What Next Wren?

After a chaotic couple days, Wren decides it's time to push herself deeper into her life. She needs to not only secure votes to keep progressing in her political career, she WANTS to make friends and maybe give up her Single & Lovin' It lifestyle to find a deep connection. She wants what her parents had.

Wren has VERY specific tastes and finds most sims unattractive. All but Owl Brimley. Unsure where he came from, she hit it off with him as a friend and asked him to move in. They could renovate the cabin together!

Before she knew it, love was blossoming between them! Owl is an adult sim still trying to find his way in the world. He loves the outdoors, is a child of the ocean, and a geek. At first he wanted to be the neighborhood confidante, but thought maybe he should focus on fishing. Turns out: he HATES fishing. He thought maybe centering his goals around camping out be better, so once Wren earned her promotion to Elder Statesperson, he suggested they take a vacation to Granite Falls.

And off they went! Wren needed (and deserved) the vacation away from the real world. Owl quickly realized that maybe this wasn't the right aspiration for him, but they got to see some nature and explore the forest in the winter. The timing was just off in his choices.

Wren's birthday happened to fall on the second day of vacation! It was time for her to officially become an adult and leave the days of young adulthood behind. Right as she started to blow out the candles, she got notice that her mother, Tori, had passed.

They couldn't believe it. Owl knew there was no time to waste. Life is short!!!! He had to ask her to be his girlfriend, to make it official, NOW.

Wren said "YES". She felt the same. What is the point in waiting? Don't they want to see their children grow up too, if they can?

They decided to cut the vacation short and head home. Wren needed to pay her respects.

Star rests between Alessandro and Tori now. Gone to the otherworld, but at peace together. A beautiful life well lived. A beautiful family they created. Now it's all in Wren's hands. What will she do next?

The First Harvestfest (Wren)

The first Harvestfest after moving out, Wren is dealing with the loss of her father Alessandro and knows she has to return home. She knew it was the right choice and as the least busy daughter (only helping to rule the world), she made Harvestfest dinner.

Astra came into the kitchen and helped her Aunt Wren finish up!

After dinner, Wren decided to visit her fathers grave and pay her respects. She missed him greatly and couldn't understand how the universe could take him away before he got to see her get married and have children. He would have loved it.

Wren spent time with her family and decided to head back to her new home for the evening. She spent time by the pond on her property, lit a fire, and enjoyed the fall evening.

As the day got later, she decided maybe she will go out, try to meet people. Who knows? Maybe she could secure votes, find friends, or even fall in love! Sadly, there was just a naked sim and other sims who didn't know what was going on.

After a long day, Wren went home for the remainder of the day. She thought maybe she could please a gnome and offered one pie, but instead the gnome was angered. She begged for forgiveness and got quite a shock to the system. She decided it was better to go to bed at that point and end the day.

Moving Out (Wren)

Wren looked meticulously for a place she could find true peace, build her own life, and achieve her political dreams once graduating. She wanted to go to a place she could help transform and make a difference in the community. With that, Wren decided the best place for her to move was Chestnut Ridge into a tiny log cabin on a lot of property... Palomino Junction.

She knew once she started her career, she could start to make this place her own. There's even a place to have a couple horses, once the time is right.

Before she knew it, she was graduating with honors and got her first job as a Representative in the Political Career. Wren decided it was time to go out and finally celebrate... and start securing some votes!

She woke up early on before her first day... only to receive the news that her father Alessandro Castle had died from old age. She couldn't believe it - she was heartbroken! But duty still called. She had to go to work and serve her community.

The next day was Harvestfest and she would return to her childhood home to be there for her family. She had no other choice. Something about being alone while learning of this loss impacted Wren greatly. Maybe she wasn't actually okay spending her life alone...

The College Days (Wren)

Wren continued to focus on her studies in History at the University of Britechester. She didn't let anything stop her from achieving her goals of graduating and fulfilling her Academic aspiration and earning the Higher Education reward trait. Even if it mean working through low hygiene and eating spaghetti...

Or working while talking with Alessandro...

And spending some time with Tori...

Or donating knowledge to the research machine in pajamas...

Wren worked her butt off to make it happen. While in her last semester, she decided she would move to her own home, so that she could focus and start building a life of her own. With Orion at home, he was there to help Alessandro and Tori as they needed and watch his little one, Astra.

Orion + Gemma = Astra

Orion and Gemma welcomed Astra into their world and were soon met with visitors from Gemma's family: her mother and her brother!

Orion was absolutely smitten with their little girl Astra and spent as much time as he could with her after graduating early.

Gemma continued to go to school and finish her education, while spending time with her new and old family.

And this is where we leave Orion and Gemma for now... as the heir of Tori Ash and Alessandro Castle, Wren's story starts to take its own shape.

Ash Legacy Generation 1

In my previous post, Tori & Alessandro Castle were introduced as the founders of the Ash legacy challenge/family. To be clear for future posts, there aren't really rules with this legacy challenge. I am simply playing as I want to play and leaning into the storylines created by the game, mods, and my imagination. I will use cheats, but not for money. Traits are random based on birth order (i.e., if they are the second sim born I will click the random dice twice, three times if their the third, etc.) and whatever they inherit from their parents (decided by MCCC). The heir selection is left to a random number once all sim children are born. If the heir has been selected, but there is an oopsie, then I will re-roll for heir selection (it's only fair if it's truly random and not controlled by some woman on her computer...).

That being said, I wanted to introduce you to Generation 1 - the children of the founders. We left off when Marya was in high school. There, Marya met Dion Ernest while completing her high school aspiration to be a Drama Llama. Yep, that's what she wanted: all. the. DRAMA. And that's what Marya got after an afternoon rendezvous in the cuddle carts with Dion. She tried to hide the results of that rendezvous, but she couldn't hide it long.

Tori and Alessandro were NOT HAPPY. Some would say they were actually rather angry. (Honestly, Alessandro was probably a little happy cause he wasn't sure if he'd ever get four grandchildren to complete his family aspiration since he waited so long to start a family of his own.)

Tori and Alessandro put their minds together and helped build Marya her own apartment so she could focus on her pregnancy, her child, and finishing high school. While Marya tried her best to graduate early, so she could start focusing on building her farm, she was unsuccessful.

Dion was pretty pumped too.

Soon after, Sylvie Ernest was born into this world - a spellcaster, which was a complete surprise to Marya! She didn't even know Dion was into witchcraft.

The family then suffered the traumatic loss of their beloved Star. Star lived well beyond her years before the Grim Reaper came to collect her. The family still strengthens her bond to the world, so they can have her close, at least until Tori and Alessandro join her on the other side.

Wren was devastated but continued to work diligently in high school with a focus to complete the Goal-Oriented aspiration. She wanted out of there as soon as she could to start university. Not sure what she wanted to do, but she knew it would be something like ruling the world.

Poe was also a teenager around this time, but his main mission was to get into TROUBLE. He wanted to sneak out, party, and prank anyone that walked by him. He had a difficult first day of school that lead him down this path - two workers DIED before classes could even start!

Before Poe knew it, he was channeling his grief into kissing girls and getting into trouble.

Marya graduated high school with honors and was excited to keep growing her family while continuing her relationship with Dion. They had a beautiful white wedding (she couldn't stand the thought of having a wedding similar to her parents) and then moved onto their own lot where they currently are building their farm and raising their FOUR kids.

Wren went on to graduate high school as the valedictorian (if ya got it, ya got it). She's currently a young adult still living with Tori & Alessandro studying to become a judge or a lawyer or something! She may even run for office. Wren somehow was also randomly chosen as heir, which she is taking VERY seriously, but she's not sure she will ever actually get married or have a child. She hasn't even had her first kiss yet!

Poe moved out with a mission to be a menace to society. He wants to be a villain and got out as quick as he could to live in Strangerville. Everyone keeps up on social bunny, but he'd rather mess with them all.

Finally, Orion is still kicking it as a teenager. He fell in love with Gemma Hara (and who wouldn't?!). He's graduated high school early and is focusing on becoming a superstar athlete. Since he can't start his career yet, he decided to try to enroll in college and see if he gets on a team. He's waiting for the acceptance letter now. Orion also messed around with Gemma ONCE (!!!!) and now Gemma has moved in to finish her high school education and prepare for their first child. Once they both age up into young adults, they will look for a place of their own. Maybe even think about marriage, but Orion also thinks about having as much fun as he can.

Orion is also very grateful for Wren because she's the only one who even tried to save him from dying in a fire when he cooked eggs and toast for the first time.

And now you're caught up!

I wanted to be sure the non-heir sims also got attention and that their stories aren't forgotten. While I won't be as hands-on with them as I will be with Wren, you'll occasionally see updates from their lives. Now to actually go play sims so that Wren can continue her journey... I'm sure the next grandchild of Tori and Alessandro will be here before we know it (thanks Orion and Gemma).

PS: what are the odds Orion fell in love with a Gemma?? Talk about names that match!!

Founders - Ash Legacy Challenge

Meet Tori Ash...

or well, a version of her the day she gets engaged.

Tori Ash started with limited income in a starter home in San Sequoia. She doesn't know much about where she came from and she couldn't care less. She wanted to build a life of her dreams beyond her wildest imagination. How did she plan to do this? By being a famous party planner and hosting the wildest raves, DUH!

Well, Tori did plan plenty of events and successfully accomplished her goal of becoming an official party planner. Along the way, she met so many friends and a few lovers before settling down with her future husband, Alessandro Castle. Alessandro was one of the bodyguards she hired for an event, but they quickly fell in love.

While Tori worked to achieve her party planning dreams, Alessandro went to university for a degree in biology. They also adopted their first cat, Star.

Before long, Tori and Alessandro had a beautiful winter wedding - all in black. They stayed true to themselves and had a party to top all parties.

Soon after the wedding was the arrival of their first child, Marya Castle...

Alessandro continued his studies while Tori focused on building a career at home, so they could expand into a larger home in Henford-on-Bagley. With her party days behind her and a new focus on family, she tried different careers - streaming and acting, but ultimately settled on gardening at home.

Soon after Mayra was born, Tori and Alessandro had their second child, Wren Castle.

Alessandro graduated and became an Ocean Observer in the Marine Biologist career, which he absolutely loved (at least until later in life). Tori, Alessandro, Marya, and Wren moved to their new home in Henford-on-Bagley once Alessandro graduated. While it was unfurnished, they worked with what they could to grow a beautiful, large garden and support their new abode.

Life got busy and less and less pictures were taken - a tough lesson they hope their children learn from. But in the meantime, Tori and Alessandro welcomed two other children: Poe Castle and Orion Castle.

Orion was still a baby at this time, but because of the garden, he got as much time with Tori as his siblings. As the kids grew, while Tori and Alessandro may have drifted somewhat apart, they always found their way back to each other. Through their midlife crisis's, Tori looked for more adventure while Alessandro switched into a low ranking business career, where he ultimately retired, sacrificing his large paycheck to be the Assistant to the Assistant Manager.

At this point in their story, Marya has started high school and is quickly making friends. In the next post, I'll go more into detail about the next generation, heir, and more. Thanks for reading!

Introduction

Hey There Fellow Simmers!

My name is Ev and I've been playing the sims for almost as long as I can remember (at least 15+ years), but I never felt the urge to document a story or a legacy until now (probably because I FINALLY got a gaming PC versus using my 10 year old MacBook). Even with that, the founding generation in the legacy is almost over.

But, don't worry! I'll do my best to catch you up with the Ash/Castle family story. If there are any tips or tricks that you have to share, please let me know! I would love to learn more about to how properly document the Ash/Castle family legacy. I'm currently operating out of Google Sheets for the family tree and have not even started to explore posing.

Mostly, this is to honor all the sims families and legacies I never got the chance to document because who can do that on a laptop?! (If you can, kudos to you for REAL!)
