SilverTree Industires- Paracord, GITD, G10, Stuff
2K posts
From humble beginnings as a paracord bracelet maker (tactical man knitter, as someone told me), I became intetested is custom paracord projects, then into making law enforcement specific items. A small sample of my products can be seen at pcordnsuch.wordpress.com. My interests include knives, shiny kit, and good action books and movies among other things. I also like new gadgets, backpacks and bright flashlights.

A couple of holsters I’ve made in the last few days. Top is for a Rock River Armament 1911 and the bottom is for a G43X.

I’m practicing some padlock openings today. I can open most of these in one wipe, but I still have to stay in practice. I have actually saved a few padlocks at work, when guys locked their keys in their lockers.
Yes, padlocks like this are easy, but if you can’t open these, you’ll never be able to open higher security ones.
Thanks to @law66 for setting me on this path, giving instruction and providing me with this awesome jackknife set a few years ago.

I’ve never had good luck with tweezers. Even expensive ones, bought in the beauty aisle, haven’t worked well for me. When I got these titanium tweezers from County Comm, I wasn’t expecting much. I was wrong, very wrong. I’m totally sold on these tweezers. I used them the other day to pull out a metal sliver, which impressed me; most tweezers will slip off of metal.
I’m a gadget guy, with a drawer full of things I either don’t use or they didn’t work well. Not these, these will get used quite often.

I’m able to finally use weights again. Low weights, stretches and resistance bands. Using a 2# weight to do 3 sets of 10 doesn’t seem like I’m getting anything done, but my wrist tells me differently. The soft wrist brace is a nice touch, too. Plastic splints get old real quick.

Putting together a new shooting belt. Weaving MOLLE isn’t as glamorous as it sounds. Goodbye leather, hello modern shooting kit. But, I can say that I passed all of my basic auto pistol training using leather kit. I had no advantage in any way, it was all hard work.

I was too lazy to get my headlamp, so I used a flashlight to help me grill. It was a pleasant 20° outside, there was no reason to make these burgers inside.
Check out County Comm’s flashlight, the AAx2. I use them for duty carry and all around the house.

Time for home therapy. This is the most important part of recovery. Yet, it is the part where people fail the most. Everyone wants to get better immediately after the surgery. They are excited to begin therapy, they even do the first few exercises at home. For me, it has now been 6 weeks post-surgery. The excitement of “getting better” has worn off. Therapy twice a week isn’t enough. Now, it is up to me to keep up with the therapy, if I want to fully heal.

Was anyone else either underwhelmed or confused by this series?
I think part of the problem is that it didn’t grab me and hold my attention. Too much jumping around, IMO, at the beginning. That meant that I didn’t bond with the characters. Usually, I’m ok with this kind of stuff, but I just didn’t track well during this series.
I really wanted to like the show, and thought the premise was fantastic. It just didn’t quite hit the mark. Or, am I crazy?

I was looking for a new IFAK and picked up this Grey Ghost Gear (GGG) Slim Medical Pouch based on a recommendation from some trusted friends.
I own other GGG products and have always been happy with the quality. This pouch didn’t disappoint. The zippers run smoothly, and you can open the pouch using the zipper pulls or just pulling the tab on top. There is MOLLE webbing on each side for accessories and elastic school cord for securing small items. You could carry up to 3 tourniquets on the outside, if you choose. No decent med pouch/IFAK would be complete without a velcro field, and there is a generously sized one right on the front.
Inside, there are several elastic loops to help secure the contents. It is large enough to hold a pre-made, sealed kit, or you can build your own. Just decide what you are going to use it for, general med kit or IFAK, and pack accordingly.
It carries best on a vest, but wasn’t too unwieldy on a belt. I had it with me during some recent training and didn’t have to use it. Hopefully, I will wear out the nylon and change out the contents a dozen times and still never use it. That would be a win in my book.

I had several people ask if I could just drop the Head Down/Mouth Shut Stickers into a regular envelope. I saw no reason not to do this, and now they are happy
I’ve now changed the pricing options to reflect non-tracked shipping in a plain envelope. If you want, you can still have tracked shipping in a padded envelope, too.
You can check out the stickers here: https://silvertreeindustries.bigcartel.com/product/head-down-mouth-shut-sticker

I’ve been working on a few new items. Some are still in the beta testing stage, trying to get them just right. One, though, is finally ready.
After many requests, I now have Head Down/Mouth Shut vinyl stickers. They are perfect for when people are judging you because of your dip and Velcro and gear bullshit. Now, you can get rid of the Velcro and still make a statement.
These are 2”x3”, like the patches. Available individually, in 3 packs or with a patch.
