               [ his arms instinctively wrapped around her waist, giving her a soft squeeze in the process. he was more than excited for the wedding; two of his best friends would be bound for life, and he knew that they would last forever. he took in her words carefully, nodding before laying back on his bed, slight exhaustion from earlier events and kennedy's huge announcement now taking over. ]                   "I guess I kinda have to share. It's out celebration pizza. So who's planning the bachelor and bachelorette party?" He wondered, a smirk playing on his lips as he thought about the MTV version of bachelor parties (which probably hold more truth than most people think). "It's normal. You're young and this is your first, and hopefully last marriage. Although, I think I do recall getting married to you in the sandbox a long ass time ago."

                  [ a huge grin broke out onto kennedy’s face at his reply and she couldn’t help but squeal slightly and jump into his arms, hugging him tightly. even as a kids, whenever she pictured herself getting married, she always knew she wanted simon to give her away. most girls would have their father or brother but in her case, she didn’t have a stable male figure besides simon and theo and it only made sense for her best friend to play such a major role in her wedding, right? ]

                  “A large box of pizza? I hope you’re gonna share.” She giggled and kissed the boy’s forehead gently and smiled. “Yeah, I know…it’s weird to think about, you know? I mean, I feel like it’s all a dream and I’m gonna wake up from it soon or something. Is it normal to feel a bit scared?”

                 [ simon couldn't even find the words to reply with as he stared on the ring that adorned her finger. he was happy for her -- he truly was; she and theo deserved each other and they were absolutely perfect for each other -- but did this mean that he would lose his best friend for good? it was no secret that whenever he tried to visit her, she'd always be busy with theo, or they would hang out in a group. and he was fine with that, really, but sometimes he needed his best friend. just his best friend. although, the end of her little announcement made his eyes widen. ]                   "Wait, you want me to -- but... shouldn't ----"                [ he interrupted himself, realising that there was never a stable male in her life, save a few close friends, him, and theo. and he doubted that she trusted her close friends enough to give her away, and theo was going to be standing on the other side of the aisle. ]                  "Of course I'll do it," he grinned. "God, my best friend's getting married. What the fuck, we're going up, Kenny. Here you are with a fiance, and here I am with a large box of pizza; exactly how I imagined it."

                      “I don’t yell at you unless I find it necessary. Well, maybe we should tell your neighbors to stop being such pussies. Ugh, well, —————- I mean that I think we solved it. Noel and I. Did I tell you he’s back? ‘Cause he is and since he’s been back, he’s been hellbent on making my life hell. But last night was a mess because….well, before I go on about Noel, I have to tell you something.”

                  [ with that, kennedy held up her hand, showing the boy the engagement ring on her finger. in all honesty, she never thought she’d be nineteen and engaged but she’d never felt more sure about something in her entire life. biting her lip, she shot simon a smile and grabbed his hand, squeezing it gently. ]

                    “Theo proposed over the weekend. I-I want you to walk me down the aisle and give me away, Simon.”

               "No, we're definitely not. You always end up yelling at me for no good reason and I yell back because you're being stupid, and we end up getting noise complaints from the neighbors. -------- Wait, you think you guys solved it? Who is 'we' anyway? God, what did I miss?"                [ his mind screamed 'you', because he did miss her. it was tough enough that he barely saw kennedy due to his busy work schedules and insane dedication to school. not to mention having to take care of his little sister and making sure his mom was alright. though, he'd drop everything for kennedy. she was there when he was at his lowest, though she didn't know that he was at his breaking point (and she never will; showing weakness wasn't something simon was too fond of), and he vowed to himself that he would give her everything she needed. ]

                     ”Why are you still up then? We’re always quiet, I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Kennedy pouted slightly and stepped inside the house, instantly moving closer to him, wrapping her arms around him in a hug. “You don’t have to kick anyone’s ass, okay? I think…I think we solved it. But I do have news.”

                   [ even just setting foot into simon’s room instantly sent a wave of relief over kennedy. there was something about the boy that could light a fire in her or put her completely and totally at ease. kennedy was comfortable around simon — something she wasn’t with a lot of people. her entire life had revolved around him for as long as she could remember. their moms had been friends before they were born so naturally, the pair had grown up together. it was always kennedy and simon and that was the way it’d always be. ]

               [ ah, alright; now it made sense to the male. he was used to her seeking comfort in him, and simon didn't mind it one bit -- in fact, he loved it. he loved knowing that he could make her feel safe. he loved her. for as long as he could remember, it had always been simon and kennedy, kennedy and simon. and he knew that wasn't going to change anytime soon. ]                  "Welcome back? Uh, c'mon in. The ladies are asleep so we might have to be a bit, or a lot, quieter than usual. You gonna tell me what happened and give me a good reason why I shouldn't kick anyone's ass?"

                           [ it was nearly 3am and here she was, knocking on simon’s door. kennedy really had no shame in seeking her best friend at any given time of day or night and tonight was no exception. after a rollercoaster of emotions with noel, the girl didn’t want so see anyone else but simon. he’d always had a way of bringing her back to reality and calming her down like no one else could. ] 

                             ”I know, I know. But no, I’m back. I landed earlier. Today went from amazing to shitty in less than 24 hours. I have a lot to tell you, so just…let me in.”

               [ he didn't know what to expect when he opened the door that evening, but he definitely didn't expect his punk ass of a best friend to be on the other side. he thought she was still in paris and -- god damn it! did she dye her hair again? he could never keep up with her. ]                    "Kenny? Wh - What are you ------ isn't it late? Shouldn't you be at home or in Paris or something?"
