          pierce doesn’t bother to turn around as he watches the world pass by outside of his office’s window. for the first couple of hundred years, this was fascinating to him. to see how the world advances and to be a part of it but then that got old and he constantly had to move - the novelty of living an immortal life while those you care about live a limited human life wore off. it leaves a person empty and marcus wants it to end. maybe that’s why the angel of death is here. one could hope. ❝ is there a reason you’re darkening my doorway? ❞
