So many people see ADHD as some fun quirky thing. My roommate was like wow it's cool that you get to take drugs for that. On the best of great days, ADHD is quirky. On the less than average bad day, it's debilitating. People also see and mock autism like it's all running around flailing your arms and stimming. It's not. I have no sense of self identity. I can only describe myself as I would someone else. I don't have future plans, or a dream job. My only goal is to get my degree and get out without harming myself. And so far that is taking so much constant effort that I can't think farther ahead.

Nobody asks for an identity crisis. It's always dropped on you at the most inconvenient time, seemingly by divine intervention. You look back on your life, on those times you thought that lesbians were the coolest people in the world and wished you could channel that energy, wearing skirts while playing dress up with your sister, wondering what it would be like to have boobs, and then one day something triggers your awakening and you wonder how you didn't see this coming. One day you're scrolling Tumblr for the first time, see an image of two furry lesbians that sends a bolt of pure estrogen through your heart., and for a moment, you feel a pair of breasts hanging from your shoulders. And then it's gone, and all you're left with is this sinking feeling of "oh. OH. OH SHIT, I HAVE TO DEAL WITH THIS NOW." I've never panicked over identity before, never had my heart race, never questioned myself as a man, and now the way I look at my body is forever changed. And there's nothing I can do about it.
To the conservatives saying I'm making this up, to the TERFs saying I'm pretending, to all those who think this shit is a choice, I have this to say: I wish it was. Life would be so much simpler.
Oh, and by the way, this image by @rednroge was the straw that broke the back of the camel holding up my masculinity. Go follow them. They make great art.

Stay safe out there. Have a good night now.

a girl and her dragon

Hatchling dragons are already as intelligent as adults and have magical talent far surpassing human mages, but are emotionally immature.
