drama movie that has the main characters being Craig Roberts, Paul Rudd, and Selena Gomez. Craig has been in Submarine, 22nd Jump Street, and The Neighbors, so he is a good actor. Paul Rudd is a very well known actor that has performed many significant roles. Then we have Selena Gomez is known for being a singer and performer but I thought she did an excellent job of being an actress. You might also know her from the kid show Wizards of Waverly Place. These actors were so well picked, and I don’t think any other actors could have played their roles better. Craig who plays an angry teen named Trevor was diagnosed at the age of three, and his dad left him and his mom. To survive the mom hires caregivers to take care of her son will she works and makes a living. Paul Rudd who plays Ben goes through a huge loss in his life that makes him turn to being a caregiver. He takes one class in caregiving and gets his first clinic, Trevor. Trevor is a difficult client that has an angry sense of humor that is bored and mad at life. Ben sees this and tries to find a way to give Trevor a memorable experience. Trevor loves learning about America's lamest roadside attractions, and Ben comes up with the idea of going on a road trip seeing all these weird spots. On their journey, they get to know each other and pick up a few hitchhikers on the way. They run into Selena Gomez first who plays the character Dot who is a young adult that just left home and is trying to travel to a big city. Trevor finds her very attractive, so they decided to drive her to their last spot which is on her way to her destination to give Trevor some time with a girl. There the last friend they meet is a young adult around mid-twenties who is very pregnant and is on her way to the family. Her car broke down, and she had no help, so they volunteer to give her a ride to her family's house since it's on their way. This movie opens your eyes to so many different lives and all the challenges people go through. It's also very well made and is so fun. I would recommend this movie to anyone. It's one of my favorite movies, and I believe it should be a little more appreciated.

This is an everyday life for Trever; sitting watching TV, eating his same daily breakfast, and trying to think of the dumbest things to say to annoy his caregiver Ben.

Coin Heist

The movie Coin Heist came out in early January of 2017 as a Netflix Original. The movie is an hour and a half long and is a drama, crime, and action movie. The film is based on a Philadelphia prep school that recently had their principal arrested because he was fixing the school and creating all these opportunities when the school had no money. The police finally caught along, and now the school is going downhill because they have no money. All the clubs, dances, and classroom funding is gone, and most likely the school will be closing soon due to absolutely zero money. Four students decide to take a risk and try to fix their school. They choose to risk everything for this almost impossible plan to steal money from the U.S. mint that's in their town. These four unlikely allies join sides due to each other's differences and skills. You have the hacker, the slacker, the athlete, and the perfect student. Throughout the movie these students struggle with how the school is affecting their lives, trying to pull off this mission, and all getting along. These so different students who would have never gotten to know each other all become friends, and some relations even go farther than just being friends. I enjoyed this movie because the way they pulled off the plan was so fascinating yet realistic like all the elements in their plan made sense and worked. The project does go south at the end, but these smart teens found a way to talk their way out of it and save their school. This movie is very similar to other teen movies, but I still found it enjoyable and entertaining. Stealing is horrible, but in this film, it didn't seem so bad, and they technically didn't steal anything they created something, so that was interesting to see. They made a new coin so they could sell it as a collectible and make hopefully $10 million to save their school. Most of the characters were new actors except one. If you watched Pretty Little Liars the actress that plays Alison, Sasha Pieterse, is one of the teens in the movie and she did well at portraying her character. All the other actors in the show I thought did great as well in performing their roles, but I have never seen them in any other movies or shows. Overall I was fascinated with the concept and how the characters developed through the show, so I recommend to watch this film next time when you are in need of a movie to watch on Netflix.

This is Dakota or also know as Alisson in the hit show, Pretty Little Liars. She is my favorite character because of her determination and she is sort of the leader even though she didn't come up with it.

The Invasion

The movie Invasion came out in 2007 and was based on a book. The book was called The Body Snatchers, by Jack Finney. The movie is about how an alien disease is spreading around the world that takes over the body of his host. The person has all his memories, but they are a different person. The aliens reproduce by splitting individuals with the disease, and then you become one when you go to REM sleep. The main character is named Carol who is a Washington Psychiatrist who starts to notice the change in people and tries to keep her and her son safe while trying to understand this epidemic. She drops her son off at her ex-husband's house which is his father in the beginning, and the primary mission is to find her son in the first part of the movie. What she doesn't know is that her husband was one of the first to get infected. When she finally finds her son, she notices that her son, Oliver, is immune to the disease. Carol and her few friends that are doctors realize it's because he had chickenpox as a baby and this condition makes it impossible for the alien disease to take over and control your brain. Sadly when she is looking for her on her ex-husband spits the disease in her face, so she has the disease, but you have to go into REM sleep to activate it. Through the end of the movie, she struggles to stay awake, protect her kid, and also possibly find a cure for humanity. In the end, she was able to save humankind, and everyone who was affected couldn't remember any part of it because their mind was in conscious while the alien disease took over. This movie is so fascinating because it's crazy to see how these aliens took over and were controlling life. If you were not affected, then you had to pretend to be like them to stay yourself. The aliens act like robots they don't show emotion, and their eyes look so cold or dead. An alien creature is a fascinating form of life because since they have no emotion and are all in a way connected there is no wars, murders, or assaults. I enjoyed how this movie showed a different point of view of aliens because in most movies or shows they are these creepy creatures, but in this film, it's an unknown disease, not a figure.

iBoy

iBoy is a Netflix original that came out this year on January 27, so it's a very new movie. The movie is an action, crime, and science fiction movie that was directed by Adam Randall. The film is based in an impoverished community filled with gang issues in London, so every character has an accent which I enjoyed. The main character is a teenager boy named Tom who tries to stay clear of the gang life and focus on school. He has a crush on this girl named Lucy and one night she invites him over to study. When Tom arrives, he notices the door is open, so he makes his way inside and sees that Lucy's brother is on the ground beat up and hears voices in the back coming from Lucy's room. As he slowly makes his way towards her room he gets confronted by five guys all covered up that came out of Lucy's room. He notices one of the guys has a gun, so he darts out of the apartment and starts running away while at the same time he is trying to call the cops. One of the gang members shoots Tom, and the scene ends with him falling to the ground and then switches to him in the hospital. After waking up from a coma, the doctors tell him that the bullet hit his phone and the side of his heading was making the phone explode and that some of his devices fragments get lodged in his brain. The doctors let him know that they couldn't get all the loose pieces out safely and that the remaindering piece will just have to stay in. That's why the movie is called iBoy because he soon realizes he can control technology with his brain due to the phone fragments that the doctors couldn't remove. Since he has these super powers, he uses them to find the criminals that hurt Lucy. Through his mission, he realizes that the order to raid Lucy's house goes far up in the command in the gang, so he works to take down the whole gang and hopefully make his home in London a safe place again. He knows the intruders hurt Lucy, but you don't find out until the end what went on. You can infer that they probably raped her due to her fear of leaving her house and running into men especially the group of guys her age that committed the crime to her. The movie was fascinating and impressive to see how he could control every part of technology. Of course, this movie is unrealistic because I am pretty sure surgeons could have gotten the phone fragments out and phone parts wouldn't be able to work in your brain, but it was a smart idea and an entertaining movie.
