A not-quite-mini tide pool necklace! This one features a beautiful rose cut Aquamarine that is just the color of the waves on a cloudy day. And I love the addition of this gorgeous Oregon Sunstone, which also represents the beautiful orange color of the most common starfish around here. There is also a Rainbow Moonstone, blue Sapphire, Ruby, and a Here is what I said about the first tide pool necklace: One of my all time favorite songs is Slow Parade, by A.A. Bondy. “ And I'm going down. Where the waves will surround To the roar and the pound Of the wild wild sea Talking sweet to me.” And he goes on to say “… tide will bring and tide will take…” Which is what I am thinking of whenever I am exploring tide pools, looking for the next beautiful thing. We had the mother of all tide pool experiences last weekend, when there was a reverse tide, which means the tide is out much much further than it usually is. A new friend invited us to her beach and brought us to a remarkable sea cave and beach that can only be accessed when the tide is very low. There is really no way to describe the experience, but these pictures kind of show you what we got to witness. Imagine the five of us landlocked Coloradons seeing all of this. We get like we were on another planet and it was the most remarkable thing ever. So, I tried to capture it in a necklace. I think the colors and shapes and vibe are just right, and this piece was sooooo fun to make! The back says “wonder”. It measures just under 3/4” x 1 1/4”. On a 16” link chain, $140. Ray earrings! These are meant to represent Bat Rays, which are commonly found off of the coast of Oregon. Like some of my other recent ocean animal casts, these are made from tiny little toys. In general rays- sting rays, manta rays, etc.- as a spirit animal, represent “navigating difficult emotional terrain with ease” as well as patience, and resilience. They are also masters of disguise, and can help you to blend in when that is necessary, maybe in less-than-ideal social situations? These earrings are understated, lightweight, and fun. $46~ please message me to claim ❤️ (at Forest Grove, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CULk8b9vddF/?utm_medium=tumblr

This is the third ring that will also be shipped to my dear customer in Australia. Obsidian with a triple wrap band. I love how this one turned out! You ladies are always asking me to make bigger rings like this, but it’s tricky because of the sizing. I have seen some people make rings but not finish them, so that they can make them any size. Is that something you would like me to try? I can make a ring and show you how it will look when it is finished, but not set the stone, so that I can finish it in your size? Please let me know! My dear sweet Dorothy started kindergarten today. I am sitting here in disbelief. After experiencing how fast the time went with Hazel & June, I was certain that I would be able to slow it down this time, to truly be able to savor the time that I had with Dorothy, to make it last longer…. But that’s just not how it works, is it? I made her a matching starfish birthstone necklace, and she kissed mine and I kissed hers, so if (when) we miss each other we have a kiss. Although I know this new chapter of my life will be productive and I will have so much more time to make jewelry (and get caught up on my orders again, thank you very much to those of you who are so patiently waiting) and do the things that I love, I am so heartbroken that my youngest is already old enough to go to kindergarten. Any pieces that I make this week may be shipped out covered in tears ❤️ (at Forest Grove, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTxVw6pv2zL/?utm_medium=tumblr

I’ve been working on this design for a little while now. I wanted to create a piece that represented light coming out of the darkness, something refined rising from something drab, something beautiful from something mundane. A symbol of the light within the darkness, and how one cannot exist without the other. I found these beautiful black stones on the Oregon coast. Then I drilled holes in them and riveted the bezel-set Rainbow Moonstones onto them, and drilled another hole for the riveted bails. I kind love how they turned out, but I have some more ideas. On 28” leather, $78~ please message me to claim ❤️ (at Forest Grove, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTi3wkoHpSx/?utm_medium=tumblr

The colors combination in this little charm collection is so lovely! And such powerful stones! The one on the left has a Hematite on top, for grounding, with a green Tourmaline below, for strength. The middle charm is a beautiful black beach pebble from the Oregon coast, and on the right is a rose cut Labradorite, for easing transitions. They are suspended from a hoop and hang on an 18” sterling rolo chain. $92~ please message me to claim ❤️ (at Forest Grove, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTibl0TJs9H/?utm_medium=tumblr

Giveaway time!! My very oldest friend and all around magnificent human, Megan, makes gorgeous beaded gemstone jewelry. With her business, @beadsofthegoddess , her mission is to get stones into the hands of as many people as possible, so she keeps her beautiful designs simple & affordable. Megan lived across the street from me when I was growing up and we were the closest of friends all through my childhood. She is truly a remarkable person- kind, funny, smart, strong, and so connected. I feel honored to be her friend. For this collaborative giveaway, we are each offering a bracelet. The one I made is comprised of Carnelian, Garnet, Agate, Poppy Jasper, and a bit of Picasso Jasper. I made a small copper charm, with a Goddess on one side and a Sparrow on the other, and finished it with a copper lobster clasp. It is just over 7” long. Megan’s bracelet is a stunning Picasso Jasper and Red Garnet Wrap Around. These two will look so wonderful together! To enter the giveaway, all you have to do is follow both of our pages, then leave a comment here to let me know you have done so. If you’d like to be entered another time, you can share the giveaway on your page and leave a comment here to let me know. The winner will be announced on Friday, September 10th. Good luck! ❤️ (at Forest Grove, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CThw1ygFR1I/?utm_medium=tumblr

Fall come earlier here in the Pacific Northwest! Back home in Southwest Colorado, fall didn’t really start until at least the end of September. And by the end of October it was usually snowing. It is going to be fun learning the new seasons here. The leaves are already starting to turn here, so I felt inspired to make some fall-colored pieces. The first one is this beautiful, long red and orange necklace. I used lots of different Agates, Poppy Jasper, Carnelian, and Grossular Garnet for the necklace. These stones are grounding, energizing, soothing, and healing. Perfect for this season! I tied a tiny knot after every bead. The combination of charms on this one is pretty great, if I do say so myself. I cast a tiny Hemlock cone and a teeny little Oregon White Oak acorn. There is also a bezel-set Carnelian drop, and a beautiful bezel-set banded Agate, along with some bead dangles. These are all suspended from a Carnelian-adorned silver hoop. 32”, $160~please message me to claim ❤️ (at Forest Grove, Oregon) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTfSxr6p8LH/?utm_medium=tumblr

So THIS happened yesterday! I decided that with my youngest starting kindergarten I needed a baby in my life. This is Wesley, and I am already 100% in love. The last photo is what is happening right now- I tied a scarf so that he can be in there while I am working. I will let you know how that goes!
