Oh my god I just heard about toddlers in Sims 4!  I know I’m a little late but I’ve been busy so I’m kinda out of the loop.  Once I’m done posting my Sims 3 stuff for today, I’ll check it out!

Our story starts with a young adult named Roderick Dogherty.   Everything about him was randomized, the only thing I chose myself was the clothing.
His traits are: Hates the Outdoors, Proper, Good, Kleptomaniac, and Shmoozer. His Lifetime Wish is to become Leader of the Free World.
Favorite food: Frog Legs
Favorite music: Hip Hop
Favorite color: Irish Green
Astrological Sign: Libra
He moved into this nice little house in Riverview and wants to go to Sims University to get a head start on his career.  There’s one problem though: he spent almost all of his money on the house and is only left with 40 Simoleons.

The beginning of my main story will be posted tomorrow, I just need to set everything up.  I’ll also try to change the appearance of this blog so it looks less boring.

I’ll be starting a new household in Sims 3, and maybe I’ll do it for the other 2 games at some point, to have an ongoing story for this blog.  I’ll try to make it as interesting as possible and this is the one time I’m gonna start a story that isn’t really planned out, it’s just gonna go in whatever direction it does.

I happened to go on YouTube just now and saw this.  This is the official trailer for a new game pack featuring vampires.  I have mixed feelings honestly.  On the one hand, I like that they’re adding a new life form to the game again (vampires, specifically) and the dark aesthetic is especially appealing to me.  It also looks like the vampires can turn into bats so I’m glad to finally see that.  I’m curious to see what other powers the vampires have and how else, if at all, they’re different from the previous games.  The vampires look really cool and I’m already imagining the vampire Sims I should make.  I also like the music in the trailer.  I’m actually a little excited.
But...
It looks like this is just vampires (and a new world and some other stuff).  I know this is just a game pack, which is like a mini expansion, but still.  Does this mean there won’t be any other supernatural beings?  Because this pack seems pretty fitting to include them all.  I’m afraid of this being a watered down version of Supernatural.  This isn’t a real complaint, but I think Halloween would’ve been a better time to release this, but again, that’s like...beyond nitpicking.  Plus that’d be an extra 9 months to wait.
In any case, looks like this is coming out in less than 2 weeks so until then, I’ll just sit here and be cautiously excited.

First post!
So before I post anything else, I just want to establish how I feel about each of the Sims games (the ones I’ve played, at least)
Sims 2 - Wow, this one is my second favorite.  There’s a lot I love about it.  This actually isn’t the first one that I’ve played, I grabbed it when Origin was giving it away for free a few years ago, and it’s the ultimate collection too so I have every single expansion and stuff pack.  First thing I wanna say is that all the music in this one is my favorite out of the series.  I just love listening to it.  I also love the way the Sims themselves are, with the turn-ons and turn-offs, the chemistry, and the way the relationships are.  Two of my other favorite things are businesses and apartments.  Overall, it’s a lot of fun and aside from the lack of an open world and story progression (which I can forgive because everything else is so good and it’s kinda early in the series), I can’t think of anything I dislike.
Sims 3 - This is my favorite.  I have almost every expansion pack and actually, the first time I played this was about 6 years ago on the PS3, then later got the PC version.  I went a while with only having the base game and even that was still a ton of fun on its own.  It didn’t run so well on my old computer but I got a new one a couple years ago and it runs just fine on that so that’s one less thing that can stop me from playing it for hours at a time.  I love exploring the worlds, and they feel so dynamic with the story progression.  Create a Style is also pretty great.  Everything that the expansions added made it even more enjoyable.  One thing that annoys me though is trying to add stairs to a basement when I have a foundation, but I’ve even found ways around that.
Sims 4 - This one really is a mixed bag.  Let me start by saying my favorite things about this game are Create a Sim and Build Mode.  They really hit it out of the park in those aspects.  My favorite things to do in the game are make Sims and build houses because it’s so intuitive and there’s a lot of variety with my Sims’ appearance.  The graphics look great too.  I also like the Gallery, it’s easy to find what I’m looking for and to share the stuff I made that I’m particularly proud of.  I have all of the expansions and game packs they released to date.  However, the actual gameplay is a hit or miss.  Sims 2 not having story progression or an open world was forgivable, but now this game came after Sims 3 so it feels like a step backward.  It’s like my Sims are living their lives in a vacuum.  I like the restaurants, and everything that was added in Get Together made the game a lot more fun.  I like the emotions, even though sometimes it’s annoying how they can be manipulated so easily.  I feel like a lot of things in the game could’ve been really good, but are just incomplete.  Some things have been added with patches but even then, I feel like something’s missing when I play.  I can’t really call it bad, but I’m just disappointed.  And I’m not sure if it’s just me, but the previous games made it easy to play any kind of household they want, whether it’s a family with 3 kids, or an old retired couple, or a group of friends who do whatever they want.  But I feel like the gameplay here is geared more towards young, single Sims.  A little more variety would be nice.  I think that’s everything I have to say for now.
And that’s all for now! I’ll change and update this as I see fit.
