2. Singing 13.10.21
SEASONS OF LOVE from ____ WWW: We started singing a new song called ’Seasons of Love’. We sang it together as a class where we were split into two groups: altos and sopranos. I was soprano and each of us were given different parts to sing, either in our groups, duets or solos. I had a part where one of the women had to sing a really high note with [improvisation ____?]. We explored different songs to sing and thought about what we could do in them. EBI: Although I’m a soprano, I wasn’t able to hit the high notes like I used to be able to do in the past. On top of that, with the [imprvaistion] part, I need to really practise my vocals to be able to those techniques. I haven’t sung for a long time so my vocal box isn’t what it used to be but hopefully through a lot of practise and rehearsals (where I’ll be able to show my full ability in signing) I‘ll be able to sing like before. :) (fingers crosses)

1. Singing - Tanya Edwards 22.9.21
FIRE WITHIN ME from the Broadway Musical 'Little Women'
WWW: I was really nervous for today as I wanted to show my full vocal ability. I decided to sing 'Fire Within Me' from the Broadway musical Little Women. I had originally sung this song in my previous school when we did this production and I played the main character, Jo March. Before I used to train my vocals every day and they were really strong so I was able to sing a lot better and higher since I was doing my school production but after that, I stopped and they became weaker. When I sang my song, I had to use a backing track that was a few key's lower so that I could sing it. After singing it, Tanya said that I had good vocals that suited for West End and that my choice in school was really good for auditions. She also mentioned that I was able to sing the song with emotions. EBI: I was told I should improve on my breathing techniques, sustaining control and although I was able to sing with emotions I had to work on showing it clearer to the audience. I also need to work on strengthening my vocals and being able to sing higher notes.
