I’m rewatching, and I love how Ben and Sammy’s gayness/queerness is shown through Kenji and Brooklynn’s shipping moments.
Like, the second Kenji starts flirting with Brooklynn, Ben literally throws up, and when Brooklynn mentions Kenji’s boyish charm could be what’s attracting the dinosaurs, Sammy’s like, ‘yeah, that’s not it’.

Sammy pushing away her trauma with that “I've already forgotten” line is so real for a lot of farm kids, like damn.

I wonder what starter Pokémon they’d all choose out of the main 27 (30 because of the Hisuian Forms?)

Still stuck on the fact that Sammy being forced to leave the country and spy for Mantah Corp to pay off her parents debts, which is literally human trafficking, was often reduced down to being a fun fact about her by her friends.

Imagine a villain that has carnivorous dinosaurs, so if anyone gets to close to figuring out what they’re doing or they get suspicious of anyone, the kill them and feed them to the dinosaurs to get rid of the body.

Seeing them as adults is so surreal and it’s going to be so hard to get used to.

[Continuation from the last post]
The job security of the people who just happened to work for Daniel and Mantah Corp was really overlooked. And I get why, but with Darius’ arc of feeling like the bad guy for doing the right thing it should’ve been mentioned.
And it should’ve been mentioned by either Ben or Sammy, Ben’s mom worked for the park and so did Sammy’s parents. Both of them were aware that their parents lost their jobs after the park went down, and with Sammy it was part of her entire character arc. So it’s weird it never clicked for either of them, and if it did, them not having mixed feelings over it is weirder. (Especially since Sammy’s parents currently work for Mantah Corp and he owns their farm.)
I also think that the message of ‘sometimes doing the right thing hurts innocent people but you still have to do the right thing’, especially while having the actual, painful consequences acknowledged for those innocent people, would’ve been such a powerful message, but only if it’s written in a way that’s respectful and is empathetic to the harm but ultimately follows through on what’s right.
And especially in a kid show. Because while kids watching aren’t going to have those kinds of stakes, they’ll have their own that feels as high as those. Like reporting bullying (theirs or someone else’s) when you have those shitty teachers who do group/table punishments.
And yes, there is the argument of animals being worth less than people, so hurting the hundreds to thousands of innocent people like that isn’t worth it, but there’s still the risks of the technology’s advancement that should be enough of a reason to stop him then and there. Because it would never stop at dinosaurs, it would be used on other non-human animals and then it would be used on people. (chaos theory???)

I’m doing a whole character analysis on Kenji and I’m convinced that his dad’s staff’s reaction to hearing about him being presumed dead was this:

And not this;

(And still, RIP their jobs after Daniel got arrested. Like, the job security of the people who just happened to work for Daniel was thing that the show overlooked.)

For real, I can’t watch a single episode of that show without associating his voice with Ben and visualizing the lines coming from him instead.

The continuity error in season 1 for when the show is set robbed us of Kenji telling Darius he didn't want to spend another Christmas alone.

The fact that Brooklynn posted a video on how to pick hotel room locks onto a web channel with around 27 million subscribers is wild to me.
Like, where were her parents? Was no one supervising or at least checking in on her and her channel?
It’s not like she was keeping her channel a secret from them, so either her parents knew about what she was posting and didn’t care or they just didn’t care enough to keep an eye on her channel to begin with and didn’t know about the video.

This has me thinking, people would absolutely start tearing down Jurassic Park/World stuff after the Jurassic World incident, literally just everything and anything to do with the park because of how unethical and reckless it was.
Even the smaller things would prompt that kind of reaction, imagine you’re child’s presumed dead, killed by god knows what kind of animal, and you walk by the clearance section of the grocery store and see Jurassic World cereal, the kind he used to eat every morning. And before you even know what you’ve done the display is broken on the ground, the boxes smashed, and people are staring.
from now on your tumblr nickname is whatever you get from this sexual identity generator  ☆

Bessie getting chomped would be worst than Kooklynn/Kennlynn being canon imo.
Same person as before, but I had this thought.
Imagine if what opens up the conversation is Bessie being killed and eaten by a loose dinosaur. And so Sammy’s a wreck, she’s grieving, she’s distraught, and then she stops for a second and is like “Oh, shit. How was she any different than them?”
Noooo not Bessie 🐮

Throwback to when Yaz couldn’t tell the difference between an egg and a rock and we thought we were going to get a discussion on the ethics of eating animals and their byproducts.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Even if they ultimately decided not to and conveniently found another food source it would’ve been an interesting discussion and seeing who would and wouldn’t kill and eat dinosaur meat, even if it was as a last resort, would've been a good dive into who they are as people and what won't they do, even when desperate.
Like, their opinions on it would be so interesting to listen to for a few reasons;
Ben already eats live bugs and is in full survival mode.
Darius loves dinosaurs but understands the food chain.
Sammy flip-flops on her morals around killing animals for food, her own or others, when it suits her.
They could all live with burning Too to survive, and no one has criticized Ben for purposely seeking out Too and attacking him.*
And if hunting was off the table, what about scavenging from whatever’s left of a larger carnivore kills?
Are anklyosauruses off the table because of Bumpy? Even though Sammy’s character has been cemented as being the “you can love them and eat them” type via Bessie? (Though she’d never eat Bessie.)
*(Also, unrelated but it looks/sounds like Ben didn't start eating bugs until after Bumpy came back, so he fought Toro on a diet of berries and rage.)
I just realized that Yaz yelling at Darius over almost hitting them with the gyrosphere in Hidden Adventures was meant to be a hint on what you shouldn’t do when their gyrosphere gets stuck.
