I'm actually very curious. What got you to start a self shipping blog? I'm debating starting one myself!

hi !! sorry this took a minute!

so honestly, I was following some self shippers for around a year before even being ACTIVE on tumblr. I was very much a "stalker" blog lol like, I would just like and move on. it was when I was with my ex, at the time, so although the idea of self shipping intrigued me... I couldn't

(not because you can't be in a relationship WHILE self shipping, mind you, but bc he was .. very very strictly mentally monogamous and would get really antsy with me just calling characters hot lol)

but good news! he broke up with me about a year or so before I started self shipping. and once I was able to put myself back together somewhat, it kind of hit me like... oh. that's a thing I can do now! Jasper would show up on my pinterest every so often and I always LOVED HER to DEATH, yknow... even before I formally had this relationship with her. hell even before that relationship! she was... incredible. there was always something about her that lit me up.

starting this blog wasn't ever meant to be this SERIOUS if I'm being honest -- I was a full time warehouse lead killing herself w overtime trying to distract myself from everything. this was just for sillies -- a space away from my main (and my like, three followers on it lol) that I could dedicate to this idea that I could have a happy life with this character I love.

and then the more I played with it, the more I rambled about my slowly-growing story, the more I imagined her with me, the more she... manifested herself to me I guess! and this blog that was supposed to be just sillies came to represent strength and love and laughter and power and hope, after all that time, after the past few years of genuinely hating myself and not being able to create at all.

that's a lot of personal stuff, so I don't know if that's what you're looking for, but... I say if it's something you're considering, you might as well! it does NOT have to be a super serious commitment, you don't have to post all the time (hell I've had my fair share of hiatuses hahaha). but it's... really, really nice to have this public face for something that means so much to me, and I love knowing that selfshipping has the power to do that for other people too
