M A R C  J A C O B S Brand Review

Marc Jacobs has been one of my favorite brands for such a long time.

To see a business flourish and grow is amazing! Over the summer, I had the opportunity to visit their location in NYC on Madison Avenue.

It was a beautiful experience. I have noticed that their brand has a more modern and youthful look.

I took a ton of pictures and loved the aesthetic of the store. They have a beauty bar, cafe, and even a music station to buy vinyl records!

Marc Jacobs is the head designer of the Marc Jacobs brand and their diffusion line, Marc by Marc Jacobs. He studied at Parsons School of Design in New York . While he was there, he designed a collection of handmade knit sweaters.

He created Jacob Duffy Designs Inc. with his creative collaborator and business partner Robert Duffy, in the mid-1980s.

In 1986, he launched his first collection under the Marc Jacobs name. In 1988, he became the youngest ever designer to be awarded the Council of Fashion Designers of America Perry Ellis Award for “New Fashion Talent”.

Additionally, he hired Tom Ford to work on womenswear and launched his first collection for Perry Ellis, which incorporated the American flag in 1989.

In 1997, Marc Jacobs was appointed as the creative director of Louis Vuitton and created the brand’s first ready-to-wear line. He departed from this role in 2013.

His brand has expanded, offering cosmetics, fragrances, shoes, handbags, wallets, and accessories.

In terms of advertising, utilizing their YouTube channel and posting more can help. They post videos that show behind the scenes footage from fashion shows, travel diaries, and beauty campaigns.

I think they can engage with their followers more if more content was posted on the official channel. For example, if they have interviews or speak at summits or award shows, that should be shared.

Marc Jacobs is already a successful brand in itself, but they can continue to be successful by connecting more with their consumers and followers.

Fenty Beauty Gloss BOMB Review!

Fenty Beauty is one of my favorite makeup brands! I’ve been a fan of Rihanna for a very long time so seeing her brand flourish and grow makes me so proud. I only have a few products from Fenty Beauty, but my favorite is the Fenty Gloss Bomb in Fenty Glow! 

This lip gloss is one of my go-tos! It has such a creamy and smooth formula. It has a beautiful shimmer and shine. It feels a bit tacky like a traditional gloss, but still hydrating. I use this lip gloss all the time, and it feels so light on my lips. Also, it has a beautiful rosey nude tint. It’s meant to look good on various skin tones. 

It’s absolutely gorgeous and stunning! The doe-foot applicator is curved perfectly for an easy application. The gloss has a peachy-vanilla smell and it smells amazing! I love how subtle and sexy this gloss is. It’s suitable to wear all the time and isn’t overbearing. 

Fenty Beauty has released more gloss shades such as Diamond Milk, Fu$$y, and a mini gloss bomb collection! The lip gloss costs $18 and is sold on her website as well as select venders. I have no cons about this product, it’s spectacular!

The Latest Fashion Events in Kent!

It’s so important to be involved within your community and know what’s going on. Being in Kent, there are always events of all kinds happening throughout the year! It’s really exciting to see people come together and support each other!

On October 19th from 7-9:30 pm, the 9th Annual Hope in a Handbag Drive will be going on! It’s a silent auction of new or gently used designer/high-fashion purses. 

The proceeds from this event will go to Safer Futures, Portage County’s only domestic violence shelter and resource center. This will help men, women, and children who have been affected by domestic violence rebuild lives in a safe and comfortable environment!  If you’re interested buying a ticket, being a sponsor, or donating a purse, contact Donya Buchanan for more information @ : 330-673-2500.

I just found out about this event and I think it’s a wonderful and important cause! 

Also, on Kent’s campus, there are usually a ton of events that happen at the Fashion School’s Museum!

On October 18th, there is a Fashion Focus: Wearing Justice Gallery Talk from 2-3 pm. 

KSU Fashion School faculty members Kim Hahn, Trista Grieder, Melissa Campbell as well as students Alexandra Reich, Megan Rodgers, and Michelle Park will share their inspiration and process behind their designs for the exhibition that marks the 50th commemoration of May 4th. 

This event is free for Students and with General Admission..

NYX X KIM CHI CHIC

The founder of NYX Cosmetics, Toni Ko is back and working with Bespoke Beauty Brands. This company is basically an “incubator” and partners with influencers to release cosmetic lines.

Her first launch, is with Kim Chi (Sang-Young Shin), a contestant/influencer on Season 8′s RuPaul’s Drag Race. He has over 1.8 million followers on Instagram! Kim Chi Chic, launches on Oct. 16, is a vibrant and colorful collection of various products. There will be three “High Key Gloss” lip colors, eight glittery “Diamond Sharts” liquid shadows, a “Rainbow Sharts” eye shadow palette and two hand-held, LED-lit mirrors. 

I am such a huge fan of RuPaul’s Drag Race and I cannot WAIT to see what people will have to say about these products! They look absolutely stunning!
