so i wore a pride flag pin to work the other day and the kids were all interested (obviously) (find me a classroom of preschoolers who are not obsessed with rainbows) (i'll wait) so they crowded around to see.
"aww!" they said, "it's a flag!!"
but the thing is: they're little. a lot of them don't really have a handle on all their mouth sounds yet.
such as, notably, that tricky tricky "L" sound.

i don’t know how to explain to you people that no matter what a country’s government is like i do not and will not support the US indiscriminately bombing that country’s civilians and i don’t know why that’s a controversial take tbh

"these researchers published a paper on something that literally any of us could have told you 🙄" ok well my supervisors wont let me write something in my thesis unless I can back it up with a citation so maybe it's a good thing that they're amplifying your voice to the scientific community in a way that prevents people from writing off your experiences as annecdotal evidence

i kind of feel like if you take "don't bomb iran" as an endorsement of the iranian government, you're not intellectually ready to engage in conversations about real-world politics. Go talk about steven's universe instead

“Why didn’t Ariel just write what she wanted to say to Eric? We saw her sign her name!”
Tumblr media
Hot take? Ariel did not read and write English. The contract was only in English for the audience. It was movie magic.
Everything in the movie is “translated” to English, but we never see merfolk speak to humans except for Ursula- a powerful sea witch who probably knows many languages- and maybe Triton.
The mermaids probably speak Greek. Even if Ariel knows some of Eric’s language she doesn’t know how to write it.

I have some news for members of the united states armed forces who feel like they are pawns in a political game and their assignments being unnecessary.

The Republicans' mistake? Using actual scientists to write the study. Their conclusion found that "the consensus of the evidence supports that the treatments are effective in terms of mental health, psychosocial outcomes, and the induction of body changes consistent with the affirmed gender in pediatric GD [gender dysphoria] patients" following 230 studies involving 28,056 trans youth. earlier my friend said to me “somewhere out there, in an alternate universe, there’s an all female rock band called ‘king’” and I’m STILL recovering from that mental image and how gay it made me feel

So here’s the thing, and I hate to upset the Jax fans, but this is what I’m thinking. What we’ve learned about Jax isn’t that he’s the victim. It’s that he’s not the beginning of whatever cycle of abuse he’s trapped in.
Jax WAS a victim in the past, and now he’s taking it out on everyone else, at least that’s what I’m getting from this.
He still hurt every single one of them. I’ve been bullied, I know the whole group can be wrong, but this is not that, these people are victims of his pain.
He’s going to hurt Pomni. Maybe not on purpose, maybe by complete accident, but he’s going to push her away just like he’s done with everyone else.
And it will either start his villain arc, or his redemption arc.
If redemption arc, then I still put my money on Jax as the noble sacrifice at the end. He stops blaming other people, he reflects on his own self destructive depression, and he shows up in the final act to save everyone he’s hurt…
If villain arc, well he blames Pomni and tries to get everyone killed, and maybe speed runs a redemption arc in the last 10 minutes, or just goes full villain.
But that’s just a theory.
So if The Amazing Digital Circus was inspired by “I Have No Mouth and I must Scream with the aesthetic of an I Spy Book.” Then technically we might already know how it ends…
If they ever get out, one of them will end up having to stay behind. The question is who would it be?
Obvious choice is Pomni, because main character with empathy, but idk I’m kinda leaning towards Jax if that happens.
He’s an asshole, and I’m not really on the Jax bandwagon, but it feels like a coping mechanism. It feels like if it came to getting out of there he would legit trick Pomni into going home.
Like Pomni agrees to make that sacrifice, stay behind, no matter how sudden that need for a sacrifice is. Jax agrees to help her… last minute he pushes her through whatever exit they’ve made and makes some comment like;
“It’s fine kid… I’ve been here way longer than you. I don’t really have anything to go back to… and you know… I’m kinda starting to like this place anyway…”
Accompanied by the orchestral version of the main theme that we saw at the end of the pilot. You know. Symmetry…
