Two weekends ago, I turned thirty-five. I managed to style, direct, and photographed myself as part of my birthday. I had a tough time because I did it alone. I had trouble changing into this gown on the side of the road (park ranger told me I couldn’t change on site) because I needed help with my zipper. I didn’t want to wear it because it sheds sooooo much glitter. I managed to change into the dress, went back on site and hiked for a good spot. I carried my camera, my tripod, and my props all while wearing this gown that was long. The winds weren’t helping either. My hair was flying everywhere. Luckily, I brought my beanie and went back to the car after climbing up 🤦🏽‍♀️. After setting up the tripod and the camera, I used my phone to remotely shoot with timers. It was hard to focus because there was so much movement from the winds blowing my dress and my hair. It took me about two hours to shoot all while people were starring and hiking through this trail. I literally had to wait for it to be cleared lol. This isn’t the full story. It’s just a rundown. Anyway, that’s my birthday story.
