Just a short post here. In the past I have defended 13 reasons why, not seeing any of the toxicity in it. That was until season three. Giving a redemption arch to a serial rapist and turning him into the victim is unforgivable. I retract my former statements, this show is garbage.

One of those fandom things that I love is when there’s new characters around and, with the unwavering confidence of an old farmer appraising cattle, fanfic authors take one good look at them, tilt their imaginary hat, and go “Aye. Praise kink, that one. Mighty case of praise kink if I ever saw one.” And everyone else just “aye.”

As someone who is professionally diagnosed I agree. Getting my dx was an incredibly difficult process, took a little over a year. Most places wouldn’t even see me because of my age(I was 16, not even an adult but in the autism world you are pretty much considered ancient once you hit puberty). I can understand why many wouldn’t want to go through that or have the resources and patience to.

After seeing a disgusting (and very racist) post where some asshole was mocking a possible survivor of FGM for not having a clitoris, I have decided to signal boost Clitoraid.

Clitoraid is an organization that funds surgery to reconstruct the clitorises or FGM survivors. If you live in the U.S., you only pay for anesthesia and the OR but not for the surgery itself or the associated exams. The whole thing is roughly $5,000. Essentially, the clitoris is a large organ, and FGM generally only removes the part that protrudes out from the body. The surgery removes scar tissue/any fucked up stitchy crap they did and then pulls some of the remaining clitoral tissue up and out so that you have an organ that can feel pleasure again. Not a lot of people seem to know about this. Clitoraid’s site lists doctors around the world, so let anyone you know who might benefit from this information know that this freaking exists.
