A commission for Shei Kaneki of Famfrit (Goblet ward 14 plot 46). She wanted pastels and light colors, so I went for a shabby chic aesthetic with some contemporary tones. The first floor has a massive skylight, a built-in bench for dining, and a quirky kitchen with retro-coloring fridge. The downstairs has the master bedroom and bathroom, and I made a very long corridor leading to the room. It’s a simple bedroom, with a window seat and large divider between the bedroom and bathroom, while keeping it open concept.

Pressure from Capital Hill, stress about the Expo, PTSD from Obadiah and Afghanistan and a blood toxicity monitor reading 19% has Tony’s anxiety tipping over into a nervous breakdown, and one day he runs away from it all and tries to get lost, hoping to find some peace.

Tony and James meet as strangers but with Tony crossing things off his bucket list and James having nothing to lose, what starts as an offer to fix James’s arm quickly escalates into more.

Through Monaco, the Expo, and a birthday party, Tony and James learn that getting Lost can lead to being Found in incredible ways, but James doesn’t know about the palladium, and Tony isn’t ready to admit they have an expiration date.

With three months almost up, is Tony ready to say goodbye? And what happens when a Captain from James’s past shows up and calls him ’Bucky’?

What’s a green card marriage between soon-to-be coworkers, right? 

Steve and Tony mix like oil and water, like encyclopedias and nudie mags, like tweed jackets and neon pants. Couples counseling doesn’t help, living together through arguments suck, and faking it long enough for a green card to come seems impossible. 

Then one day Steve finds out Tony likes Piña Coladas, Tony realizes Steve loves getting caught in the rain, and like an old familiar song, life falls into place bit by bit. 

But after a dance that ends with a surprise kiss, Tony abruptly vacates the city and Steve is left to wonder if Tony really was only in it for the green card…

…or if the brilliant brunette had fallen for Steve like Steve had inexplicably fallen for him.

33k | E | Stiles is Derek’s Anchor as They Both Pine and Heal Slow Burn

Author Summary: Derek skips town just after the Nogitsune. When he realizes his mistake, he sets off to find Stiles, make amends, and keep his feelings for Stiles hidden. Two out of three isn’t bad.

Pining, bed sharing, highly-suspect platonic touching, and shameless adoration of Derek’s beard.

My Notes: Derek Hale healing, Derek Hale finding a safe haven and family and home, and Derek Hale trying and failing to hide how much he wants Stiles Stilinski for stupid self-sacrificing Nobel and shame-filled reasons are three of my favorite tropes of all time and they are all here in full force. I lost count of how many times I screamed in silent joy while reading this fic.

It’s well-written, overflowing with UST (that is later and very eventfully resolved) and happy pack feelings. There’s enough angst in the form of personal trauma, pining, and the occasional existential threat to keep things interesting. Clearly this fic was a well-considered labor of love and as a result it’s a delight to read and a welcome addition to my all-time favorites list.

Start Small, Like Oak Trees–EXERPT FROM CHAPTER 8:

He watches Derek pick at the soil stuck under his thumbnail, and thinks about him digging his big sister’s grave, all alone in the woods with no one to hold him when the grief became overwhelming. Without letting himself think too hard about the consequences of the action, Stiles reaches out and covers Derek’s hand with his own, tangling their fingers together. Derek meets his gaze, his eyes clear even through his evident heartache.

“Just because something doesn’t have an obvious use, doesn’t mean it isn’t valuable,” he murmurs, tightening his fingers around Stiles’. He stares intently into Stiles’ eyes, like he’s willing Stiles to understand the deeper meaning behind his words. Stiles’ breath catches in his throat, and he blinks away the prickle of unexpected tears.

He wonders how long Derek has known.

It should be shocking, that Derek has picked up on his deepest, most base fear, when even Scott has never fully understood it. Stiles has spent years repressing it, can’t help but suspect that it’s what left the door open for the Nogitsune. For all his jokes, his attempts at deflection, there’s been an ugly, insidious voice entrenched in the back of his head that constantly whispers one thing:

If Stiles isn’t useful, then what is the point of him?

And here Derek is, after everything Stiles has done, holding him gently by the hand and laying that fear to rest with a well-timed plant metaphor. Stiles clears his throat, scrubbing his free hand across his burning eyes.

“We still have to uproot all those thistles,” he says roughly. “They’re in pretty deep, we’ll probably have to dig them up.”

“We’ll get them out eventually.” Derek stands, untangling their hands to brush detritus from the seat of his pants. “It’s only a matter of time.”

Commission piece for “The Proposal” by superserum

“I got a little bit of sleep, but mostly I was too excited for you to be home,” Derek admitted, voice a little weaker than usual as he kept his eyes locked on the little box. He was prepared to talk as much as he needed to, as long as it would take for Stiles to notice to box. In fact, he opened his mouth to answer his next question, about to go grab his food from the kitchen, when the fork fell and clattered against the tray and the syrup jar was knocked over in the quest for the ring box, which Stiles had his hands on now. Doing a little damage control, Derek slid the tray safely away in an attempt the salvage the food in his boyfriend’s excitement. He watched as Stiles looked at the ring and tried to form words, but really it was just a few noises and hand gestures that made Derek laugh, scooting closer as he took the box gently from Stiles’s hands. “You’re my favorite person in the world. And I want to make you breakfast every morning, and kiss your drool-covered mouth to wake you up, and listen to you tell me stories,” Derek started to say, fidgeting with the ring and taking it out of the box. “You’ve really turned my life around for the better. And I can’t imagine living life without you by my side to help steady me. To keep me calm when I need it, and to help me loosen up when I’m too serious. I need that - I need you, okay?” God, he felt like he was rambling, but everything had been built up so much in their time apart that Derek didn’t want to leave anyone out, “I want to be the reason that you smile every day, just like you are for me. I want to be that for you forever.” He offered the ring out to Stiles with one hand, the anticipation at full blast now, “Will you marry me?” he added on, hands actually shaking a little now, licking his lips and watching Stiles.

And there Derek was again, perfectly saving his pancakes from complete and utter annihilation in Stiles’ excitement, laughing at his awkwardness and just generally being a beautiful person. It made his heart swell with everything. Joy, excitement, anxiety, exhilaration. When Derek took the box, his fingers were shaking and Stiles had to look down and count each one, flexing them in turn, then turning to his boyfriend with wide eyes as he spoke. Stiles wasn’t a big crier, he was usually the type of person that was shocked into silence, or who immediately got distracted by planning something for revenge. Even in happy movies, he just grinned and chuckled at everyone else who had tears down their faces. But it would be a blatant lie if he claimed that there weren’t tears beading down his eyes that slid down his cheeks when he grinned so hard that his eyes almost closed. Flinging himself at Derek, Stiles took the ring and pushed it onto his finger, clambering into his boyfriend – no, fiance’s – lap and kissing him silly. “Yes. Oh my god, Derek. You didn’t even need to ask. God, I love you so much and I had already asked – oh my god, were you in on this with my dad? Is that why he was so against me proposing to you for Christmas? Because, if not, we’re going to have a problem, but given that you have a good head on your shoulders…” he trailed off, shaking his head with a smile that hurt his cheeks as he held up his hand in front of Derek’s face. “Look!” Stiles chirped, rolling around in Derek’s lap so that his back was against his boyfriend’s chest and his hand was outstretched in front of the both of them. He tilted his head back and rested it on Derek’s shoulder, “I think it’s the second most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen, and you’re the first. But you could have proposed to me with a ringpop and I wouldn’t have cared, because I want to drool on your shoulder, and make you watch awful comedy movies with me, and have you console me when I mess up cooking rice – and I want that, and a cat, and a vegetable garden, all with you. Forever.”
