It was a late night at work and Sincere  was more than ready to head home. But she had to make a pit stop to pick up some food for her and the girls since she knew she wouldn’t be in the mood to cook. She was about to walk in when she overheard the guy speaking. “Is everything okay?” She asked him.

He never thought that this situation would happen to him. Of course it happened, but not someone so in-tuned with what he did with the things he owned. Julian must have been far tired than he thought, to leave his keys in his car like this. It was a predicament many people have gone through before, trying to get his keys out was going to prove a bit difficult. The problem for him was trying to get the door open without having to damage his car. His insurance wouldn’t appreciate him breaking windows when he didn’t need to. So, like everyone else, he pulled out his phone and called a locksmith. “Uh-huh, you can’t send someone out any sooner than that?” He said, exacerbated by how long it’d take, “Yes, yes I understand. Thank you.” He finished the call and put the phone back into his pocket. “Well, shit. What do I do now?!” He was speaking to himself, rather loudly because of his irritation.

“I don’t need to sit. I just wanted to hand you your things. They looked important.” Sincere stood up straight as she spoke. “But someone else might want to sit here.” She was about to turn and walk away but paused. “Are you applying to college?

Sincere was waiting on her coffee order when she spotted the table full of papers and the fact that some had fell on the floor. From where she was standing she could see the university logo on them so she assumed that they were important. Which was why she went to go pick them up from the floor. She was just putting them up on the table when she heard the girl’s words. “Relax hun. Some of your system was on the floor.”

There was a reason why she didn’t attend many of these events and this was going to be another one. Watching as the last of the boat sink, Archie knew they were fucked, they were all well and truly fucked and what the hell were they supposed to do now. Eyes scanned around him, people screaming, crying, some quite clearly drowning but it wasn’t like he was going to get everyone back to shore. He could make it, he was sure of it, gone were his shoes and his jacket, and if he was quick enough he could get back, but how many people would be leaving behind. Turning in the water, keeping his arms as steady as he could careful not to exhaust himself to soon, Archie looked at the other. “Do you think you can swim back?”

Despite everything that was happening Sincere had managed to stay calm. Of course she was worried about the other people that were on the boat and she hoped that everyone would be able to make it back to land. She had never been more lucky than now that he stepmother made her take swimming lessons. Taking her heels off she held on to them as she found herself jumping into the freezing cold water. Once she put enough distance between her and the ship she watched as it sunk and hoped that there was no one still on it. Sincere then turned away suddenly realizing that she could hear the people that were panicking. Sighing softly she looked at the person nearest her when he spoke. “Yea, Can you?”

Even though she didn’t know any of them personally it still sickened her. She shook her head and noticed that someone was throwing up on the side of the ship. Turning her concern to that person she walked over but paused in speaking when she heard his words. “I was coming to see if you needed anything?” She tried to keep her tone understanding despite the rudeness from him.

this night was turning out to be a lot more of a crazy ordeal than he could have ever seen coming, which might have been pretty stupid of him. also an incredible feat considering what a pessimist he actually was. with the added factors of both josie and lev being hung up like puppets and the chaos breaking free all around them, fergus was barely keeping it together. now he was out on the deck, having already expelled half of his stomach into the sea. whether it was from what he had witnessed or motion sickness, he had no idea. he was just thankful he hadn’t eaten anything tonight. his head was on his arms as he rested them on the railings, wincing when footsteps approached behind him. he wasn’t sure he could fight anyone off right now. “can you not find someone else to bother?”

Sincere was lucky that the kids were with their father for the week. So when she had gotten the invite she had decided to go, even if she was a bit weary about the event. And she wasn't even surprised by all the people that were there. When the girl bumped into her she didn't take any offense to it, she did stumbled a bit but she had managed to grasp the railing to avoid falling over. “You’re fine. And the dress is fine. Not a drop spilled on it.” Sincere gave the girl a genuine smile

Asli roamed about the deck as dinner started to kick off. She had every intention of not going to this thing. But when she had reserved the ominous invitation. Asli assumed not showing up wasn’t an option – it never was with these things. It also meant that they would get Aurora back, the sooner the better. It was hard enough ducking and dodging Richie, Isaak and the rest for check ins. Aurora coming back meant that she was one step closer– to what?  She didn’t know but here she was armed and ready. Opting out of a dress; going with a white- backless jumper and white jacket. The bruising to her face and back had gone down considerably. The jacket was more so to hide her knifes she had on her. The breeze from the lake providing just enough chill to have her shove her free hand into her jacket. When the boat rocked suddenly, throwing her stride off and caused her to careen into the body next to her.  Her glass of liquor falling to the ground and scattering across the wooden deck.

“Shit,” she muttered. Slightly shaking her foot to get some of the liquid off her shoes. “ Sorry, fuck I fucking hate boats.” she muttered looking towards the other person.

Life Story

Sincere was the product of an affair. Her mother was married to another man and her father. Despite that fact that he was involved in her life as much as he could be she didn’t know who he really was until she was in high school. Sincere was born and raised in New York and for the first few years she didn’t realize the kind of house hold that she was living in. It wasn’t until she was five or six when she realized how toxic things were. At this point she had a younger sister and notice how the man that she thought was her father treated them differently. Sincere was always made to feel like an outsider within the family. The second thing that she noticed was how he treated her mother. Verbal abuse soon turned into physical. Sincere was thirteen when her mother took her and her sister to stay at a co-worker’s house. Sincere had assumed that her mother was looking for a way out but soon found out that she was wrong. Less than a year later they had moved back with her father. By the time she was fifteen she was burying her mother and her father was locked up. Both her and her sister were suppose to be staying with their aunt but after finding her birth certificate she decided to move in with her biological father. She was lucky that him and his wife was okay with that. While her sister chose to stay with their aunt Sincere moved to Chicago to get to know her family there. While living in Chicago was different to her she was able to quickly fit in and the change turned out to be good for her. She quickly found out that she didn’t have to worry about being treated differently then her younger siblings nor did her step mother have any ill-will towards her.

She transferred to her new school during the middle of the year and used that time to get accustomed to her new environment. She found out more about herself during this time and realized that she enjoyed debating with others. It was after she convinced her father to let her go away for Spring Break that he jokingly suggested she should become a lawyer. It was a statement that stayed with her as she went to college. Deciding to study law she went through the process until she passed the BAR exam. She  worked for Main Street Law for a few years before leaving them and deciding to start her own firm. Loaning money from her father she started a firm with a few other friends that catered to victims of domestic violence as well as juvenile cases. The business took off and branched off into also giving counsel and helping with resources.

When offered Sincere took the opportunity to become a judge. She took it as another way to help but was a bit sad to be leaving her firm. 

She has two daughters from when she was married. She’s now divorced and has shared custody.
