Not So Not So Berry Challenge

AKA Not So Berry Challenge 2

General Info:

If you play this challenge it’d be great to hear some feedback on what’s good and what’s not, especially as this is my first (and probably only) time making a challenge.

I’ve heard that the freelancer career often doesn’t work. If this is the case for you, feel free to simply ignore that part of the black generation. Or any other stuff that don’t work right.

Packs that can be realistically replaced are in italics.

Rules:

1. Same basic rules as the original NSB.

2. You can do mild cheats if you want to, just don’t cheat the actual challenges like careers, collections, relationships, ect.

3. If you fail to complete minor parts of the generation (only make food with ingredients you have, living near water, ect), you don’t have to end the challenge. As long as you do the main stuff of the generation (careers, collections, aspirations), you’re a-OK!

I’ve been working on this for a very long time, so let me just welcome you to my challenge. While playing some old challenges like Not So Berry and the 100 Baby Challenge, I realized that I have some ideas for a challenge myself. That's how I came to create The Chromatic Legacy Challenge, and I’m excited to share it with everyone! This is a VERY colorful challenge that's updated to May of 2021. This challenge is designed to get the very best out of the Sims 4, and I hope you like it! There are 15 beautiful generations with certain requirements to complete their generation! See how long it takes you to complete all the generations. When looking at the rules, if there are asterix's next to a requirement, scroll to the bottom for more information! These generations require most of the sims 4 packs, so be prepared! Tag me at or @starrynightsimblr to share your beautiful creations with me! Thanks so much for playing, hope you have fun!

RULES FOR ALL GENERATIONS

-Like other colorful challenges, it is required that the hair, makeup, clothes, and house of your heirs ARE the color of the generation (which is listed in the rules of each generation) but skin tone can be a natural color

-Money cheats are not allowed! Promotion or skill cheats are also not allowed.

-The only kinds of cheats that are allowed are cheats that influence a babies gender/number and (if you wish) or need cheats.

-Script Mods are suggested, like MCCC, Slice of Life, and Wonderful Whims. To make it easier for the color part of the challenge, Custom Content is also suggested to make your gameplay more *bright and sparkly*

-Its suggested that no one else in the gamesave other than your chromatic family are color based. The idea if the challenge is there is this one crazy family that is color based and no one else is. In addition, spouses should not be based on colors because of this.

-You have to complete the requirements for all 15 generations to officially complete this challenge. Tag me on instagram @elyseeriksen with a picture of all of your generations in cas, and another picture of all your generations in CAS. GENERATION ONE: bubblegum 🌺

You grew up in a poor home with your parents, searching your couch cushions for money. After your parents die, you have nowhere left to go but a small lot next to your old family home. Your parent’s old home where you learned to train and take care of animals was bulldozed in a unexpected event, and now all you can hope is that you can build a veterinary clinic on top of the foundation of the remains of your childhood home.

- Vegetarian, gloomy and the dog or cat lover trait

- Must complete the friend of all animals aspiration

- Starts life in an empty lot without any more than 20,000 pounds.

- Max out the pet training and veterinary skills

- Run your own veterinary clinic. Build your house inside the clinic. Get it to 4 plus stars

GENERATION TWO: lemonade🍋

You grew up with a loving family, and never had any reason to doubt yourself. You respect your family's vet business but strive for something else. You've always been good at using technology and getting along with others. You are so excited for your future and can’t wait to become a parent. Your parents lend you some money and off you go to start a new life in the city- but things didn’t exactly go as planned. Your apartment is smaller than it looked on the House website, and your hopes are skyrocketing down. When you’re about ready to give up, you get an opportunity to be a secret agent for a company you only heard about in movies.

-must complete the computer whiz and super parent aspirations. Part of the computer whiz aspiration is getting to level 3 of the tech guru career. You must cheat this as part of the challenge, as this sim is not in the tech guru career

-start in a one bedroom apartment and move once you are promoted to Lead Detective

GENERATION THREE: cherry🍒

You can't remember a time in your life without someone by your side. Ever since you were a child, you knew that forever you and your best friend would stick together for your whole lifetime. You are an aspiring actor, and a wonderful comedian - and your best friend… is not. You set off to Del Sol Valley the moment you turn 21 to pursue an acting career, leaving your friends and family behind.

-must complete the master actor and joke star aspirations. Part of the joke star aspiration is getting to level 3 of the entertainer career. You must cheat this as part of the challenge, as this sim is not in the entertainer career

-Be best friends with someone during childhood and teenhood. Grow apart during your young adulthood, and marry them in your adulthood

-Never date until you start dating your childhood best friend during your adulthood

-Move to Del Sol Valley when you age up into a young adult

-max out the acting and comedy skills

-Win a starlight accolade award

-reach level 10 of the acting career

-Become a world famous celebrity and place your celebrity tile down

GENERATION FOUR: periwinkle 🟣

You have always been proud of your parent, a successful actor who taught you to be the best you that you can be. Ever since you were a child, you've been playing all the instruments and making music. You struggle with love, and you just want to meet your special someone. Playing music for money outside of your apartment, you start your path to becoming a famous musician.

-Complete the Musical Genius and Soulmate aspirations

-Max three of the following skills: singing, dance, guitar, violin, piano, or DJ mixing.

-Reach level 10 of the social media career

-Get signed by a record label, win an award for your music, or place down a celebrity tile next to your parent's.

GENERATION FIVE: rose gold💝

Unlike the rest of your family, who all aspire to be in the spotlight, you are unsure of what you want to do with your life. Being a barista and milking cows is the only thing you can think to do to support yourself. You always had a knack for the creative arts and seem to get along really well with llamas and bunnies, but never knew how to put that into a job. Finally, after long days of research, you decide to open your own retail store to sell your works- with a farm to support you at home.

-Max out either the knitting or handiness skill and the cross-stitching skill

Instead of becoming a detective or police officer, you decide to become a lawyer to defend the innocent, and you also write books on your achievements.

When you become a young adult, you go and move to a new place where you are all on your own. You love gardening, but your passion for robotics gets you into the engineer career.

You spend lots of your time playing soccer with your parents (even though it isn't their strong suit) and dreaming of one day climbing mount komorebi with all of your friends by your side. Luckily, your parents want to help you in any way you can, sending you out with hopes and prayers for a safe journey up the mountain.

Rock Climbing? Check. Karaoke? Check. Swimming? Check. Your parents prepared you for everything by reading you stories every night of what you can be. Everything sounds so interesting, from meeting mermaids to spying on your noisy apartment neighbors. When you were a kid, you couldn't wait to grow up! You can't wait to try and cook all sorts of foods and drinks, and throw all sorts of crazy parties. Now that you're an adult, there is so much to see and do… and you're going to do it all!

You make the decision to start an organization to help Sulani flourish once again.

Every second of your life you were thinking about how beautiful everything you saw would look if you had created it by hand.

You want to be a gamer… or maybe a youtuber? Or maybe you should have settled for making grilled cheese in your parents’ basement. You want people to smile at your name, but you can’t see anyone liking you with your quiet, introverted personality. Your sibling(s) want to help you, and soon you find yourself behind the camera, starting to record your first ever video.

You like taking pictures of your world, inspired by your grandparent’s artistic talent. You don’t spend very much time with your parents, but you don’t really mind, because you enjoy spending time with your friends. You're a photographer and mischievous partier at night, but you try to keep your persona clean as you head into your job as a business person.

GENERATION FOURTEEN: turquoise💎

Your family was a tight knit family full of fun and games, but whenever you try mentioning your grandparents, you get shut down. You never met your grandparents, and you can tell that your parents don’t like them, but you still are fascinated by their fame. You, yourself, want to have a big family while also juggling school and your dreams to become a famous criminal. When you become a teenager, you can’t shake the urge to meet your grandparents. You show up at the door of your grandparents’ doorstep looking for help following your dreams. But things don’t go as planned, and soon you have to be a young parent, too. Left with no other choice, you take up a career in critiquing work to support your small family. You fall in love with your child at first glance and you want the best for them, but you can never stop thinking about your hopes and dreams of being a deviant criminal.

Your family easily provides you with science sets and miniature explosives that they directly told you NOT to blow up your siblings with, and you're ready to go to space and meet some aliens. You also love to bake, because you love to eat (a little too much), and you also have a dream to have THE nicest house in the universe.

Not So Berry Extended

I finished the Not So Berry Challenge but wanted to continue for a few more generations because I adore my family. So I’ve written up my own version of things I want to do and accomplish per generation. Now this is a small extension most likely 3 generations that will be updated as I play. Rules may be subject to change whether that be adding or removing things, bc I am playtesting all of this currently.

Generation 11: White

From a young age you grew a fascination with acting, the idea of being able to step away from reality and take on a role of someone else excited you. So with the supportive parents you had, they enrolled you in drama club for the entirety of your school life. You begin to strive for something more, becoming a global superstar actor! With focusing so much on your career, keeping serious romantic relationships is difficult because you always prioritize work over love. You eat, breathe, sleep acting and you were happy keeping it that way. But with a one night stand gone wrong… you find out you are now left with an unplanned child.

Traits: Self-Absorbed // Music Lover // Non-Committal

Aspiration: Master Actor

Career: Actor

Goals:

enroll in drama club as a child and teen + get promoted to junior artiste (lvl.4)

Generation 12: Brown

Growing up in the shadows of your parents spotlight was a little hard on you. Although you knew how much they loved you and tried their best to spend every free moment with you, you still felt…alone. Thankfully being a part of the scouts club gave you a sense of family, which you deeply cherished. Scouts club also made you truly fall in love with the outdoors. Being out in nature didn’t make you feel like you were so alone anymore, which is why camping became something you loved to do. There were tales that in the Deep Woods of Granite Falls a hermit resides away from everyone, so naturally the curious bean you were you had to find out for yourself. Forever alone felt like a motto you started to live by and thought you’d never get married like your parent, but someone finally came along and you were really happy with the way life was heading. Unfortunately down the road things didn’t end up working out. You’ve always secretly had this crazy idea of making a robot best friend since you were a kid. The thought of having a robot who was there for you every waking moment felt like something you needed in your life, so it was time to make a crazy idea… a reality!

Generation 13: Black

Ahh books… you love em! You always enjoyed a good read that could take you on a journey in a whole new fantasy world. So naturally starting a book club at school to share your love for reading was the thing to do. Thanks to the club it brought you your best friend, who you later fall in love with and get engaged to. Instead of going off to university like everyone else you got convinced to join the military, but that didn’t last long so you quit and went off to study psychology. Whilst away at uni you discovered the Encyclopedia Vampirica, and got extremely curious about vampires to the point you took a trip over to Forgotten Hollow to find out if they were real. You end up meeting a vampire who you become completely mesmerized with and fall in love so quick as if you were put under a spell. This is where you decide to ask “could I be turned into one?” Without hesitation their teeth sink into your neck and the process of you turning has begun. You decide to drop out of university and call off the engagement because you have fallen for another and want to live out your new vampire life. Becoming a Simlish online teacher was your only option after dropping out of uni, and with working from home you had more time to yourself so you started writing your own books. Unfortunately your job started to feel mundane, so you have the bright idea of running your own business! Not being able to have children has always upset you, but with your new powers creating your own vampire family is only one step away…

don’t have kids or adopt - instead create a vampire family of sims you turn (at least 2)

(optional if you want to end the legacy) burn to death from being exposed to sunlight

The Garden: A Legacy Challenge Version 2

Hi guys, and welcome to my first ever Legacy Challenge! I spent an hour or so writing this up quickly because I was feeling creative! I hope this challenge might seem fun to some of you, fun enough to pick it up and play it! Please tag me if you’re starting it, and use the tag #garden legacy if you post pics! So, without further delay, here we go!

The Garden Legacy Challenge is a challenge carried out across 10 generations of your Sims family of choice. This introduction to the challenge can only be used as a guideline if you wish, as I’d love for you to express your creativity by using this as a template. Please, sit back, relax and enjoy playing the game! :)

Rules:

Money Cheats are NOT allowed

Aesthetic CC and poses are FINE

Needs must be on decay AT ALL TIMES

Feel free to pause ageing ONLY FOR STORY PURPOSES

Your Sims must live on the SAME LOT for the whole 10 generations. A larger lot is recommended

Any world is fine

You may edit what your Sims look like in CAS if they fugly

Information:

Your entire 10 generations will be named after various plants you could find or have in your garden. This is inspired by the fact that your Sims will have a love for nature throughout all 10 generations, living their life on the family farm. Each generation also has a berry colour in case berry simmers would like to enjoy the challenge too!

Generation 1: ROSE

Traits: Ambitious, Loves the Outdoors, Vegetarian

Aspiration: Freelance Botanist

Berry Colour: Red

Information: This is the founder of your legacy! From living their entire childhood in the smelly and loud city, they have decided to begin a new lifestyle in the countryside. They dream of running a farm to support the generations to come.

Rules:

Compete the Aspiration

Have at least 2 children

Have 1 dog and 1 cat

Collect every base game plant

Reach level 10 of the Gardening career

Care for at least 2 cowplants throughout your life

Max out the friendship level with at least one bee hive

Reach level 10 of the gardening skill

Reach at least level 5 in: cooking, parenting and handiness

Generation 2: DAISY

Traits: Outgoing, Good, Self Assured

Aspiration: Friend of the World

Berry Colour: White with Yellow accents

Information: You grew up in a loving household, making you a friendly and nurturing Sim who wants nothing else than to help others.

Rules:

Complete the Aspiration

Reach at least level 7 in the politics career. Either Branch. Cause: Speak for the Trees

Marry your first friend

Have 4 children

Reach level 10 charisma

Reach level 10 gardening

Go out at least 3 times a week with friends

Generation 3: BLUEBELL

Traits: Family Oriented, Romantic, Neat

Aspiration: Big Happy Family

Berry Colour: Blue

Information: You grew up surrounded by siblings. It was the best childhood you could have imagined. You want to bless your children with that same childhood!

Rules:

Complete the Aspiration

Reach level 10 parenting

Maintain perfect friendship levels with your siblings

Fill your household with children (you can have at least 1 pet)

Reach level 5 in 2 different jobs

Achieve the best love-days every year

Take the kids out on a day trip every Saturday

Generation 4: SUNFLOWER

Traits: Self Assured, Goofball, Childish

Aspiration: Joke Star

Berry Colour: Yellow

Information: You were always the class clown, getting in trouble all the time. You pulled endless amounts of pranks on your siblings and parents. You never want to grow up.

Rules:

Complete the Aspiration

Reach level 10 in the Entertainment Career: Comedian Branch

Reach level 10 comdey

Reach at least level 7: charisma and mischief

Run a club called the Pranksters

Use a Voodoo Doll on your spouse at least 10 times

Marry a musician

Generation 5: Magnolia

Traits: Music Lover, Loner, Clumsy

Aspiration: Musical Genius

Berry Colour: White with Baby Pink accents

Information: Your parents were born entertainers, they lived to be on the stage. you share their talents but you are very shy and reserved. However, you still dream of being a well known and respected musician.

Rules:

Complete the Aspiration

Reach level 10 in the Entertainment Career: Musician Branch

Reach level 10: piano and singing

Reach level 7: guitar and violin

Have only 1 friend outside of your family

Marry that friend

Have 2 children: Twins (you can use cheats for this)

Generation 6: PINE

Traits: Jealous, Non Committal, Gloomy

Aspiration: Renaissance Sim

Berry Colour: Green

Information: You always felt like your were second best to your twin (whether this is true or not is up to you). You often spent time burring your head in books, learning lots of different things, but never mastering them.

Complete the Aspiration

Write a Book

Paint 1 Masterpiece

Write a Song

Change jobs once you get to level 4

Have at least 3 jobs

You never retire

You never marry

You have 3 different children from one night stands

A relationship is allowed after the children are born

Never celebrate love day

Generation 7: TULIP

Traits: Lazy, Squeamish, Slob

Aspiration: Computer Whiz

Berry Colour: Grape Purple

Information: You grew up confused and conflicted about your parent’s relationship. This made you a troubled child who had to visit many therapists and doctors. You found comfort in video games and rely on the throughout your life.

Rules:

Complete the Aspiration

Reach level 10 in the Gaming Profession

Marry someone you meet at Gamescon

Naturally progress into the overweight section

Reach skill level 10: video games and programming

Have 2 children

Generation 8: PICCOLONI

Traits: Genius, Neat, Snob

Aspiration: Successful Lineage

Berry Colour: Hot Pink OR Orange

Information: After watching your parent struggle with health problems due to being overweight, you vowed to keep yourself and your own children healthy.

Rules:

Complete the Aspiration

Reach level 10 in the Doctors career

Reach level 10 in: fitness and cooking

Marry a fellow Dr

Have 3 children

Do not feed the children unhealthy food or snacks

Generation 9: SNAPDRAGON

Traits: Foodie, Athletic, Insider

Aspiration: Bodybuilder

Berry Colour: Light Pink OR Peach

Information: You grew up being pushed to your limits and you loved every second of it. You love exercise and cooking and want to make your two hobbies work well together. You enjoy using fresh food found on your families farm.

Rules:

Complete the Aspiration

Reach level 10 in the Athletic Career

Reach level 5 in the Cooking Career

Reach level 10: fitness, cooking, baking and wellness

Reach level 5: gourmet cooking

Marry another Foodie

Have triplets (once again, cheats are allowed for this)

Generation 10: HYDRANGER

Traits: Materialistic, Hot Headed, Perfectionist

Aspiration: Fabulously Wealthy

Berry Colour: Light Blue

Information: You finally decide that your family is worth more than living on a farm forever. It’s time for your legacy to move on. You want to move out into a penthouse in the city and create an exciting future for generations to come.

Rules:

Complete the Aspiration

Marry someone wealthy and living in the City

Reach level 10 in the Business Career

Reach level 10 in 3 skills of your choice

Throw a party every weekend + every holiday

The generation (and challenge!) finished once you have completed the rules to generation 10! It’s up to you if you continue by moving your Sim to San Myshuno or stop there!
