DECO REVIVAL MINI PACK by amoebae

I wanted to put my Deco Revival palettes to good use, so I recoloured a bunch of walls and floors so we have more choice when building our art deco spaces (or for any other space, of course!). I added in the standalone wainscoting from the Decor to the Max kit, because it’s such a useful item.

”Under The Plumbob Podcast” Week 3 Beachy-Bathroom Build Challenge

First let me say, better late than never! My husband and I were out of town on a mini-vacation since Thursday. Upon our return, I got sick with a nasty summer cold. I’m feeling better and here to share my creation. 

Description: The inspiration for this bathroom build actually came from description of the “In Or Out? - Outdoor Shower” from the Island Living Pack (see below for the description). I think this shower was meant to jump in to rinse away sand after a day at the beach, but when I read the description, I just pictured those amazing outdoor soaking tubs and showers that are just wide open to the outside elements. The ones you see on private islands in exotic locations (which I know I will never be able to afford!). The thought of hearing the ocean as you take a relaxing bath, or looking up at the stars as you wash your hair sounded like a dream, and if I can’t have it IRL, my Sims always get to. I wanted it to be Semi-private, hence the fence, just because really it seems a little unnecessary to be taking a bath in nude with other Sims walking by!

Taking pictures for this was difficult as it was such a small space! I do plan on sharing this whole house eventually as I am totally in love with it!#

Side note: this is the same house/family I am using for the August Collection Challenge so note some of the shells on the shelf above the toilet and on the counter. As well as the pictures on the far wall are the Underwater Picture she has collected. It felt fitting to display them since my Sim has worked particular hard to find some of them!

Lot Name: Oasis Haven ”Under The Plumbob Podcast” Week 2 CAS Build Challenge

Description: Create a house using only the Basegame, Get Together, Dine Out, and Cool Kitchen Stuff. I used a floor plan found on Pinterest as inspiration. 

This challenge really made me step out of my comfort zone of using CC. I enjoyed discovering content from past games, and building a smaller “starter” home. 

The house is an open floor plan with 2 bedrooms, one being used as an office space with a coffee bar included. Beautiful outdoor space with a pool. Plenty of room on the lot to expand if needed.

Description: Part 2 of Week 1 Build Challenge. The downstairs is where I spent most of my time, other than the structure itself, of course. I absolutely love the dining room.

Lot Name: Week 1 Build Challenge Part 3 (2nd Level)

Description: Part 3 of Week 1 Build Challenge. It was hard to design bedrooms without having characters in mind. The rooms are built for the parents (Black and white room), 1 teen girl (the coral, flower room), and a toddler (girl or boy). 

The master bedroom has an on suite that is also black and white. 

I had a blast working on this design. I think next week, I will focus on the structures/outside so that people can design to their taste. From listening to Under the Plumbob, it sounds like a lot of people dislike the actual structure making and the exterior of houses. I really enjoy this part, so I think I might make that my focus so that others can enjoy my creations without having the download a lot of CC.

Lot Name: Week 1 Build Challenge Part 1

Description: Week 1 Build Challenge was... a challenge to say the least. I usually take much, much longer to build and design a house. Sometimes the creative juices just aren’t flowing, but for this I had to make it happen! As always, I use a TON of CC. I didn’t have time to include all the links, but I hope to add them soon. In the meantime, if there is something you just HAVE to have, feel free to ask! 

I matched the outside and the layout as closely as I could to the original. Once I got started design, I realized my “sim-style” just didn’t match the inspiration so I started designing to my taste. It felt like the house needed a beautiful backyard with a garden. I created the house with a gardener/florist sim in mind. I created a tool bench in the garage for the “handy” sim. 

I did not have enough time of finish designed the upstairs, and left one room empty. I planned to make it a game room and a bathroom off of the upstairs hallway.
