I’m sorry.

I’m sorry for the hearts I broke, the broken trusts and the ones I took for granted. For the love I so viciously tore apart and for the trace of pain I left behind.

To the person I used to be…

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry I led us here. Not recognizing the person in the mirror is something I never expected to happen. We were hurt but ended up hurting others that much more. The hate filled every pore and I let it overcome me and blind me.

I’m sorry I tainted love and trust the way I did. Turned the hopeless romantic into a narcissistic selfish arrogant prick.

To the person I used to be…

I’m sorry.

You of all people didn’t deserve this. I failed you. In the worst way anyone can fail themselves. I turned you into the one thing you always hated the most. During these times I’m so desperately trying to find you. To find my way back to you and hold you so tight. The consolation and the understanding I’m dying to find I now realize I could only find in you.

To the person I used to be…

I know better now. The lesson didn’t come with ought it’s series of painful events but the lesson was learned. I will do good by you, we’ll be the person we were always meant to.
