Hey everyone ! Long time no see. So, I'm going to be honest here, though it's not a surprise to anyone. This blog IS on hiatus. While I have a DEEP, DEEP love for Sigma still, I'm having a really hard time with the direction BSD has chosen to go, much in the same way I am with OnS. I really do want to keep writing him, I've poured YEARS into developing him. But I'm not sure how I'd go canon divergent per se in terms of reworking the canon. I may pop in from time to time to post colorings or edits I make, I know people like the fyoma/fyosig & decay trio edits I make. i also have written fanfics on ao3 . Maybe I'll be able to come back. I'll still periodically check in here if you want to send me questions, either as the mun or for Sigma to answer! Maybe I'll throw a prompt out here or there to see if I can get my writing back. Because I STILL adore Sigma to pieces, and if people ARE still interested in interacting with him, I'd love to do so. But it seems a lot of my mutuals have also left months ago ( except for a handful and to you i send all my love! most of you also follow my multimuse. ) So I'm trying to figure out what I want to do. While I've always loved all my blogs, this blog, Sigma, was sort of a happy space.

This all said, I want to say thank you to everyone. I hope this isn't my last goodbye, I hope I DO figure out what to do and how. Like I said, still planning to pop in now and then. But thank you to everyone, those who are still here and those who have left long ago. Thank you to the anons who surprise me, thank you to the personals who've sent questions and shared enthusiasm. Thank you to all my roleplayer partners, my silent observers, whoever you may be. Thank you for being on this blog and supporting me, whether you've been here since 2019 or just recently. All your love and support has meant the world. Thank you each and every one of you. Because I've been coloring his panels since 2019 and i refuse to stop now. Also i like mine more personally. But yeah no its just i like mine more ( a personal opinion i'm not saying anyone has to agree) and i've put so much energy into coloring every panel.

   He is awake, and he is no freer for it. Dull grey eyes turn to stare at the government official whose sat waiting like a hawk over the green fields in spring just waiting for the ideal prey. ( It is all the more reason the angel had curated the aerial casino into a space where everyone felt like they were in Olympus, high above the clouds. He has experience suffering he would wish on no other. ) 

   Fyodor’s information has prepared him plenty well.

   Sigma’s gaze stops wandering to focus on Ango again. “ What do you expect me to say? “ He raises an eyebrow slightly. Lie. He could probably guess what was wanted. “ I only knew Fyodor and Nikolai well. The other two I barely knew. “ Truth. “ Fyodor saved me, and they both helped me. For that I am grateful to them. “  It hurts, he wants to cry and he wants to throttle that clown at the same time. If it wasn’t for Nikolai, then he wouldn’t be in this situation. One way or another. Although, if he’d listened to Fyodor and had fled when the Hunting Dogs appeared, he wouldn’t have been in this situation either. Rather poetic, to be one’s own destruction. 

   Although now he had knowledge everyone was after. Just the thought of it all though causes a sharp pain in his head and evokes a wince he can’t hide.  

   “ It all went to hell. Why bother? “ He’s sick of being a tool and he’s sick of how Nikolai almost made all those years of progress come undone by that act of once again using him for his ability like everyone else – except Fyodor who’d made a genuine trade. Ironic that it was Dazai who stopped his fall into despair. But now he’s just tired.

Make the lounge’s hired applauders spread word of what just happened. It will help the casino’s reputation.

so much is said about Sigma and what he’s doing in this single panel. First of all, he’s HIRING people who applaud for casino guests, albeit many of them are probably workers or patrons themselves. But he INTENTIONALLY makes sure that there are hired applauders in gambling spaces. Why? For multiple reasons.     1) People like praise. When people are being praised/applauded, they’re likely to try harder.     2) Cheer mentality - they will get caught up in the praise and success and not realize its a trap. It’s like when you cheer on a toddler. Toddlers will see what they’re doing and repeat it. Adults AREN’T that different. If the crowd likes what someone is doing, the person will likely keep doing it. They’ll keep playing, keep making the moves, and get caught up in the ‘good feelings’ that the applauding/cheering causes that they’ll do it, or play more even AFTER they win a huge amount of money (and likely end up losing a lot of it all over again)

But then the ‘spread word’.  Sigma is INTENTIONLLY letting people win because it skews perception. He makes most of the money back because people tend to blow it all in the throws of greed, either the same night, or long term patronage he’ll make more. Temporary loss for long term gain. But it also draws people in more. If people hear they have a good chance of winning, people are more likely to go there to play. 

Here’s the REAL gem, the true genius of Sigma’s ploy. The man won through fault of the casino. Or so it would seem to people at least. As Sigma said to his employee, HE scraped it. The card was PERFECTLY FINE, but Sigma intentionally ruined it for this moment to deal the man cards himself. What does this mean? People are going to TRUST Sigma more and TRUST the casino more. What casino would ruin their own card? Most people think of casinos as AGAINST the players and guests. But the fact Sigma pointed out an error that the GUEST hadn’t even noticed AND that it was ultimately worth millions when Sigma redealt the hand? Sigma could have said nothing and the casino would’ve kept the money. But he spoke up, and now the story is being spread. People are going to TRUST the aerial casino, they’re going to trust SIGMA, and they’re likely going to be BLIND to the real matters. They’ll be ARROGANT thinking they can fool the casino and look for flaws, unaware that they’re flies caught in Sigma’s trap.

LOYALTY

Sigma is an INCREDIBLY resilient and loyal person once you gain his loyalty. More so to particular PEOPLE rather than groups, although he isn’t one who will easily abandon or turn on a group. It’s just that he is more willing to leave a group than leave specific people. But he is so, so painfully loyal. He isn’t one to easily be shaken or effected by what other people say when it’s someone he is close to and cares deeply for. He isn’t someone who rumors can get at, and he can endure a LOT. After all, the majority of his beginning years was filled with cruelty and suffering. As the saying goes, when you’ve never been fed love, you learn to lick it off the edge of a knife. He can handle so much and asks for SO LITTLE in return. Just show or tell him you care sometimes. That’s all he needs, and I don’t mean this just romantically, but platonically as well. Even if you’ve done horrific things, he’ll still be there. (After all, our dear angel doesn’t have clean hands himself.) 

It’s so sweet, and so painful. He will endure the fires of hell and torture of the Furies for those he cares about. You can torture him, he will not turn on them. It takes a LOT to push him to break that loyalty - and that almost always has be by the person he’s loyal to himself. Them turning out to just be using him, not caring anymore, that sort of thing. And even in then, it’d deeply hurt SIgma, he GRIEVES before he experiences anything else. But short of that? His loyalty is SO strong. Even if you temporarily hurt him, if you explain it later that there was a good reason, he can and will forgive easily if he already has a strong sense of loyalty to you. It might have cracked or been wounded, but it quickly can repair itself with him. He WANTS to trust, he WANTS to believe, he WANTS to support those he’s loyal to. So he gives his everything into his relationships. He pours his heart and soul into those bonds he creates with people.

Sigma doesn’t give his loyalty easily after everything which is WHY he puts so much into those loyalty ties he makes. He gave it CONCERNINGLY EASILY to Fyodor and Nikolai, because they were the first people who he met who treated him like a PERSON. Yes, he made a deal wit Fyodor. But he was spoken to as an equal and the deal was honored. Sigma latched onto that fact he was treated as a person by them, he spent time with them, and became very loyal to them. He was also highly INFLUENCED by them, like being wary of the detectives, the hunting dogs, having that double faced nature - Sigma, the beloved casino manager that the clients know, and Sigma the decay of angels member who will do whatever he needs to. He learned not to trust as easily, but that doesn’t mean he CAN’T form those bonds. It just takes more time.

Sigma’s LOYALTY also doesn’t equal to his TRUTHFULNESS. He will do whatever is best for those he is loyal to or most things they ask. Obviously its easier with other Decay of Angel members because they ALREADY know who he is (both sides) so he doesn’t need to hide himself. But for friendships or relationships with people OUTSIDE of it, he can still be LOYAL, he can still CARE, but it doesn’t mean he’ll share everything. Like he won’t share he’s a member of the Decay of Angels till the SKyfall arc events obviously unfold. He IS overall very truthful and honest, he doesn’t want to deceive those he cares about, and he’s loyal. But he WILL omit certain matters like his allegiance.

TLDR: Sigma is an EXTREMELY loyal person whose loyalty can almost only be shattered by the person he holds it to, but for NON-DOA members, it doesn’t equal him always telling the truth.

He knows exactly who the redhead in front of him is thanks to Fyodor's information. But the plan isn't yet into motion which means no groups are an enemy of the aerial casino. Not yet at least. This was just pure business. Or, he supposed, rivalry.

" You understand that this establishment is, for all intents and purposes, its own independent state under authority of me? " Sigma raises an eyebrow slightly, and gestures to one of the leather seats in an invitation for the mafia executive to sit down. " Which means my words are law here. And part of the aerial casino's policy is that ALL are offered safe haven here at the casino unless they are a threat to the casino itself. Which, might I say, has saved several of the Port Mafia's younger members from being dragged out of here in handcuffs by various authorities. "

The angel allows for a quiet sight and a more amicable smile to grace his features. " I mean no offense of course. But I want it to be understood that as it stands, everyone is protected here. However, if you have concerns, I am willing to hear you out and make judgement once I have such information. " He tilts his head slightly. " Unless this is about the debt that some of them have opened a tab towards the Port Mafia? That is something I'm willing to discuss, either through payment, or having those who have accrued it work their debts off. If that is of interest to your boss? "
