SIKKIM STUDENT CLAIMS RACIAL ABUSE AND ASSAULT OCCURRED AT THE STORE. On May 29, a student from Sikkim was allegedly thrashed after being subjected to racial remarks at a grocery store in Sector 56. Sudarshan Rahul Gurung (25), from West Sikkim, has been studying photography in Gurgaon. Sudarshan went to the neighbourhood grocery store around 9.30 p.m. on May 29 in search of a can of cold coffee. He opened the refrigerator, checked the price, and returned the can because he thought it was too expensive. He was hospitalised for injuries and contacted police on June 11. "Three men punched and kicked him while pinning him to the ground. They hurled racial epithets at him the entire time. Unfortunately, a young man who came to the city to study is receiving racial remarks. Why? Is it because we don't look like them? We are also Indians. Such remarks should not be directed at tourists "P.M. Gurung, Sudarshan's father, arrived in Gurgaon after learning of his son's attack. Gurung, a Sikkim police officer, said Sudarshan had hand and knee injuries. "My son came here to study, not to file police reports. It's very unfortunate that this happened to him "He continued. An FIR was filed at Sector 56 police station against the store owner and others under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 34 (common intention) of the IPC. According to the police, both parties attacked each other, and one of the store owner's friends was injured in the face. "We are looking into the case from every angle. One of the men was injured in the face. First, we must determine the sequence of events "a senior officer stated. https://www.instagram.com/p/CexQBaTIRjc/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Saka Dawa [2022]: A Month Honoring the Buddha’s Life Today we’re going to share with you how Tibetans observe Saka Dawa, the most sacred of Buddhist holidays. It is a holy month when Buddhists celebrate the birth, enlightenment and death (parinirvana) of the Buddha Shakyamuni. The merit of any good deeds that you perform during this month is thought to be multiplied many times over — by as many as one hundred million times. So Saka Dawa is an excellent time to dedicate yourself to taking spiritually positive actions.   The Saka Dawa observations take place in the fourth Tibetan month, which in 2022 begins on May 31 and ends on June 28. Most holy of all is the full moon day of Saka Dawa, the 15th day of the month, which is the date most commonly associated with not only Buddha’s birth but also his enlightenment and parinirvana. In 2022, the 15th day of the month, also called Saka Dawa Duchen, falls on June 14 (today). Some good actions that are commonly taken to accumulate merit during Saka Dawa, especially on the 15th day, are: •Refraining from eating meat •Offering donations to monasteries/nunneries, or individual monks/nuns •Praying and reciting mantras (such as the refuge prayer, for one example, the Om Mani Padme Hung mantra, or the Buddha Shakyamuni mantra) •Making prostrations around holy sites (In Tibet, people will make prostrations around the Lingkhor And Barkhor) •Giving money to beggars (In the Tibetan community in McCleod Ganj, beggars line the roads on the 15th day of Saka Dawa, knowing they will receive alms.) •Lighting butter lamps •Making pilgrimages to holy places •Buying all kinds of animals that are going to be killed and releasing them. (Fish, for example) •Circumambulating around stupas or other holy places. (Basically, this means walking clockwise around a holy site while praying or reciting mantras.) Taking the Eight Mahayana Precepts It is very common as well to take the eight Mahayana precepts for twenty-four hours during Saka Dawa, especially on either the full moon day or new moon day – the 15th day or the 30th day of Saka Dawa.  The full moon day is considered to be more powerful for the accumulation of merit. https://www.instagram.com/p/CexNdtWIwS5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

NOTICE All pensioners/family pensioners are reminded that they must submit their Life Certificate by November-December of each year to verify that they are viable and eligible for the continuation of their pension/family pension. It has been discovered that a large number of pensioners have yet to submit their Life Certificate, which the government takes very seriously. Due to the non-submission of Life Certificates, the offices have placed pensioners/family pensioners in an uncertain category because they cannot determine whether they are still alive or not. Those pensioners who fail to submit their Life Certificate by 20.06.2022 will have their pension/family pension suspended and payments will be "on hold" as of 01.07.2022. https://www.instagram.com/p/CelQcq3ogV0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

THE GENERAL PUBLIC COMPLAINS!! We would like to draw your attention to the deplorable condition of the road leading from Gurudwara to Defence Auditorium Road in Deorali. For the past four months, the road has been causing issues not only for vehicles but also for the houses along the road. The road has been dug for some pipeline work, but it has not been properly patched. The uneven road surface has created craters and pools as a result of heavy rains. The drain appears to be completely clogged, flooding the road. As a result, we, the residents of the area, would like to request that the concerned Department investigate this matter as soon as possible and take the necessary steps before any disastrous calamity occurs. https://www.instagram.com/p/Cek6mbxoBcm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
