When the river runs dry and the curtain is called
How will I know if I can't see the bottom?

rambling worldbuilding thoughts beneath the cut regarding the vessels and their personal shrines/altars.
Concept each vessel has a designated space for worship, shrines constructed out of personal memorabilia and occult paraphernalia.
First Vessel primary themes are nautical and cosmic. pieces of rope cut from buoys or docks tied around bits of driftwood, the lingering scent of sea salt from an old candle burned down to the wick, a shard of whale bone with godspeech painstakingly carved into it. doodles on lined paper from iii and iv, a fancy pen ii bought for him as a gift. Old scraps of poems and songsheets ripped from compositions he couldn't fit them into.
Second Vessel a journal/scrapbook full of pressed flowers and herbs and fungi. Broken drumsticks tied together with actual sticks using rough hewn twine or fishing line. sheet music pieces shared between them that went nowhere marked with a few blotted stains. He inscribes the godspeech in between notes on historical botanical remedies and whatever random things were on his mind that day. Neat handwriting, chaotic unfiltered thinking. Order always comes after a second pass for him. Third Vessel eclectic and modern. one of iv’s old shirts ripped up into a mat, polaroids he took of them all together at bowling alleys and boardwalks. his own sketches and portraits are filled with godspeech. paint and old bass guitar strings tying together a collage of broken CD’s and cassettes from youth. Artsy fartsy but surprisingly more organized than II in terms of presentation. Both of them are method-to-the-madness enthusiasts in their own ways.
Fourth Vessel a fox skull crowned with a treasured tourmaline bracelet. tickets from his favorite shows are perched in its mouth. smooth river stones laid out in a deliberate pattern, crystals that glow eerie pthalo hues without a distinctive light source. silver rings and beaded bracelets he was given as gifts or collected from the others. a couple of guitar picks he scratched godspeech into. His is the most bejweled, decked out in trinkets and studs, an intersection between vulture culture and punk nostalgia.
Similarities they all paint the mark of Sleep onto the base of their altars, along with othala, the elder futhark rune for homestead. their altars are not to be touched by the others without permission.
when their minds are tumultuous or they feel lost, this is where they go to recenter. a reminder to themselves of who they are and how faith binds them together
What is godspeech? the language of lost things. gods, deities, dreams. it is a command to the earth, a will imposed: i tell you this and you make it so. something that can't be taught by men but is whispered to them all the same by forgotten forces beyond this realm of reality -- but only if they dedicate themselves. a pact bound in eternal worship, whatever form that might take.

A Series of Small Offerings
Part Two - 11 - Drag Me Under
And I know the angels tonight are lost for words
Bonus points for people who can find cat hair on one of the angels lmao
P.S. I really hate this one. This is the 3rd attempt and it's still not good, but it has to do. I'm fed up with these angels.

Show me those pretty white jaws
I needed to draw something domestic and lighthearted after my last chapter. Why can’t they just be in love and happy (I say, continuing to put them through agony and despair)
I hope you enjoy!

Alright! Sorry for being so absent today! I was building a tool so you can all check your own names on demand.
I am asking that you not talk about it on Hugging Face. I'm sure word will get there eventually, but I'd like to avoid them accessing this as much as possible. Feel absolutely free to spread around Tumblr.
Tool is here! Use page 1 to search by username. Use page 2 to search by work ID (which you'll need to do if you're looking for an anonymous work).
That said, I did pay out of pocket for some of the accounts I've needed to do all this. If I need to, I'm fine with eating that cost, but I am going to ask nicely that if you feel like kicking in toward it, you donate to the Ko-Fi I made specifically for this technical project. I was hoping to get a short-term membership, but I was only able to buy access to host this for a full year lmao. BUT regardless, this is freely available to everyone. Do NOT feel like you need to donate if it'll put you in a bad place or even if you just don't want to. Just figured I'd ask instead of quietly sucking up the $180.
Thanks to everyone who helped with the cost to host the tool! I appreciate you so so so much. As of this edit, I'm at $185 total, and right now, I don't expect to have to pay for anything else to keep this available.
I gave the tool a quick test, but please come yell if it stops working. I'm around; I'll fix as fast as I can.
Now with all that being said, time for me to start focusing on how we stop the next scrape.

drops this at your feet like a cat with a dead bird
this was supposed to be zombie iii but i don't think i made him gross enough. there's definitely some freak shit going on here though :))
alt colors + line art under the cut
i love how this turned out but i couldn't decide which colors i liked more. also i finally figured out the pressure sensitivity on my laptop (i forgot to install the driver for my drawing tablet), so now i am unstoppable when it comes to line art >:3

Emergence - overgrowth
Didn't turn out quite like I'd thought, most especially because of the foliage I was able to find (I wanted moss :') ) and my refusal/inability to do my UVs.
Different camera angles might assuage some of that, I may return at some point. But! For now! The idea is out of my head :D Poof.
