I wonder if they're going with a trio focus kind of approach for the trilogy. like the first trio/party found in the game is barret cloud and tifa so remake had a lot of these three as a group taking the spotlight/fighting in a group. and for a shorter while there was a CTA party too.

zack's girlfriend and nanaki join later so they get to be in the party with cloud more often in rebirth (I used to find this grouping so weird but it makes a bit more sense when I think abt the chronology of their playability)

yuffie already had her own dlc so they kinda skipped putting her in a group with cloud (there was that one time in nibelheim I think)

through out rebirth they did different groupings too, like TAY when tifa was leader (YAS queen) and BTY in corel where they met the baby chocobo :)

I wonder if when the plot requires them to separate into multiple parties we'll see Cloud being grouped with Vincent and Cid more often than the others. and have them talk more often than the other characters, be more involved etc (their lore also needs to be focused on since they're only now joining)

so CBT for the first game. CAN for the second game and CVC for the third game. what do you think?

this is aside from the fact that tifa will be the protagonist/leader for a while though. like when cloud comes back or before he's lost.

The player will be forced to use various combos depending on the mission. If you want Cloud to be with certain characters on the map you can change the party, but he won't only be with them in the narrative. That would defeat the purpose of having other party members.

Just went through the mithril mine after the giant snake, maybe i have a purist bias, but this whole scene with the Turks, let's ignore the whole "you defeat the boss but not really because in the cutscenes the turks kinda flip over the situation at their advantage", is a trope that i got tired of it because may as well script the fight and just force me to lose, but i don't think there is/was a scene like this in the original game. Annoying really, but again, maybe it's my bias(that i try to not have but it's hard).

do you think there'll be new synergies in p3 for pairs who already had synergy skills in rebirth? how many more would they add for each of them I wonder? everyone's getting new ones with vince and cid, that's for certain, but I wanna see more synergies for tifa with the rest of the party as well. especially with cloud 😊💖

do you think, if they do give them new synergies, that all of the older ones from rebirth will also be available in the third game? if they do add triple synergies like people have been requesting, this might just be the biggest and best game they've made so far. (even tho we already know the best parts of the story is also gonna be in p3)

there's also the new limit breaks, I want at least two more new ones for the returning characters (cid and vince will have more "new" ones since this is their playable debut) rebirth adding synergies is nice but just one new limit break for everyone was kind of a letdown for me :/ try harder...

Yes, but they'll also reduce the ones currently in rebirth and only keep the most popular ones. Same with the summons. They'll switch out the ones in Rebirth for new ones while keeping some of the most famous like Ifrit and Shiva.

I hope they don't gatekeep the limits like they did in rebirth. It was so hard to trigger them if you couldn't be arsed to do specific strategies.

Still me, Hi (to you and readers)! i finally managed to go through a crashing issue(very common on PC since some new patch) and i finished the flashback about the Nibelheim's tragedy(sephiroth turns evil, yadda yadda) but what irked me(because it's kind of a in-game spoiler) is Tifa openly questioning Cloud's story on the balcony and Cloud questioning...Tifa for existing/Being still alive? Like okay that the game can't and won't be a perfect copy of the original game but what the hell? I mean those who played the original game know that Tifa has doubts about Cloud's story but only shares them in a big moment with Sephiroth pretty much psychologically tormenting Cloud...and Cloud questioning if Tifa is even herself...sounds very not-Cloud behavior...i mean makes sense(from his POV) but what the hell?! Because Cloud trusts and believes Tifa so much that her words literally shatters his psyche in the big moment i mentioned(and we both know about) these EXPRESSED doubts(the point isn't about the doubts itself but the fact that they told each other to have doubts) so soon kinda makes that moment less impactful or it's just me? Anyway: I wish you and the readers a pleasant day (stay hydrated don't know there but here in italy we're boiling in our own sweat XD)

Nah it's needed to show Tifa tried to find out the truth since the dumbasses still keep saying she lied blah di blah blah, but we can see something is up, so it teases future events really well and throws out a lotta questions that as yet have no answers.

Not sure if you saw but it’s the second (or third?) time post OG/ACC, Cloud and Tifa’s family gets acknowledged by Nojima by appreciative fans who enjoy his work. Like no matter how you interpret their relationship, the canon is that they’re a family unit 🤷 so expecting part 3 to go any different without that in mind, good luck to those people out there

Hope lore based questions are okay here, wanted your thoughts on some stuff! Not aware if you know anything about this from your source since you said the infos you got were mostly shipping related as that’s the info that was requested, but whether you do or not, what is your personal belief the “seven seconds til the end” means or how that ties in to how the ending might change up? I know you implied there won’t be massive changes bc the info you have suggests the game continues in line with the OG, but the statements also make this scene to be one of the single-most important ones to keep our eyes on. I know part 3 will follow OG, but this is making me scratch my head since it seems something at the end will certainly change. It was even told to us to basically take the statement itself quite literally. So if Sephiroth needs Cloud to accompany him or to make that decision at the end of the world to “defy destiny”, and Cloud has both times rejected this, do you think he will change his mind at some point in part 3? What will this have the potential to change about the course of the world? What do you think about it, or why do you think the devs are so interested in it? Do you think the devs will be successful in using this moment to create a satisfying enjoyable or even shocking ending, whether it lines up with something similar to OG or slightly different?
