Okay, I'm so totally going to jump on this with my own very obvious disguise-yet-not-really-one :P

For starters, I love your choices for protags!! Especially with the typical dichotomy that Pokemon usually has peppered around, so having the very meticulous, rule-following and analytical Sawyer against a free-living creative spirit that is Mairin is so cool to see!! Which also does remind me of how they both probably recently started their journeys in the anime proper as it is... and both have (a very very thin) relationship with Zygarde there as well: with the whole Chespie thing and with Sawyer having been there when Squishy was first found. Also both Grass-Starter kids lol. The green wardrobe does not help with allegations here either. AND BONNIE FOR OBLIGATORY RIVAL PLS MY HEART that would be so amazing to see!! We usually get the Professor's child as a rival so seeing a Gym Leader's sibling/child (if we're looking at Meyer for this) instead is just *chef's kiss* to me. And that of course doesn't even go into the whole Zygarde thing (in which speaking of, do you plan on adapting solely from the anime for that? because iirc the manga was more with the games and Zygarde chilling in Alola against a bigger threat, so maybe there can be some flow on effect perhaps :3c)

SKY BATTLE GYM BATTLE WOO (speaking of, there's also the lady with the Talonflame up in the gif who can also be a contender if you want *wink wink*)!!! And also nice set up with the Gyms; I've honestly been confused with the way the anime just... gave us the order that Sawyer did it with no explaination given. If you want, you can absolutely switch up the order with the last three (which eternally pains me to see lol): go back from Laverre (maybe connecting from Coumarine?) to Snowbelle via Lumiose and then end at Anistar! And thinking about how Malva being exposed might leave an opening in the E4 for our buddy Clemont (who would have a lot more time to himself so he can chill around heh, but also first Electric E4 known + big changes for him) gets me thinking more about how Fire goes from being E4 level to Gym (and the first one!). Something something how nothing is inheritantly evil something you can't get rid of something completely something. But also I'm definitely wondering what got Siebold to possibly step down himself if we're going in that direction. Also also I like the idea of seasonal timetable changes for the Champs; maybe they can also change their fits as well or maybe even teams to match!

I'm also very interesting in Sycamore (+ Trevor, dang it I like that bit from what little I know from the manga) + co becoming more involved. Especially since we've got Mairin jumping around here, is Alain also going to be around? What's his role here? We can go the researcher route where he's totally fine yet intrigued by Mega Evo, to contrast against idk Trevor with Zygarde, or is he already grizzled by XY stuff? Actually now that I think about it the first option sounds fun lol, it would be so cool to see Alain and Trevor go up against each other in this way (esp. if they both have Charizard around here). In which, hey! Do the protags + rival get extra starters, and if so may I suggest the Hoenn ones as extras?? So we can maximise the Mega shenanigans heh.

Storywise is already gripping me as it is, you have no idea!! Maybe to link in ZA we can be just hopping around and have 'freedom' to chose all sorts of mini-quests (kind of like how in anime Serena was supposed to have) (also where we can meet Tierno and Shauna!!) and we get caught up in the whole Zygarde Core issue. And to follow from XY games we can have Malva/Xerosic trying to undo the attempt that Lysandre had made and follow through it properly this time? Idk I'm just playing around here lol. But having lots of little actvities can link to showing the Zygarde Core about humanity and how they truly are... something like a friendship/affection counter can be added here to link gameplay and story, and you can feed + play with it to unlock the whole final battle. Really make that game mechanic worth its weight in gold >:)

Hello suspiciously-Pearl-like stranger! XZYZ is a romhack/mod I wanna make for the original XY games, except everything’s restructured to tell a sequel story to the original XY (or rather, my slightly modified hopefully-better-told version of XY :P). I kind of wanna work backwards from the XYZ anime and XY manga to write a story that could’ve been XY sequels a la B2W2, since we know that (a) XY sequels were planned and scrapped and (b) the anime tended to get the planned story for the games ahead of time so they could adapt it to Ash’s story. I also wanna include Southern Kalos and elements from the ZA game, when it comes out :D

So far, I’m brainstorming ideas for the protags, rivals, previous protags/rivals roles, Gym Leaders, and Elite 4! At the moment I think Sawyer and Mairin should be the protags, with Bonnie as the rival character. Sawyer and Mairin mostly because they both have green elements to them (something something Zygarde) and I love their characters, and Bonnie because of her in-series connection to Zygarde! I mean, look at them!

Protag energy <3 and Bonnie would bounce so well off of them (especially since, a la Serena and Calem, I’m considering making the non-chosen protag a rival as well, so all 3 starters are in rotation)

I’m also basing the Gym order off of Sawyer’s badges in XYZ. The Gym Type order would be Fire (Meyer, Lumiose), Bug (Viola, Santalune), Water (??? No idea, maybe Siebold?? But definitely southern Kalos), Grass (Ramos, Coumarine), Flying (No idea, but definitely something to do with Sky Battles because CMON! Maybe Yvette from Pokespe?? Idk), Psychic (Olympia, Anistar, though I kind of wanna make her the final Gym Leader), Fairy (Valerie, Laverre, and I definitely wanna give her a new outfit a la Elesa (maybe based on the Florges one she gives Serena?? And her ace is Florges??)), and Ice (Wulfric, Snowbelle). And the Elite 4 isn’t ironed out yet, but I know I want Clemont to be on it (and maybe Korrina??). As for Champions… something something bringing back Gen 5’s Seasons mechanic and having who you face out of Serena and Calem be based on the time of year??? Similar to what GSC/HGSS did with Red and what they planned to do with Hilda/Hilbert in B2W2’s PWC.

As you might’ve gathered, I want these games to start in Lumiose, and I want Sycamore and his group (which includes Trevor, via inspiration from the manga!) to be more involved.

For the story, all I really have is that I want the protag and Bonnie to watch over one of the cores (whichever one’s color symbol matches the Prequel legendary of that game), and that Malva or Xerosic are leading Team Flare. I think a couple mini-adventures like the ones in the anime would be fun as well (maybe reworking Showcases so it can be a game mechanic? Or add dance competitions for Tierno??). I’d love some help brainstorming, though!

Fuck man I just love how they had Dawn and was like “okay guys lets really emphasize that she’s Ash’s equal rather then someone who trails behind him or has to catch up, and she’s just as important in the journey as Ash is” and also they were like “lets also have them be equals in how they interact with each other and have them support one another and be invested in each others goals and dreams and try their best to help each other whenever they’re in a rut”, like god bless the writers for making a conscious choice with this and making them have such a strong loving bond that had an excellent pay off at the end of the series (they emphasized it so hard they give them a fucking ED about it aasdf).
