i come with firewind headcanons (angst edition)

If Fire Spirit were to perish/die/crumble/be permanently incapacitated/whatever, Wind Archer Cookie would probably try and insist that he doesn't need anyone else with him, but deep down his feelings of protecting the forest extend to protecting anyone he cares about (which just so happens to include Fire Spirit Cookie).

(non angst hc) They wouldn't get "married" in the traditional sense but I think that they would wear each other's trinkets as a sign of a deep bond (this i like to hc happens with other cookies and all types of deep bonds — familial, platonic, ect)

Wind Archer crumbling would be very difficult for Fire Spirit to handle. it is at least a little bearable since WA would still exist as the wind of the forest despite the body dying. Despite this, I think it would still put Fire Spirit in a very volatile state of mind. Sometimes a gust of the forest's wind will blow specifically at Fire Spirit, as if it is reminding him "I'm still here. I remember you. I'm alive"

I think it would be really hard for The Wind of the Forest to watch Fire Spirit's distress over the death of its old mind and body.

The Wind of the Forest i hc to be Wind Archer Cookie but more detached from feelings that come with being a cookie. It would be upsetting for The Wind of the Forest to realize that it cares for Fire Spirit Cookie, yes, but over time the feelings for him become more indistinguishable from the general feeling of loving the forest. TWotF would keep memories of its time as Wind Archer Cookie. But the emotions connected to those memories become less and less over time, as if it never actually happened to it (guess who's projecting emotional disconnection onto a comfort character AKFBDKSKS)

It’s super fun to think about how they would react to the other crumbling because they probably are not expecting it. Like, they are immortal so age won’t get to them and they are strong so killing them would be hard, but if it ever happened… oh boy.

Wind Archer definitely cares more than he shows and it makes me upset to see a lot of people portray Wind Archer as a cold and uncaring person when he is extremely nice, and he does care, he just have problems showing it because he can’t let that care get in the way of his duties, so he tries really hard to not deal with the grief of Fire Spirit’s crumbling but sometimes he forgets that he can just… feel. I think he would just hide his anger and sadness as much as possible and deny all the people trying to help him because he is FINE, thank you, and just breakdown when it gets to much for him to handle (it happens a lot of times when he is alone).

Maybe he learns to accept the fact that Fire Spirit won’t come back, maybe he learns to cope with his death in a horrible way (probably), I don’t know what ending I prefer.

For Fire Spirit’s reaction… there are multiple endings that I believe could happen.

Just like Wind Archer, he HATES to show vulnerability but for a totally different reason, so maybe he would just insist he is okay and hide himself from everyone, or maybe he would burn all of Earthbread because he got out of control, maybe he would just get incredibly mad and set fire to everything that gets in his way. But either way, I like to think that sometimes, he would just go to the forest, the same one Wind Archer protected and cared with everything he had, and just… stay there, watching the flowers and observing the birds and feeling the breeze, because in the end of the day, even if he is not there physically… he is there, maybe without his memories and conscience, but still… there, free and alive (in a way), so he will just continue believing that the wind still remembers him and all the times they had together because… it’s easier to handle.

And for the non angst hc… this is so them, just wearing something that the other gave them means so much more than a traditional weeding because for them that’s what matters, the love and the care that was put into that gift and all the silent promises it came with. They don’t need a big party to prove their love to each other, maybe it’s not even a ring, it doesn’t need to be traditional, it just needs to be real, and it is.

My firewind headcanons 😈

-when wind archer realised he have feeling for fs, he buried that feeing deep inside just so that he wont get distracted with his mission and he probably thought it wont work out since both have their own things to protect.

-Fire spirit is def touch starved. He is literally the guardian of fire, I doubt that he can even touch cookies without burning them. Plus if you listen to his old dialogue (korean ver) he often offer a hug

-Fire spirit always careful whenever he touch wind archer. Like if he almost put his hand on wind archer's shoulder, he quickly pull it away and act like nothing happened. He just dont want to accidentally hurt him 😭

-Fire spirit and Wind archer have fought side by side b4 that they know each others fighting style and synchronise when battle

- Wind archer always calms Fire spirit down whenever he got angry

-Whenever they want to meet up, it's always somewhere that is not in the forest (to avoid fs from accidentally burning the forest) But if they do meet up in the forest, Fire spirit would cover his fiery hair with his cape and tied it up like those grandma headscarf.

-Fire spirit always try to make wind archer rest because of how overworked he is. Wind archer agreed at first but then went back to work 5 minutes later.

-Both Fire spirit and Wind archer looks like the type of person that's afraid to be vulnerable.Since Fire spirit hate to be seen as weak and wind archer have to be on guard 24/7 (not to mention selfless too) so they both have trouble communicating with their feelings to each other.

More headcanons 🥳 what a great day

Yes. Just yes. Both Wind Archer and Fire Spirit hides their emotions but like for completely different reasons. Wind Archer wants to focus on his job and can’t let something like love get in his way and Fire Spirit just hates the thought of being seen vulnerable because he is THE Fire Spirit, the guardian of flames, the guy who got the favor of the Legendary Greenish Red Dragon, so even tho he doesn’t suck as much to show his emotions like Wind Archer, he is still so oblivious and such a loser. Like yeah, he will go around flirting with Windy and following him around, but he doesn’t need him, he just likes the company of someone as great as him, and he definitely does NOT want to touch Wind Archer like at ALL, so if you saw Fire Spirit reaching to touch WA and just looking like he was holding himself from physically combusting because he can’t even touch Wind Archer’s hand without burning him… no you didn’t.

But seriously, imagine when Fire Spirit finally finds a way to touch Wind Archer, being it a potion or just some gloves of some sort (and when they finally accept that it’s okay to have feelings like a normal person), that guy is going to be attached to Windy by the hip. (Also I did not know about the Korean translations thing, that’s super fun and sad as well, poor guy he just wants a hug)

Also, even if they don’t say it a lot with words that they care for each other, their actions speak volumes. Fire Spirit will be up on Wind Archer all day for him to finally get a break and rest because holy shit does that guy ever stops?? And while Wind Archer doesn’t need to tell Fire Spirit to rest because… well, he doesn’t really need a reminder, whenever they fight together (which happens a lot, to the point both they can easily go to battle together because it just works so well, and it’s not like they need help to fight, but it’s just more fun to have the other near) Wind Archer will patch Fire’s wounds and scold him whenever he makes a move that was too dangerous for himself or whenever FS is just about to burn everything because of stress Wind Archer will just… be there and calm him down. They both hate being told what to do, but they feel really cared for and loved whenever the other does something like that for them.

I loved the idea of Fire Spirit just protecting his hair with his cape whenever he goes to the forest.,WA almost loses his shit every time because it’s so funny to see Fire Spirit looking like a grandma but at the same time starts loving him even more every time because the only reason he is doing this is to protect the forest. Bonus point if the forest has some sort of magic that Millennial Tree made to protect it from fire because he noticed that Fire Spirit started visiting more and wanted to make sure that nothing bad would happen (so basically he is using that cape for nothing). Bonus point again if Wind Archer knows about this spell and is just letting Fire Spirit humiliate himself because it’s hilarious.
