The Last King of Faerie as in the last time Faerie has a monarch ruling over them.

The Last Prince of Hell as in the last time the demon princes work separately.

The Last Shadowhunter as in the last time the term Shadowhunter is referred to as a profession/species. It would just be nephilim now, the fifth species among Downworlders.

•killing off kit and barely have anyone grieve him. that grief admission BELONGED TO KIT. THAT WAS HIS FUCKING TIME WE KNOW JAMES WILL BE FINE HES A HERONDALE AND WILL LIVE MATTHEW IS OKAY BUT KIT DIED TO SAVE CORDELIA AND SHE TREATS IT AS NOTHING. while Anna does get sad, Thomas and Grace are really the only ones who grieve him

•not having Alastair pov. COME ON ALASTAIR DESERVED BETTER

•not giving a flying shit about the series and clearly showing us that

•not treating thomastair as they deserved. they should’ve been the main characters I don’t care

•treating Cordelia as some sex object and the only thing James can get behind like she reminds you of food????? BOY STOP

•not letting Matthew have development. I do not remember him making amends with Alastair the way Alastair does to Matthew. also manipulating Alastair into taking care and seeing Charles basically (THE PERSON WHO HURT AND HID ALASTAIR)

•the Ari/Anna stuff. that wasn’t handled well

•oh and trying to say that all shadowhunters are alike so incest is okay (I just vomited)

•four hundred pages of miscommunication in chain of thorns

•worldbuilding and pathetic attempts at villains

•Cordelia killing Tatiana when she had no business doing that

•how James trauma is handled and the arc with grace

•Lucie and Cordelia being parabatai. they should not have done that

•bland Lucie and Jesse stuff. come on she had better chemistry with Matthew

•not having more Gideon and Gabriel content I don’t care if it’s not about them I miss them

•making Will and Tessa have to fuck anytime someone dies and not showing Gabriel and Cecily mourn Kit and not say anything when their young toddler gets fucking kidnapped and tortured

•also not having a full thomastair dinner scene even though we had to endure Cordelia and James

•the love triangle of James Cordelia Mathew we didn’t ask for or need

I’m probably forgetting stuff and these are probably not in order but

1. killing kit

2. not giving thomastair more content

3. and Alastair not having pov (and his treatment he gets from Matthew and Cordelia)

is probably my main top grievances and if you had any of these, you may be entitled to compensation

i know we don't like charles but i can only feel sorry for him..

yes maybe the age thing was weird idk i'm not keeping track of when they met and all that. but otherwise i think he was just lonely and lost.

clearly he loved alastair. he called for him when he was dying, other people noticed the way he looked at him, etc.

he was just too attached to his career and social status to risk it for alastair. and yes he was annoying about wanting to be the consul but can we really blame him for not wanting to let go of that? it's a good job, it would give him money and security and influence, and not everyone can throw everything away for the purpose of expressing their true selves like anna and matthew.

i think judging charles for putting his stable career and safe life above his feelings for alastair is not right. a lot of queer people don't have much of a choice in the matter, and charles is no different. i don't believe he had a choice. at least not a free choice.

charles was just.. scared. and he had a shit ton of internalized homophobia i'm sure. and no one was there to help him through it except maybe alastair who was pulling away from him because charles kept hurting him.

if no one noticed matthew's drinking problem then you best believe no one noticed charles's problem. matthew was more loved, by his parents and his friends, and still no one cared enough to try to help him with his drinking. charles was not liked by anyone, he was alone, sure as hell no one gave two shits about him to try to help him with his feelings.

don't get me wrong, alastair had every right to leave him for these same reasons, but demonizing charles is not the way to go about this.

pretending to be straight, marrying a woman and dooming her and himself in a loveless marriage, having an affair with someone behind her back, keeping alastair a secret.. no one likes these things but i do not blame charles even one bit for wanting to do that. so many queer people have done that and i don't think lumping charles in with the bad guys for doing that is a good thing.

anyway i'm probably talking to myself over here but i really believe charles just needed a hug and someone to be there for him. he was just lonely and confused :(

matthew avoided the paris institute like the plauge, but charles definitely didn't. so they saw each other at least once.
