Silas was still trying to understand New York City in comparison to where he hailed from. It was much larger and more confusing to him, but he tried his best to figure it out. At least he hadn’t been lost all by himself, he had his cousin who was just as lost as he was. He hummed as he looked at his phone to the directions of the bar. He had been turned around quite a few times, and apologetically texted Adan after he had passed the bar for the fourth time.
He could feel his cheeks heat up as he finally made it through the door after being carded. Adan wasn’t too hard to find after he had gotten int, settling down beside the other with a soft sigh. “Sorry about that. This place is so confusing sometimes. It’s wicked cool you agreed to get a drink with me though.” Really, who else did he have to invite to have a drink with him? His cousin, his dad, maybe a few other classmates. None of those people were Adan. The other was put on a pedestal because of his secret crush, but he was still trying to figure out if that was even worth mentioning to the other or not.

It wasn’t his idea exactly to hang out at the kissing booth, but that’s where the evening had taken him. Silas ran his fingers through his hair as he leaned towards the side of the kissing booth looking for any familiar faces. The man that had been working the booth with the girl left her, so Silas slid into spot. “Well, hope you’re enjoying this so far.” He murmured a bit awkwardly taking the ticket as he leaned over the podium puckering his lips.

Silas was supposed to be over near the kissing booth, but he had paused to admire the ruthlessness of this ten year old bobbing for apples. This tike looked like they were out for blood, and it frightened him ever so slightly. He turned to Aiden offering a smirk, “Alright, I don’t suppose there’s any harm in it.” He walked up to a tub with the other and hooked a brunette strand behind his ear. “On the count of three. One.. two..three!”
“Bobbing for apples sounds so dumb.” Aiden crossed his arms as he watched others lower their heads into a tub full of water and apples. “Let’s do it.” A grin appeared on his face. He was here to have fun anyway.

lapomerets:
He should go home, he’d gotten the rest of his things from Connie at the Godfrey house the other day so he should feel more at home. But everything felt empty to Adan. Nothing felt normal when he was alone. For so long it was he and Adrian, from birth it was the two of them. And he was still getting used to being without his twin. Almost four months. Still he felt he should be better at it.
The voice that called out his name was familiar, he didn’t have to look to know it was Silas. It was much better for him if he didn’t look. Running his hand through his hair he looked back at the other man. “Avoiding home actually.” He laughed, nothing was funny but Silas made him laugh at stupid times. “You getting off work?”
Silas could have walked behind Adan for hours if need be, but he was thankful when the other man stopped. He didn’t need to pay any attention to any of the other bystanders around them, only to be careful about banging into someone. He lifted his brows with Adan’s comment, “Avoiding home?” What was so funny about avoiding home? He wasn’t sure, but found himself chuckling along. Because Adan’s laugh was contagious. “If you want some company, you can avoid home with me. I mean we could together.” He responded with a smirk, but blinked quickly adding in succession. “We could go to a bar.” He cleared his throat, “I can be your wingman.” Oh that wouldn’t be uncomfortable at all. He shifted a bit tugging down at the knee length shorts he had to wear for his job.
“Yeah, just got off. I don’t really try to go around dressing like a sailor unless that’s someone’s kink.” Silas grinned, and hoped that Adan didn’t pick up on his awkward crush energy. He tried to divert his eyes so he wouldn’t fixate them on a single feature of his face.

“The bag’s bitch? Isn’t that a bit extreme?” Silas asked blinking his eyes clearly confused by this whole interaction. He didn’t want to make the man any more perturbed but he didn’t see the harm in the bag. “That’s true, I shouldn’t touch things that aren’t mine.” He agreed to the universal rule he was taught in kindergarten. He felt foolish, but found himself getting more confused as the minutes went on. “Activate it? Is it.. a smart bag?”
“Don’t touch it if you don’t want to become the bag’s bitch… even if it is bitchin.” Xavier realized that not everybody would take his warnings seriously. “Regardless of whether there is a sign or not, you shouldn’t be touching things if you don’t know where they came from.” Perhaps, some sadistic person thought it would be a good idea to bait someone into wearing it. “I guess I may have come off a bit too aggressive… you should be good as long as you don’t wear it and activate it… you know what, never mind.”

A night out of the city was exactly what Callie needed. If there was one thing her stepmother was good for, it was the lake house upstate that her family owned. It was last summer that she had moved to New York, and the blonde had spent most of her time guffawing about how the lake was nothing compared to the San Diego beaches back home. This summer Callie had missed the water so much, she embraced the shitty beach with open arms – especially when Callie and Silas were allowed to stay there, just the two of them.
“ I don’t know, this whole area gives me horror movie vibes, “ Callie looked around as they neared their destination, shocked at just how dark and empty it was up here. It was amazing what a few hours drive from the city did. The mention of the fire made her scoff. “ What do I look like, a GIRL SCOUT ? Pop the truck, will ya ? “ She slid out of the car, going to the trunk to get their things.
Silas needed a break from trying to figure out his dad and new siblings. Things had just gotten so muddled after his mother’s passing that he felt like he couldn’t catch a grip on reality. None of this seemed to impact him though, his outside exterior was always chill and rather happy in comparison to his internal feelings. He wondered how Nick would feel if he knew he was gay? Would that be a problem? Would it be nothing? He had been too chicken shit to bring it up.
“Mmm. Which horror movie though? Are we talking about Bring it On or Texas Chainsaw Massacre?” Silas laughed but he quickly paused as he heard a howl in a distance. “We uh, could always turn back? But I don’t want to.” Silas scrunched his nose as he parked the car. “You do look like you should be offering me some Thin Mints.” He retorted in a teasing tone leaning forward to flip the switch to pop the trunk. Engine turned off he exited the car and stretched. Before he walked over to the trunk to grab the cooler.
“..Damn some Thin Mints do sound good right now.”

Open Mic Night was a big deal for him. Especially if he had the entire day to rehearse his material, and school nor work needed his attention. He hadn’t done one since he had been in New York. Most of his playing had been in dive bars in Maine, with the inebriated sailors. He had invited his dad the morning of, but hadn’t exactly figured he would come. They had still been trying to figure one another out, but at least each day it felt like it got less awkward. Silas looked forward to the day he could invite his sister along too. He had waited one hour before his time slot was there. He played covers of Clash songs, finishing with a rendition of I fought the Law
After he finished the final chord and exited off the stage he sought out his dad. Sliding into the seat beside him, “Was I good or should we leave before I get a drink thrown at me?” He smiled sheepishly, but deep down he could feel the anxious knots in his stomach twist.

Silas’s shift had ran later than normal at Seabirds. He pulled off the paper captain hat and folded it to stick into his pocket. The sun had been setting over the overcast, but he still put on his sunglasses. Not wanting to be stopped by anyone he might know. He had started to walk around on foot, but got turned around somewhere.
He knew for a fact Adan and him normally didn’t cross paths on their way home.Yet as he dodged the tourists and other lost souls like himself through the streets he thought he spotted the familiar figure. Silas took off his sunglasses tucking them with the paper captain hat in his pockets.
“ CHAVARRIA!” The young man called out with his hands cupped around his mouth to amplify the surname. “Wait up!” He quickened his dodge through the pedestrians in his way until he was side by side with Adan. “Aren’t you a sight for sore eyes. Heading home already?”

“I don’t think we’ll run into much trouble going to the harbor this late.” Silas started to explain as he leaned forward slightly to look out over the night sky. “I mean maybe a few toothless hobos, or some bears coming for a drink.” He teased his cousin with a mischievous grin. “I told Nick I would text him and Uncle Mark when we get there, but seriously what’s the big deal? Have our dads seen our faces? Who would want to murder us?” Silas couldn’t help the chuckle from his lips, trying to ignore the fact it was a possibility. What if they ran into Champ for example?
He set the car into park and gazed out over the lake at night with a hopeful sigh. "Last person inside the water has to start the campfire, deal?” Silas knit his brows as he turned off the engine, and sent the text messages needed for them to have radio silence.

“Oh.” Silas blinked and slowly retracted where his hand was going. “It’s a bitchin’ bag. I..huh.” He scratched the side of his head, and had assumed now the other was some sort of zealot. “Will my soul still be sacrificed if I was raised a Methodist?” He asked head tilted to the side, more curious in nature than he was trying to be a smart ass. “..In any case should it be this easy to obtain?”
“I wouldn’t touch that if I were you.” Xavier stared at the stranger who was about to touch a gris-gris bag containing objects that was supposed to curse whoever adorned the bag. “It’s not supposed to be worn as a fashion statement. You really want to sacrifice your soul and well being just to seem fashionable?”

𝒽𝓊𝓂𝒶𝓃 𝒶𝓅𝓅 ( joe keery. cismale , he/him, panic + the smiths. ) well, would ya’ look at SILAS O'SHEA this year? i’ve heard they’re a 23 years young, and are a PART TIME HOST/PART TIME STUDENT at SEABIRDS/NYU, and you can always find them sipping a BLUE RASPBERRY ICEE when they PLAY THEIR GUITAR. during the night, you can always find them going home to QUEENS by FOOT.
Meet the newest kid, Silas Nickolas O’Shea. He arrived in NYC around 8 months ago to find his biological father. He is still oblivious for the most part to the supernatural. He believes in the paranormal, but hasn’t had any experiences that solidify that ghosts or other worldly things exist. Eldest son to Nicholas O’Shea.
BASICS: Name: Silas Nickolas O’Shea Alias: Nicky, Si, Gender & Pronouns: Cismale (he/him) Age:23 Sexuality: Pansexual (mainly closeted), Homoromantic Birthday: September 21, 1996 Star Sign: Virgo (sun), Capricorn (moon & ascending) Birthplace: York Beach, ME MBTI: ENFP-T BACKSTORY: (cancer tw, death tw)
The result of a one night stand twenty three years ago, Silas would know utterly nothing about his biological father. There would be some fleeting comments here and some remarks there, but he mostly didn’t want to open that can of worms. That all changed when his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer two years ago. She started to tell him everything, and he would quit his schooling to become her full time aid until she passed away nine months ago. Around eight months ago, he located his biological father to confront the man.
This thought process changed when he meant Nick though. He could tell his father had no unearthly idea that he even existed. Silas gets a job near NYU and gets the student aid to take a few classes. He isn’t aware of the supernatural, but he is a believer in the Paranormal & Cryptozoology. He just hasn’t seen any truth to any existence of what’s out there.
For now he’s still relatively new and trying to figure everything out. Create the father/son bond that he’s been missing for the past 23 years, and also trying to create the sibling bond with his siblings. Since, as far as he knows, his mother had no other children.
TLDR:
Moved to NYC about 8 months ago. Tracked down his biological dad. Works at a seafood restaurant called Seabirds, and is a part time student at NYC. He’s a human, so as far as he knows the supernatural world doesn’t exist. Except he believes in the paranormal and is an avid fan of cryptozoology.
