i'm just so excited to see what happens after thursday like if we're just celebrating the albums then that's great!! (but like over a month after the masters announcement and the streaming times so far seemingly counting up? i am sus!!) if it's merch then fantastic!! an announcement for ts12 i'm ready!! doc announcement give it to me!! like it's just so fun rn because i can feeeeel ts12 coming and if this is just like a hey guys time to wake up and clock back in and be alert and ready then well i am very sat, seated and happily waiting!! (also your lunch looked so yum i'm jealous!!!)

and here is what I meant the other night when I said Travis is apathetic about politics. He will go on bussin with the boys and have known abuser Brad Pitt on his podcast bc he just doesn’t care that much about being politically correct or how politics effects others. If it doesn’t directly touch him, he doesn’t really let it bother him. To mixed results I think.

respectfully, political incorrectness is not political apathy. this is an online way of thinking, and i mean this gently. going on bussing with the boys (which by the way, tommy vietor has done, and he’s as liberal as they come) is not a statement of one’s politics, and neither is interviewing brad pitt, who afaik is a liberal (albeit a shitty person).

more people should be going on bussing with the boys or theo von or other such right leaning podcasts, because otherwise, it becomes an echo chamber.

(i’m not defending the brad pitt thing. i think it’s a stupid choice, and i won’t be tuning in).

Not to be too parasocial but the more I think about it, the more I think Aaron and the other Real Indie Musicians fanboying over Taylor and acknowledging her genius and specifically the genius of her pop stuff must have been such a pivotal experience for Taylor. Like, after 'some indie record that's MUCH cooler than mine' it must have been so affirming and validating to have indie royalty think she's the coolest thing ever. (How that affected things at home, I wonder, because there's a certain strain of artsy man whose entire self-image is rooted in their supposed intellectual superiority.)

I 100% agree. She has talked about people treating her song writing as a “trick” or devaluing her music, particularly her pop music, because it’s popular and because she’s a woman whose fans are primarily women and girls. It is delicious that the album that made some people finally admit that she has talent ALSO connected her with Aaron and other musicians who were deemed “cooler” or more serious who validated her genius. I do think it is part of what helped for lack of a better way to say this, put her into a bejeweled mindset and maybe caused her to re-evaluate some of the dynamic at home or some comments he used to make.
