IT'S DONE! I hope I did this incredibly cool base justice!

This took an absolute age, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out! Definitely took a while to find my feet with the style, and had to take a lot of artistic liberties because the screenshot was very pixilated. I also tried making some bits look a bit less minecraft-y, like the landscapes and angled roofs etc. I also changed the line colour from black to dark grey (with great difficuly). I'm excited to do more buildings, because this was so much fun!

Majorwood Hogwarts AU fic:

The First Meeting

Word count: 1352

A new year of students is about to start their magical journey in Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft. To attend this school, you need to be sent a letter of acceptance, which arrives per owl, together with a list of school supplies that will be needed throughout the year. That list just so happens to be the reason that Scott is currently in Diagon Alley. He’d just received the acceptance letter a day prior, and his parents were so overjoyed that they decided to go buy the supplies immediately.

Scott’s POV:

First we went to buy the robes, winter cloak, pointy hat, and protective gloves that I’m going to need. And like, I know I need them, but they just look so plain and boring. It’s just not my style, but Mom says that it’s the uniform everyone’s going to wear.

After that we went to buy all of the books I’m going to need. We got those quite quickly since the shop owner had already set them aside; I suppose they sell a lot of them when school is about to start.

I was just looking at the bookshelves when I heard my mother: "Scott, dearie, would you like to go ahead to Ollivanders and find your wand while I and your dad go and pick up your potion supplies?" "YES," I screamed excitedly. Getting your own wand is the most important step on the path to becoming a mage. I have been dreaming of my own wand for, like, forever. So I immediately went to Ollivanders.

Upon entering the shop, I noticed a man sitting at a table; he was reading today’s newspaper. "Hey," I said, trying to get his attention, "I am looking to find a wand." "Well then you're in the right place, my friend," he stated. "So I’m guessing this is your first wand. Would I be right with that assumption, young man?" "Yes, you would," I responded. To which he continued as if thinking aloud, "A wand for you…… perhaps… Chestnut“.

After saying that, he climbed a ladder and took a wand from the high part of a shelf situated on the right. "Here, try this one," he said, giving me the wand. I wanted to do as he said, but I really didn’t know how to try out a wand. He probably noticed since he said to "give it a whirl."

When doing just that, the wand shot out a ray of ice that froze a bit of the floor behind me. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to.” I immediately tried to apologise profusely. “No need to apologise; it just wasn’t the right wand for you. Let’s try…. Maybe… no…… Not the right one either……“ While Mr. Ollivander was thinking aloud, I heard the door open and a boy shouting out in the street: “I can find a wand on my own, Dad. I don’t need your help to do everything in my fucking life.“

Martyn’s POV:

Aargh, why is my dad so overbearing? I am capable of getting a goddamn wand on my own. And now there’s another guy here before me; if I wait too long, my dad will come and bother me again. No, I don’t have time to waste. "Out of my way," I say while trying to push in front of him.

But when I'm about to pass him, I slip on the floor and fall forward, taking the guy down with me. How the heck did I slip? Looking at my feet, I noticed the reason. "Why the fuck is the floor frozen?" "I'm sooooo sorry; it just happened when I was trying out a wand," this blue-haired guy, who was now lying on the floor, said.

Turning to face him, I noticed his blue eyes that make his hair appear cyan and his expression; he looked good. But that’s unimportant; he’s the reason I am currently on the floor, and he’s in my way of getting a wand. “If you can’t even control what happens when you use a wand, then maybe you shouldn’t be a wizard,” I say while getting up off the ground. “Now, out of my way.“ I need to find a wand.

I see one on the table, and the wand guy is busy babbling with himself, so I’ll just try giving it a whirl. “I don’t think just trying any wand without it being given to you is a good idea, especially if it’s your first one,” the guy I knocked over said while getting up off the ground. “Please, I know exactly what I’m doing,” I say while whirling it. And suddenly I hear a loud bang, and the table in front of me is on fire. That was not what was supposed to happen.

The guy behind stepped back, probably scared. "What happened here!" I heard the wand guy say as he came over to us. He took out his wand and waved it in a sort of arrow shape while muttering something, and then the fire went out.

I‘m in trouble, aren’t I?

"Let me guess," the man started to speak again: "You tried out this wand without me giving it to you, and it wasn’t the right one, am I right?“ "Yeah," I answer. "Well, fortunately no real damage was done, and I think I know just the wands for both of you," he said, getting two wands from different parts of the shelves.

“For the fiery blond with the bold personality, a spruce wand with a dragon heartstring core,” he said when giving me the wand, then he turned to the other boy and continued while giving him a wand as well: “And for the kind and colourful boy, an applewood wand with unicorn hair at its core.” Come now, boys, give them a whirl.“ And so we both did.

"Nothing happened," I noted. "That means they're the right wands, correct?“ the cyan-haired guy stated. “Indeed,” the wand guy said. Great, I paid and was about to leave when the cyan boy stopped me.

Scott’s POV:

The other boy is paying and will probably leave after, but I kind of wanna know his name before he does. But why do I want that? He’s been nothing but rude, and yet he’s somewhat cute. He’s leaving; it’s now or never.

"Hey, we never really introduced each other. My name’s Scott Major, and I’m going to start attending Hogwarts this year.“ “I’m Martyn. Guess we’ll see each other again if you’re attending Hogwarts,” he said while leaving.

Wait, does that mean he‘s going to attend the same magic school as me? And Martyn is such a cute name and…… Scott, focus. You still have to pay for your wand and meet back with your parents.

After having paid, I left and found my parents, already waiting for me outside. "And how's the wand looking, son?" my dad asked once he saw me. To which, I proudly presented my new wand. "It looks lovely, dear," my mother stated. “Now don’t forget, no using it outside of school until you’re 18,” my dad added. I nodded, putting the wand away.

"Ohh," my mom started. "I almost forgot we got you a surprise!" They got me a surprise? "Ah, yes," my father started adding, "of course you already know that every wizard has a familiar, right?" I nodded, perhaps a bit overexcitedly. “And starting your wizarding journey, you’ll need one too,” my mother continued. “So we got you your own familiar…“ my dad spoke but got interrupted by my mom, who was probably too excited to keep me on my toes any longer: “We got you a winter owl just as it’s tradition in our family.“ And with that, my parents showed me a purely white female owl with crystal blue eyes and a golden-seeming beak that was sitting in a golden birdcage. She looked soooo pretty.

"Hi there, my name is Scott," I introduce myself to my new familiar. Shortly after, we went home, and I know in a few weeks my time at Hogwarts starts.

Aspec Experiences in the Hermitcraft-Empires-Life SMP Fandomsphere

I have created a google form to survey the relationship between this fandom and aspec identities. Everyone can and is encouraged to answer, if you are willing. It is very long, and has several sections where you are allowed to rant away on the subject, so feel free to take your time.

Also apologies ahead of time for any errors, seemingly obvious missed questions, or strange wording. I did my best and quintuple checked it, but I also have Skizz-level observational skills.

Welcome to TrafficblrJam, a game jam and big bang inspired event! It will be taking place from February 24th through March 29th of 2025.

Timeline Discord #Q&A

Since this doesn't operate exactly like a big bang or game jam, I'll walk you through what you can expect below!

Minimums

1 collaborative piece that fits a theme from the event, and has a focus on the life series.

Discord

You'll be able to join the discord any time during the event. However, it's a requirement, and your role will depend on when you join! Up until March 2nd, you can propose a project, up until March 7th, you'll be able to join a team, and up until the end of the event, you'll be able to join as a pinch hitter.

Theme Reveals

Themes will be required to include in your proposal. This is to even the playing field a bit, so that no one's coming in with a WIP they've done substantial work on before the event. However, these themes will attempt to be vague enough to fit multiple interpretations!

Teams & Matching

After theme reveals, participants will be able to propose projects, which will be shared for everyone else to see! You'll be asked to provide your project proposal, how it fits the theme, the role(s) you want to fill on the project, the roles you're looking for teammates to have, and anyone you're asking not to be matched with. Matching will be done behind the scenes, where everyone else will be able to pick their first choice of project, second choice, etc. Teams will consist of 2+ people. Priority will go to every project receiving a teammate first, before any other matches are made.

Creation Period

This is the time to work out who's creating what, and how much you'll be working in tandem! The one who proposed the project should ideally take on an organizational role if anyone in the team is feeling lost. However, make sure you're not shooting down ideas, and be flexible with your vision. You're free to discuss your part of the project in the discord. Please ask for help if you need it!

Posting

After the creation period ends, you're expected to post your work in one form or another. Even if the main chunk of it isn't on tumblr, @ this blog with a link to it, and it'll be reblogged here!
