The mental health of black people is so under supported. People just assume we’re strong because we often don’t say anything when something’s wrong bc we are afraid of not being believed. Furthermore, initiatives that prioritize black people in maintaining their mental health are so grossly underfunded due to oppression and racism. This means that many of us fall through the cracks.

Black mental health initiatives need to be prioritized if white people really want to support us. We see our own being killed every single day and deal with intergenerational trauma, racism and intersecting forms of oppression. Many black people live in poverty and cannot afford mental health therapy so your donation to a black mental health initiatives or a black person struggling with mental illness means the world.
