I think people need to realize that Danganronpa Despair Time is not a game but an animated series that simply looks like Danganronpa.

The focus never was on the mysteries, it was on the character drama. It's why it seemed like the mystery part leading to Ace being the culprit felt ""rushed"", it's something that Teruko herself admits. This isn't about solving the trial perfectly, it's a majority vote and the most suspicious will be on the choping block.

The "pointless focus on the secrets" lead to us learning important stuff about members of the cast, the class trial being the only place where really everyone is forced to be stuck together and listen to one another.

This is something you have to realize while watching DRDT
