Sclera Accessory for TS2
Finally, I’m ready to present the Sclera Accessory!
What’s the point?
This accessory helps solve a long-standing issue:
In TS2, when the sclera was painted directly onto the eye texture or used as a makeup overlay, it moved along with the iris, which looked unnatural. Players had to choose between a more realistic texture and better animation compatibility.
Now you can use eye textures with just a plain or gradient white sclera, while the lacrimal caruncle and eyelash shadow are placed on the accessory texture instead.
Thus, when the eye moves, the sclera remains in place.
How it looks in motion
Close-up:
Here’s how my Sims look with and without the sclera accessory:
Details
The mesh is a separated and slightly edited part of the face mesh, which allows it to work perfectly with facial animations.
I also edited the UV map to make texturing easier.
The sclera works with any eye shape and is available for all ages and genders, including infants.
The PU-EU and BU meshes are separate files so you can easily relink your recolors for all ages.
Recolors
I made 4 recolors. I wanted the texture to be something between hyper-realistic and maxis match — something in the middle. I know many of you are talented and will create even more amazing textures in different styles. Here's the PSD.
Known issues
First, I had to change the material type to StandardMaterial to make the texture’s opacity look better. Since this material type isn’t native to CAS items, it may cause transparency issues when meshes with alpha textures intersect.
Second, blue flashing fix: I didn't use a placeholder. Instead, I removed all references to the “lens” group in the mesh and texture files. I didn’t get blue flashing in testing, but if it happens, let me know and I’ll upload a fixed version.

Moonlite Eyes - hand drawn eyes on Rensim's sclera
Drawing eyes is surprisingly therapeutic, so here's another set. I used various people's color actions alongside the colors I used for the previous set of eyes. The picture with all of the colors shows their genetic values, 1 being dominant and 2 being recessive. My logic was "lighter colors = recessive, darker colors = dominant".
Alongside defaults, the set comes with custom colors in 3 versions - Custom Only, Geneticized, and Geneticized & Townified. You can only have one version in your game at a time.

Electric Eyes - hand drawn eyes on Rensim's sclera
It's been a long while since I've made literally anything but, for once, I was in a cc creating mood, so I decided to draw some eyes - mostly because there's very few sets of eyes out there that I really like and I wanted to see if I could make my own. This is the end result and I liked them enough to share.
They come in defaults and 9 custom colors. The custom colors come in Custom Only, Geneticized, or Geneticized & Townified versions. They use the same packages, so you can only have one version in your game.

Discord was the worst thing to ever happen to modding, like yes pls put all of those helpful tutorials and tips on a platform that is impossible to search for and definitely isn't known to randomly implode due to petty infighting. Great Idea.
#|| reblog#this makes being in the sims community fucking insufferable btw#this is why i don't want us to go to DISCORD!!!!!!! if tumblr fucking explodes#think for three seconds why that's a fucking Miserably BAD IDEA.

SFS Hack
For the sake of keeping this a bit shorter I've decided to create this post and link to the original, much reblogged post about this matter. its contains a lot of info thats definitely worth a read(!) but for now: Factsheet:
SFS uploads are currently NOT possible (see above).
CC (custom content) files ALWAYS end with .package.
Script mods files ALWAYS end in .ts4script
On Windows: if a CC folder on SFS or downloaded zip file contains a .exe do not run it! immediately remove it and empty your trashcan/bin.
On Mac: If a CC folder on SFS or downloaded ZIP file contains a .dmg do not open it and drag it into your App folder! Immediately remove it and empty your bin.
For creators: change your password if you have a SFS account, always use a randomly long(!) generated password (LastPass, Password (Apple)!
My own downloads are also stored on Dropbox.
I only use SFS as a 2nd link for all my downloads so if you download then use the Dropbox links for now. if you do use SFS then pay attention to the following:
If any zip or package file from me has been updated in march/April 2025 (at SFS):
Do not DOWNLOAD the file/zip from SFS and please let me know!!! ( I still have to check ALL folders manually for this...)
#for sims 2 players: lots and sims for the sims 2 will also always end in .sims2pack and never .exe#|| reblog

I have checked my files, they appear to be fine. still, I would not recommend downloading from sfs right now regardless.
Please let me know if any files of mine have been compromised. The way to tell is checking the update date. I haven't uploaded anything in a long while and have been logged out of sfs for god knows how long rn. I know I'm not a large creator but I'd rather not put anyone's computers at risk in any way.

Compromised Accounts on SFS
At least two creator accounts on SimFileShare are compromised (SimAndy, TheNinthWaveSim). Downloads may include executable .bat and .exe files (which obviously CC should not!!). For now, consider not downloading from SFS.

How To Dreamwidth: A Primer
the more friends ask me about dreamwidth, the more i realize i know a lot about this site that isn’t super obvious at first glance. so here is a primer for those of you thinking about making a dreamwidth account. this post ranges from your really basic starter tips to the completely esoteric things that come from using it for a decade.
2023 note: This post was written in 2018. While most of this post is still true, various features may have been changed or updated in the years since.
a what now? dreamwho?
Dreamwidth is a code fork of LiveJournal. A code fork means that they took LJ’s code (which used to be open source) and went their own direction with it. They still use the basic ideas behind LJ’s codebase, but have changed and improved upon it in various ways.
The core difference between DW and other websites is privacy isn’t an afterthought, but the central feature. You can lock posts, filter them to a select group, or make them visible to only you. I recommend reading through this section of DW’s FAQ for more on this.
When you make an account, you can subscribe (ie follow) and grant access to other users. Both of these are one-way – if A subscribes to B, that doesn’t automatically grant B access to all of A’s locked posts. Here’s more on this.
DW in general can be kind of confusing for people who have only used tumblr, but their FAQs are pretty good on the whole, and they’re searchable. If a website feature is confusing, start there.
okay, i have a journal. now what?
Customize it! DW doesn’t have all the latest and greatest features, but you can still make it your own. Here are some useful tips.
You can change your layout from Organize > Select Style. Mobile support is hit or miss, unfortunately, but there are some nice default layouts that work with it. You can also use this style for Practicality which makes DW fully mobile-friendly. If you’d rather design it yourself, Tabula Rasa is completely stripped down.
You can get premade DW layouts at the dreamwidthlayouts community. If you have trouble with your code, ask over at style_system.
Edit your profile! This is where you put your usernames for other social media sites, tell people a bit about yourself, and mention your interests. Your interests will be part of the interest search; it’s one way to find people.
Upload icons! Free accounts get 15 icons; paid accounts get 100 icons, premium accounts get 250 icons. You can use one icon in each entry and commment you make. It’s good form to put the maker of the icon in the comment section if you didn’t make it. If you got it from someone on tumblr, you can even link their blog using the code <user name=username site=tumblr>. (This works all across DW!)
While you can’t make pages, you can set a post to stick at the top of your journal, much like Twitter’s pinned tweets. Here’s how to do it.
You can also change how Dreamwidth itself looks, if you don’t like the red. Go to Account Settings > Display. Most other site display preferences are on that page.
While you’re here, look through the Account Settings > Privacy page. By default, your public entries will be included in site searches. You can turn it off at the bottom of the page if you want. You can also set it so your entries are automatically access-locked or private as well.
This got very long so the rest is behind the cut. (Now you really know I’m legit.)
