In My Father’s House An assemblage work for a visual studies class made (mostly) from repurposed wood that tackles the complexities of familial relations - on how it affects the formation and structure of a person’s identity.

Ang Pagdadalaga (Maidenhood) Stigmata are bodily marks that corresponds to the wounds of the crucified Christ. The phenomenon is often experienced by saints, which made me reflect that the moment I had my period I thought it would make me a saint as well. The piece narrates the complexities of Catholic girlhood - wherein the body felt both trauma and healing as I grew up in a religious school and household. It also sheds light of the experiences of women who struggle for liberation and autonomy while their bodies are policed, confined, and violated in a patriarchal and conservative society.

Debrief

Finished Disco Elysium recently and I’m positive it will stay in my mind for a while. Died by sitting in an uncomfortable chair. 10/10 best game ever.
