What to expect

Welcome to the OFFICIAL PAGE for the Legacy Stories Challenge made by yours truly, MissLollypop :)

Do you ever find yourself repeating the same steps as me? Create A Sim > Build a house > Have kids > Get bored. Yes? That's why I created this challenge! I have written realistic stories us to play out in the Sims. I also incorporated rules and aspirations that I feel the characters would want to achieve in relation to their story. You may also find a few mods linked as I always use a bunch of mods to play and therefore you will find this challenge requires a few to add depth to gameplay that I feel would greatly benefit our experiences!

Inspiration

I have loved playing The Legacy Challenge, Not So Berry and Whimsy Stories Challenge so my challenge is a little inspired by those but instead with my own twist on it.

Want to change something? Go ahead! I didn't create this challenge in mind to restrict you, if you feel something else would suit a specific generation better, change it! I just hope you enjoy playing and get some ideas from the stories! Bare in mind some of these stories could be triggering for some people with sensitivity around Death, Trauma and Drugs. Everything that could potentially happen IRL, could also occur within these stories as personally I love to play as realistically as possible.

Rules

No money cheats (unless stated otherwise in the rules for story telling purposes)

No mods that make the game easier, we love a struggle here.

You may do anything outside the rules unless stated otherwise eg. If the generation requires to max a specific skill, you may still max other nonrelated skills.

You must complete the goals in each generation to fully complete it, however, if you would like the move onto the next generation as a toddler and come back to the previous generation after, that is also fine as long as you still complete everything.

Complete the goals in order for the story to make the most sense.

Any other children's traits can be selected, it's only the heir's traits that must be according to the rules.

The Game Requirements

Many of the generations include multiple packs, therefore, it is recommended that you have all of them installed. If you don't have them you can always tweak the generations rules to change depending on which packs you own.

You must play with lifespan on Normal.

If you have the packs: Get Famous, Eco Lifestyle, Bust The Dust or Cottage Living you may choose to keep the optional pack settings on/off. I understand some of the buggy packs can be a little tedious to keep them on!

Mod Requirements

These are the mods that will be required for some of the generations, again, If you don't have them/or want to download them you can always tweak the generations rules but it would benefit your gameplay and storytelling to use them!

Career Overhaul Suite by Kuttoe. You will need this for the career requirements as well as the degree nerf addon.

SNBank Bills by SimRealist. You will need this for child support payments, alimony payments and benefit scheme as well as to make the bills more expensive for harder gameplay.

Woohoo Wellness Mod by Lumpinou

Road to Romance Mod by Lumpinou

Wonderful Whims by Turbodriver

Basemental Drugs by Basemental

Mc Command Centre (optional but highly recommended) This is so that whilst you play, other townies stories progress alongside yours!

Socially Anxious Trait by Kuttoe. You can use the in game loner trait instead.

Shorter University Degrees by Peri. I use the 8 credits, university goes on forever in the Sims and it bothered me, I like a challenge but I still like to enjoy the game! To balance it out, I have my University difficulty in MCC set to 200% difficulty.

Spa Day Traits by Kuttoe. You can use the in game high maintenance trait instead.

The Generations

Generation 1 - Criminal has mid-life crisis and becomes super parent

Story:

Growing up you were unloved and not cared for. Your parents didn't even bother with you. This led to your emotions becoming unpredictable and pushing your non exist parents even further away. So you ran away as a teenager, you were an only-child anyway so you have no siblings that will miss you. As a runaway you spend your time not bothering to go to school, since no one bothered to instil that education was important anyway. You make your money stealing at people's houses that're kind enough to let you in and dumpster diving, selling the items you collect and any way possible to be able to get to that next meal. When you're old enough you start your career as a criminal, delving into drug dealing to earn a living and other unsavoury things. You work your way up the career and are fairly respected within your trade. However, everything changes when you become an adult. You meet that one person in your life that really makes you consider the less desirable choices you have made throughout your life. They make you re-evaluate your life and change as a person for the better. They influence you positively to believe in morals and family as they do, something you never even would have dreamed of before. You finally feel that maybe this would be the type of person you would like to start a family with.. So you do, and your partner will support you, let you quit your job and become a stay-at-home parent to care for your children. During this time you will dedicate everything you have to cherishing your child, something you never got as a child, a parent. You will give your kids everything and provide them with all the tools they could ever need in life, in spite of your terrible upbringing. Helping them with homework, reading them stories, toddler playdates. You name it, if they want it, you give it. You become an incredible parent and after thinking you wasn't worth anything, you feel you have found your true calling.

To get started:

Move into a small empty plot in any town as a teenager with $0.

Add the simple living lot trait.

Have the kleptomaniac and hot-headed traits.

Have the Public Enemy Aspiration.

Traits: Teen/Young Adult: Kleptomaniac, Hot-Headed and Evil // Adult: Hot-Headed, Family Oriented and Romantic.

Aspirations: Teenager: Public Enemy // Adult: Super Parent

Skills: Mischief, Fitness, Handiness and Logic // Parenting and Wellness

Career: Criminal // Stay-At-Home Parent

Goals: As a teenager -

Earn money dumpster diving and stealing from people.

Create a shack using the items and furniture you collect from dumpster diving.

Don't go to school.

As a young adult -

Get to level 8 "Safe Cracker" of the criminal career (Boss Branch).

Reach level 8 mischief skill.

Reach level 5 fitness skill.

Reach level 4 handiness skill.

Reach level 3 logic skill.

Sell drugs using Basemental Drugs mod.

Complete the Public Enemy Aspiration.

As an adult/elder -

Meet family-oriented partner.

Use re-traiting potion and swap to Hot-Headed, Family Oriented and Romantic traits.

Change your aspiration to Super Parent.

Quit your job and become stay at home parent.

Have children.

Move into/or build a family home.

Max the parenting skill.

Reach level 8 wellness skill.

Complete level 3 of Super Parent Aspiration (Character Coach Level).

Take your toddlers and children to the park every 4 sim days.

Help complete every school project your children get.

Have all teenagers finish school with A grades and at least 1 positive character value each.

Generation 2 - E-Sports Geek makes a life changing decision

Story: You grew up a very happy child, your parents loved you and supported you with everything wanted to do. However, you were always a little different to your sibling/siblings, you were the shy and reserved one, you would much rather have spent time reading or doing your homework, than outside and never really had many friends growing up. But when you were a toddler, your parents introduced you to one of your next door neighbours' toddler and you fell in love, well as much as you can do at 3 years old... You continued to spend your childhood growing up with your best friend, keeping your crush on them a secret. You spent a lot of time gaming at home with your crush, who was very much like you, a little nerdy. Your mum/dad had lived a rough life and always warned you of the dangers going on outside when they were a criminal, so you chose to spend your free time, safe at home. However, they would still drag you to the park sometimes to try to encourage you to be 'normal'. Some might call you a little paranoid, but you would rather be paranoid and safe at home, than up to mischief like the rest of your siblings. You found this put a slight bump in your relationship with your parents though, as they were much more outgoing and thought you were a little strange to want to spend all your time inside. When you become a teenager, you finally open up to your crush about your feelings, well great thing is, they feel the same way back! You get your first girlfriend/boyfriend and end up making some friends at your local arcade, that you start up a club with. You finally come out of your shell a little and begin going to the geek convention, which you go to with your friends every time it's on in the City. When you were a little older, you set your goals on University to study Computer Science whilst also becoming an e-sports competitor, luckily your girlfriend/boyfriend is also coming to the same University as you. You go on to work as an e-sports gamer and excel at it. However, you're not very money driven and you do it for the passion. Everything was looking up in your life you get engaged to your girlfriend/boyfriend, when straight after they confess that they cheated on your with your friend. It is your choice from there, where your story goes. Will you stay with your partner and make it work? Or will you call it quits and continue your life without them?

Traits: Toddler: Inquisitive, Child/Young Adult: Socially anxious (Use the loner trait if you don't want to download the mod), geek and goofball.

Aspirations: Child: Whiz Kid, Teenager: Computer Whiz

Skills: Child: Motor & Mental, Teenager/Young Adult: Video Game, Logic & Media Production

Career: Tech Guru

Goals:

As a toddler -

Meet best friend.

As a child -

Compete Junior Scientist level of Whiz Kid aspiration.

Reach motor skill level 10 from video gaming.

Reach mental skill level 5.

Do your homework every night.

Do any school project given to you, with your parents help.

Don't have friends other than your crush.

Finish elementary school with an A.

Argue with your parents about your differences.

As a teenager -

Become girlfriend/boyfriend with your crush.

Make friends at an arcade.

Start a video gaming club and meet at the arcade, at least once per week.

Attend Geekcon every time it is on.

Finish high school with an A.

As a young adult/elder -

Go to University and study Computer Science taking 3 classes per term.

Move out of your parents house to a dorm/student housing.

Start E-Sport Competitor afterschool activity whilst studying at University.

Become a captain in the E-Sports Competitor afterschool activity before leaving University.

Get a job as E-Sports Gamer (you get this level from being an E-Sports Competitor) in the Tech Guru career.

Max the Tech Guru career.

Reach video game skill level 10.

Reach logic skill level 8.

Reach media production skill level 5.

Reach 1 Star Fame Level.

Complete Computer Whiz aspiration.

Get engaged to your childhood sweetheart.

Decide weather to stay with your partner or leave them.

Generation 3 - Woohooing your way to the top

Story: You are a very sociable and outgoing child, growing up you're basically the completely opposite of your 'nerdy' parent, you're fussy and quite arrogant but your parents try to provide everything they can for you, that isn't enough. Your parents spend a lot of time in game tournaments and try to get you into games. Fat chance of that, how embarrassing. After a while they give up and try bribing you with toys and presents to keep you amused, but you want more, you want everything. This leads for you to have a bad relationship with your parents. When you're a child, the kid you met in school invites you round. Their parents are famous celebrities and you turn up to their mansion, shocked. This is it, this is what you want. From there you do everything you can to attain this. You're ambitious and driven from a young age, so you do well in school but you get into some trouble thinking you're above the teachers. "Who would want to look after kids when you could pay someone to do that anyway?" You're super popular in school though and you spend a large majority of your teenage life partying, you learnt your way around love very early and realised it's incredibly easy to get what you want, when you are in someone's bed... But you eventually finish school and start the Business career, it's your first day. This is it; you will be fabulously wealthy and everyone will know your name. You start your first day and realise, you're the runt, you're nothing. How can you run this join? Get in the bosses bed, that's how. There are 9 bosses above you and you woohoo with everyone of them to get promoted. Until that is, just before you reach the top of your career you get pregnant with the CEO's baby! You're certainly not going to tell him and risk loosing the CEO position, a baby with the boss could ruin that. So you lie and tell him it's not his, but you keep it, who else will continue your famous dynasty when you die? You're a terrible mother and have no motherly instinct but you do love your child. You do not have time to take care of them, so you get the butler to take care of that. What will you tell your child about their father? People would describe you as quite vicious until you become an elder and your life hits you, you have nothing but your money, no one to share it with and child that hates you for not being there. But you meet the person of your dreams that accepts you for all your faults, you marry as an elder.

Traits: Toddler: Fussy, Child/Young Adult: Outgoing, Lavish (Use the high maintenance trait if you don't want to download the mod) & Materialistic.

Aspirations: Child: Social Butterfly, Teenager: Fabulously wealthy

Skills: Child: Social & Mental, Teenager/Young Adult: Charisma, Logic & Research & Debate.

Career: Business

Goals:

As a toddler -

Make at least 4 other toddler and befriend them.

Reach level 5 communication skill.

Reach level 3 mental skill.

As a child -

Compete social butterfly aspiration.

Reach level 10 social skill.

Reach level 5 mental skill.

Befriend another 4 kids.

Meet rich friend and go to their mansion.

Finish elementary school with at least a B.

As a teenager -

Date "the popular teen".

Cheat on "the popular teen" with another teen.

Attend/throw a party at least every weekend.

Finish high school with at least a B.

As a young adult/elder -

Max the business career and become a Business Tycoon (Management branch) by woohooing with your boss at each level. (Ignore level 5 that requires a degree with the career mod, I use UI cheats to get rid of this.)

Get pregnant with your boss when you're the CEO (level 9).

Only have 1 child.

Reach level at least level 2 fame level.

Have had at least 4 relationships.

Complete the fabulously wealthy aspiration.

Reach level 10 charisma skill.

Reach level 8 logic skill.

Reach level 8 research and debate skill.

Stay unengaged until you're an elder.

Marry as an elder.
