The idea that most gay men, if/when given access to hegemonic male power, would choose to continue walking in step with female interests is so delusional to me. Even the gay men I know who are very sympathetic to women (mind you, many are either totally indifferent or actively hostile) would clearly would jump at the opportunity to align with male power and influence whenever and however possible. Gay men are men, and they want money, power, and influence just as much as the next man..... It makes sense that the alliance between gay men and women has been progressively breaking down since the 90s. The alignment was circumstantial. Circumstances for gay men in the Western world have changed and continue to change for the better. Good for them. But women's circumstances...hm, not as much. So the people still talking like it's 1982 starting to sound a bit delulu to me.

This is Misty Upham.
She was a promising young Native American Actress who appeared in the Oscar Winning August: Osage County.
She was allegedly raped at the 2013 Golden Globe awards by an executive from Weinstein’s company in the men’s bathroom, WHILE A GROUP OF MEN CHEERED HER RAPIST ON.
She never came forward for fear of her career and her life. About a year later she went missing and was later found dead. It was ruled a suicide, even though the autopsy stated that the cause of death was several blunt force trauma injuries to her head and torso. Her name was not spoken at the Golden Globes that following year.
I was shocked to learn about this the story other day, and as May 5th is a National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Native Women and Girls, I needed to share her story here.

can’t believe wanting your sexual partner to be gentle and careful with your body is actively shamed by “”progressives””
the underlying assumption is that if women are not repressed, they will choose violence and, more often than not, subordination. the concept of “vanilla”/prudishness relies on the belief that women secretly (and naturally) desire male sexual violence. if that sounds familiar, it’s because it is.

Okay and I’m gonna totally sound like my mom for a second here but it’s interesting that soooooooo many women in entertainment have careers based on “embracing their sexuality” but the vast majority of men in entertainment base their careers on like … being people…. and like maybe there’s a reason most men don’t seem to find going on stage in underwear “empowering”…? Bc it’s not…?

sabrina carpenter is absolutely complicit in her insanely misogynistic brand. she is personally responsible for the damage she does to her fans. how they see themselves, their relationships and their lives, and how they treat themselves. “but if she didn’t objectify and degrade herself she wouldn’t be successful!” she won’t die from not being famous. even if all of this was somebody else’s idea she had the responsibility to say no im not going to do that and walk away

my minor gripe is that i despise the term women of childbearing age when it comes to female health information & publications. let’s try sexually mature women instead ok everyone 1 2 3 go

Love how virtually all historical trans examples are 1. Literally mythology or fictional stories 2. A third category created for gnc gay men 3. A woman who dressed as a man bc women weren’t allowed to do anything 4. Gay ppl who transitioned to become straight bc they lived in a society where being gay was illegal or 5. A rare example of historical autogynephilia
#many of them were just straight up victims of sexual slavery / prostitution / paedophilia#so it is absolutely wild to me that the trans community wants to cite them as examples of “gender fluidity”
