Winterfest - Delgatos

At Glory's house, she had a particularly special Winterfest dinner planned. She invited her best friends over. It was time. It had finally worked out for Glory that Marisol would be there for a major holiday.

While she cooked, Zenith explained the human traditions to Marisol.

"But why decorate the tree?" She asked.

"It's pleasing to look at. It brings joy."

"And why do they eat so much?"

"Ah. Food is a social activity on earth as much as a necessity for survival. The good mood encourages people to eat past being full."

"I will have to try it."

Glory called everyone to dinner as soon as her guests arrived, her timing impeccable. Marisol and Zenith joined the others in the dining room. Sophie let out a cheerful gasp and ran to embrace Marisol.

"Glory didn't say you'd be here! This is wonderful!"

"That is what I am told. I'm just grateful to be here and that you're taking care of our family when I'm gone."

"Shut the hell up, she's real," Gabrielle whispered to Guy.

"We owe Glory a huge apology."

"She's never going to let us live this down."

"Honestly, we shouldn't. We were bad friends. Really bad friends."

Did I really make up a whole elaborate backstory for Angelo just so I’ll have someone to give these kittens to? Absolutely!!😭 but why am I tearing up at the idea of Angelo taking those Christmas pics just so he can email it to his mum🥺 He moved away from home when he was pretty young but he always made it a habit to visit often and even more so after his dad’s passing and especially in Spring cause it’s a busy time on the ranch and he can help out. In other news I sold his winery y’all… sigh honestly it just was kinda hard keeping up with two businesses and especially when wine selling wasn’t made compatible with B&H at all (oh EA when I catch you!! ) So now he’s in the Culinary Career and I think it works just as well💛

Wishes

Shortly after Harvestfest, Wyatt joined Lucy in elementary school. Sometimes Lucy would go over to Wyatt's house. They were doing their reading assignment together, a book called With Upon A Star.

"What do you wish for?" Lucy asked him when they had finished the chapter.

"I don't think I've seen a shooting star," he said.

"Well, what about on your birthday? What's your birthday wish?"

"We're not supposed to share those, Luce."

"I think we can tell each other. But only each other. It'll stay between you, me and the candles, okay?"

"Okay. You first."

"I wished that one day I can paint as good as Penelope Harper. I saw her paintings at the library. I want to do that."

"I wished that we lived in Harper Valley. I don't like living so far away from you and Uncle Kip and Aunt Lottie."

"What about my Nana?"

He shifted uncomfortably. "She makes me nervous. But you can't say anything, promise?!"

"Promise." She held out her pinky finger to him. "I will always keep your secrets. Forever and ever."

"Infinity plus one."

"I'd like it if you lived closer, too. Then we could see each other all the time."

"Maybe one day we will."

"Let's finish our chapters before I go home. I want to know if they get their wish."

You complimented my pink sweater vest and I complimented your hot pink hair. We connected over our mutual love of pink and finding out we attended the same dance school as kids. (Casey grins). Ever since then, I've been falling hard for you, Case, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you and our two beautiful girls.

Casey: Mal, I feel the same. When I first met you, you were so gorgeous and elegant and poised and knew exactly what you wanted. I've gotten to know you more and see all the amazing sides of you: the dedicated dancer, the goofy sister to Finley and loving daughter to your moms, the amazing mom of our nooboos, who's always so patient even when Lili paints the floors with ketchup-(Everyone laughs and Lilia grins and waves)-or Yu insists on dressing as a bumble bee for our ceremony. (Yusun giggles and blows a kiss to her moms), as well as the most amazing partner I could ask for who's supported me through the best and worst times. I love every one of those sides I've gotten to know, but most of all I love you, Malaya Isip-Mendoza.

Malaya’s eyes tear up, and Casey's do too.

Malaya: Don't make me cry, Case. Piper spent half an hour doing our makeup. (Casey laughs and Malaya does too), and I love you too, Casey, I love all of you.

They exchange rings, and kiss as everyone cheers and confetti floats down from the arch onto them. Lilia and Yusun cheer the hardest for their moms, and all of their loved ones are teary eyed as Malaya pulls away from Casey and looks lovingly into her eyes.

RL Story

My little nephew and I were walking around in our neighbourhood. My Grandma has seen two cats playing in the garden of this... uninhabited old house. My nephew loves cats as much as I do, so we made our way to this place, to look for the cats. 😻Once we got there, Denis ran into this messy garden and wanted to play hide-and-seek with me. I was afraid of losing that little monkey, so I ran after him. He was pretty fast but I found him!

I looked around and wondered if this old house was really empty?Supposedly no one lived here. And yes, at first sight it seemed so. Still, there were old outdoor-fruniture on the porch and broken plant pots. Also some tools on the ground, as if someone was working here? I asked Denis to be careful, he was on the porch playing.

As I looked at the windows of the house, which were quite dirty btw, Denis called for me. "Auntie, Auntie, look! I found a cat. Hehe so cuteee." But I could not turn my eyes away from that old house. I was completly somewhere else with my thoughts. Although I was only distracted for a short moment, I lost sight of the little one!😱 Damn! Sonja will kill me, I thought!😬

However, I saw that a door to the winter garden of the house was open, where Denis was just playing. I didn’t want to go in there, but my nephew was alone in this house. I had to get him out!

I went in. "Denis, get over here now ", I yelled to him.

He answered, "I’m here!"... "Look the kittie's here Aunite, come to me!"

I followed Denis' voice, he was right next door. I was relieved! Just before I entered the room where Denis was playing, I heard someone else talking to him, a guy. "Hey, little dude! Who are you?"...

Hm? The voice seemed familiar to me. 😕I was only a step or two away from Denis, but an open door stood between us, which is why my nephew and the guy who spoke to him, didn't see me. Carefully and quietly, I pushed the already slightly opened door a little more, to see who my nephew was talking to? And.....omg!

It was Daniel! 😬

Denis started to cry. He probably got scared, because he thought no one was in this house and now there was a big, strange guy standing in front of him.

Daniel immediately tried to calm him down. He explained to him he just wants to help him. Crying, Denis called for me: "Wuahhh😭.. Aunite, Auniteee!"

I had no choice but to go in there and be there for my little nephew. He saw me and hugged me immediately. Agh, poor Baby... And whether this reunion with Daniel went well and why he was here in this old house, I will tell next time.
