i know it's be the change you want to see and all but... sometimes i want to bring in "older" characters to a directory but i get soo discouraged when i see the reservations list filled with 00-05 faceclaims... there is only so many variations of older sibling dynamic you can do before it gets boring :( // we’re on the same page, opie. most especially on oc/au rps.

I have a genuine question that I hope positive discourse can come from. I wish to learn from others and I want to voice a concern I have. Why do so many rps say that they only accept idols from the Asian entertainment industry? Why doesn't it go further to other industries? // bc it's krp - KOREAN roleplay. there are plenty of international or western rps out there, they're just not in the krp tag. and they have their own tea blogs XD also, when the majority of your muses are korean and the rp is set in korea, unless your western muse speaks korean.....how are they gonna interact? i understand we're suspending some disbelief here, but that's still quite a stretch, considering. unless it's an oc rp, then sure, and i've seen many oc krps allow western muses. but what you're looking for is not krp.

Does anyone remember that btob member that got blanket blacklisted from literally everywhere a few years back 😭 I wrote ateez when he was incessantly chasing them and rmr dropping my muses entirely because he made me (and everyone else around him) so uncomfortable before he was finally banned entirely. I wonder if they're still around and just never allowed in. / i remember that person vividly for making my muse and me as the mun so highly uncomfortable. i found them in multiple rps, whether as a btob member or ateez and they would constantly call me out in front of everyone for not liking them for making me uncomfortable. if im not mistaken i first came across them at wanderlust when i mused a skz member. genuinely terrified of them both ooc and ic

Why do so many rps say that they only accept idols from the Asian entertainment industry? // i agree with your entire post! it's so refreshing to be able to see some new fcs in places, and the short time when it was a trend for admins to accept all kinds of fcs was so fun and gave a nice change of pace. it's honestly saddening that some of the newer rps are limiting things even more with specifically EAST ASIAN fcs at that (like maribloom/meadow and fracture). when the korean industry is becoming more global, why is the krp community going backwards?

literate rps are dying and will soon be non-existent because everyone's brains have rotted that they can only enjoy group chats, social media shit and hyperbeams. // fwiw, literate rp is declining across genres and platforms. and that’s like… all types of writing that isn’t just short social media interactions. western rp has been complaining about this for some time now, there’s even a viral tumblr post talking about how kids aren’t rping online anymore but rather going to ai bots if they want to write.

most adults don’t have the time or desire to rp anymore, and there aren’t new young people coming to fill the void they left. gen krp is popular mostly amongst underaged muns and that’s where they focus almost entirely on short, quick, easy social media interactions and not legit writing. literate rp isn’t getting many new recruits because most of them require muns be at least 21+, and it’s hard to hide being significantly younger when you’re writing long paras that show your skills and crafting ocs.

so definitely social media (tiktok) has influenced people’s tolerance for committing to long term stories, building their writing skills, and not just chasing dopamine a hit by joining each new shiny rp while not fleshing out their characters or doing anything more than sit around and play pretend for a month.

how do you put a boundary up with a partner that talks too much about their personal life to the point it’s detracting from rp? // make it about you and be gentle. if it were me (and it has been me!) i'd say something like "hey [PARTNER], i'm going through a hard time irl and i really just want to focus on our writing together instead of chit chatting and venting ooc about things unrelated to our plots. i do love getting to know you, and i know i can talk to you about stuff when i need it! i appreciate that about you. but do you mind if we focus on our characters? i want to maximize the time we have to rp so i can disconnect from my own stuff i have going on." obviously this would be tailored more towards my rp partner, but that's what i would start with

WHY???? gtfo of here if youre going to pull that shit. im starting to believe you all saying gen krp is going downhill. who thinks thats ok????? // lmfao they usually do this so they can send you a private post to talk ooc about plots. you can't send someone a private post if you've never chatted with them before so you have to send them either an actual message or a "blank" one (usually an emoji or a ! or something) and for the last week or so, with all the issues mewe's been having, some private posts have been getting eaten. you might want to check in with them or send a private post yourself to be like "hey, did you mean to send that or did you want to talk ooc about plots?"

In 575 it’s the admins who are the biggest and worst clique, they ignore everyone outside of their circle and do absolutely nothing when complaints come about their friends. They also reveal your other muses to their friends. Last but not least, they will do everything in their power to kick you if they want your fc for themselves.

i'll message people who've responded to my plot call and they will just never respond - or people will not take the literal five seconds to read the plot call hashtag at the very top of the post and just auto-emoji all options /// are you me because ngl same 💀 the amount of times i dm'ed someone who reacted with a nice paragraph about various plots and ideas only to be met with...nothing. but i see them on tl and being active all the time with other plots after my call was sent and reacted to and i'm like um ok! like i have half the mind to just ignore your reacts in the future but that might be too mean lol
